Stock prices in beta 7 are stupid. They become incredibly high the less peopel there are left in the game, and stock is valued incredibly highly. If you own 6 of your own stock, and your opponent owns 4 of yours, you can buy back your own stock and it actually reduces your opponents buyout percentage because your own stock price rises so much because you own yourself. Fortunatly due to the nature of team games this shouldn't be much of a problem for the tournament, but it's very appar

Alright morgan and wino, our prefered times are anytime after 5PM GMT monday-thursday, which can include ridiculous o'clock, but I personally would especially like tuesday. Sadly saber has trouble making weekends, but with some prodding he can make friday if you guys really can't make monday-thursday
Standard RTS players who like the idea of economy rather than having to actually macro and micro units around? Who love RTS but don't have the APM needed to compete at the hgihest level, who thinks twitch-like reflexes in an RTS is a disgrace to the very genre? Well that's me... probably a small market :P
Yes, exactly.
Currently, if you have enough money you can shift-click your teammate to buy all unowned stock in them. This stock then counts as your stock, not your teammates.
I agree with everyonthing here except 2. and 8. but I don't think it'd hurt to change them either. If this was reddit, i'd upvote. Instead, here's a small bump from me.
... confirming that saberman is my... associate... ...
We should keep posting in this thread so that it gets more activity than his real thread!
Here's the thing. This is how C&C works, how Starcraft works, and how age of empires works. I think this is actually how every RTS going all the way back to the late 90's use this camera system, changing the angle as you change the zoom. I have no problem with it, because this is a part of the RTS genre. Perhaps a discussion can be had about whether this is a relic of a bygone age, when RTS's wanted to show off their graphics proudly, but I do not think this zooming option is
trying to drum up support in advance this time? I should be there
I'm simply not playing quick match because I'd rather play 4 or 8 mans and don't see the point of raising my skill level since it's gonna get reset at some point in the next few months. Besides, everyone already knows I'm the best! :P
you mean day 9 auction :P yeah, it happened as an offworld for the AI finished, the very second an AI attempted to queue up a send, I doubt it's a coincedence.
what you're doing is just goofy and meaningless
I'm gonna have to call you out on that man, just because you don't like that way of playing doesn't mean it's meaningless in general. Personally my prefered types of maps are ones with low silicon. Low water can get a little crazy with all the life spport, low carbon can be ignored by 1 person with carbon scrubbing, but low silicon
oh wow, i knew that graphics card was bad, but not THAT bad... ouch
That integrated graphics card is a real bottleneck to deal with, if that was better then he'd be able to run the game easily. A pity that thing is what he has. I think once beta 7 comes out he could run the game at 20FPS if he plays at a low resolution, something equivelent to 720P, as in beta 7 we get a new UI which heavily improves this games performance. However I think he would struggle if there were more than 4 players, or if there were 4 players in the late ga
I was using the new UI
ah okay, but where is this popup help? Next time I'll look for it and see if the bug is that that's not popping up, that will mean I wasn't just being dumb! :P
We attempted to play a multiplayer team game today to try out teamchat. Strangely, in those games chat jsut simply doesn't work. some people can see messages sent by others, others can't. You can hear the sound colonies make when someone sends a message, but you don't get anyones messages. I could see my teammates and no one elses, my teammate could see only mine, others could see some peoples messages from one team but not from their own and not vice-versa, it was just a mess. Ev
I noticed there was a new update today, I clicked on single player and the game crashed after about 5 seconds. Try that twice more, same thing happens both times. Start a multiplayer game and add AI's, loads fine. Restarted the game, now the singleplayer menu works fine. Something to do with not having a replay on the new version maybe?
Finshed a game between me, cubit, blues and saberman on Beta 7, trying out how the game feels after the pleasure dome nerf. No one was really playing to the best of their abilities, I myself was very tired and we were all experimenting, and it led to some interesting shinanigans, unique situations and a 40+ minute game. I think this is a great showcase of beta 7 as it currently stands, sorry that no one has a video of it :P Enjoy. . . . Okay okay it was
I guess I could add a few more to the list. Successful: getting a high tile, getting good resource adjacency, buying into a short appropriatly, succeeding in a research, making good use of a hack, spending your claims in a way to mitigate black market, removing debt, being in many different markets, punishing opponents without access to basic resources, selling useless starting resources first, identifying opponents despite masquerade, getting cheap goon squads, buildin
Well, your run begins at like 0:02 on the video and ends at 5:51, so the real-time timer is correct. It counts the 10 second found time, and also your forgetting that a martian day is 24 hours and 37 minutes, which the game rounds up to 24 hours and 40 minutes. once it hits that time, the timer goes back to 0:00. Re-doing the maths with that in mind gets the correct answer.
Third place match was posted after the finals PB, just scroll up!
I think it's alright for some patents to be just straight up awesome, it helps balance out all the weaker ones because hey, you got a patent lab so you might as well go for these things too whilst your at it. Thing is, a price increase isn't likely to change too much since oftentimes you get the cabron scrubbing as you also move into chems yourself, yeah it'll have an impact but likely not as big of one as you might expect. At the same time, I find people sometimes over-value carb
well my definition of spam is vastly different to yours then, since I think 1-2 hacker arrays can shut down a very large amount of hackers, and I wouldn't call 1-2 hackers per person spam :P
