I've won several games because the opponent had D rating and couldn't protect his otherwise successfull OW rush from my mutinies. I just pinged the old goonsquads as soon as an ow went underneath them and then when the defended status ended (well before they get a send off) proceeded to volunteer to pay for the difficult task of getting merchandise into martian orbit.
Yeah, I posted a screenshot earlier with the only aluminum patch on the map. Who do you think won, the expansive that squashed all of that aluminum leaving only enough for himself or... anyone else? No offworld rush problem in that game. [e digicons][/e]
There might have been core samples in that game. It could have conceivably remedied the problem (small % chance of happening but hey....)
I haven't seen a single high carbon in about a couple dozen QMs, and so scavenger seems like a non-option. I hope to see them more, but have high carbs been removed?
what different zoom? I see no difference.
thanks Mohawk Games!
Is the game supposed to be able to tie? Can it happen? Why does it show on the list as one of the columns?
I'm quite in agreement with the black market as it is in beta 6 (next_version), with the exception of EMP which I believe is overpowered against nonscientifics and is a lot stronger than power surge because goonsquads hardly protect against it. And god forbid if no goonsquads are available with EMP on the black market, scientific is the only option there. As of beta 6 next_version, we pretty much have the groupings that guarantee at least 1 of those T1 BM items you suggested. I do
This has been done before and it was nerfed because it was overpowered.
Yes InSyncOTC, that is exactly how I should have phrased it. There should be no difference between holograms and the real thing.
When I buy holograms during the stage of the game where my victory isn't secured (and thus I'm properly motivated to optimally use my black market) I wait until I switch to scrap out buildings and then when all the old are scrapped I add the hologram, then the offworld and finally the other structures. The empty left over tile stands out a lot less in that situation. I would personally like if a hologrammed tile would not at all factor the underlying building into projection (except t
I'm quite certain that the first example wasn't connectivity issues because gameslayer and I could still chat with each other even after the game paused and his final chat message to me indicated that he simply left at which point the game defaulted and granted me the win.
I've just played this game which I didn't manage to record on video at the time but of which I did save the replay file. Played with blues via QM on today's next_version of beta 6. replay file: http://www.filedropper.com/replay_2 A short video recording of the replay in which I try to point out the bug: http://youtu.be/1Q3mM53f1fU In short, time seemed to f
Thanks for letting us know Deftmunky! Glad you're working on it! edit: any idea about what's causing the game pausing bug I just posted?
I just had this bug with gameslayer on b6: http://youtu.be/3z-Ppy2dlg8 the game pauses while calculating my bond rating.
the 21st of August seems forever away. Where are we at now?
I'm me and I support the disappearance of random events in QMs. Random events frequently favor one or the other player clearly without any ability to counter it. There is no way to anticipate something that can not be detected in advance and can or not occur at any time. We've had no random events in the tourneys and in my opinion it should also be no random events in QMs, if QMs are to be fair and balanced. The issue with the abundance of resources on maps and the ability of
This happened to me in one of my quickmatches: (see the right hand side scrolling text) https://youtu.be/awO0gFcNXto also a demonstration of what I believe the current 1v1 meta is at (OW hardcore rush) I haven't changed my language settings, this didn't recur and after the game ended everything was back to normal. I was running b5.
thanks Soren! I'll leave OTC in the background searching for B6 QMs on the next branch and hope someone else does too. Edit: after a while now and after talking with a few friends, I can't find the unlock code for the next branch which apparantly is still required and lots of people dont seem to have it.
To me scientific being resistant against electromagnetic attacks is perfectly sciency. I agree that scientific is greatly empowered by the right black market and so is every faction. Scavenger can steamroll pretty bad as long as the black market favors it, ie. if it can reliably recoup its investments in the black market 2x or more (with pirates, mutinies, claims, etc). I agree that scav is extremely dependent on the high/medium carbon tiles, preferably with a 3rd to form a tr
situations like this happen about 20% of my games where there is only one good found and other founds that pale in comparison: https://i.gyazo.com/e131e0319359ce7acc8f2446f4ad2308.jpg On this map we founded simeltaneously and he got there first, every other found was terrible, there was no high or even medium carbon anywhere else in sight It's getting really tiresome and ruins the game when it h
I'll say that I think that Off-world Markets are very powerful in most games. Most of my 1v1's in quickmatches nowadays are decided by them. Any company type that is favored by the black market and finds a good founding location are almost quaranteed to win by the fact of rushing to offworlds. Getting just 15 seconds late to the OW race can kill you because every stock purchase that your opponent gets over you makes it 10-20% more expensive to start buying them yourself for each one.
what changed is that EMPs and Power Surges are now a rare thing and not a reliable counter to expansive any more. All these conditions make expansive more viable bit by bit: -No EMPs or power surges -resources are spread out -high OW prices -resources aren't in triangles -geothermal spots are present -no black market claims I still heavily disagree witb nerfing expansive. In my experience they're not OP (in 1v1, dunno bout FFA but wh
I disagree, in my experience OW success with expansive is highly dependent on prices as well as circumstances on world.
Im fairly confident my record will keep my name on there for a while to come. How are people finding matches? Im searching in b5 lots at 2 pm eastern and finding nigh nothing For hours straight.
hi, Rankings are on the to do list and some strides are being made to ensure that it will be there. There is also already a small leaderboard that tells us which players currently have played the most within the quickmatch system (which seems to simply match the first 2 players that click the quickmatch button in a 1v1). Obviously I'm hoping for a Warcraft 3 alike ranking system complete with leaderboard, levels, rankings and avatar icons appropriate to your ranking or the number
