The tooltip claiming it will be a loss does not mean it will actually be a loss due to adjacency bonuses. There are often times when food is said to be making a $2 loss but after they're built the adjacency bonuses kick in and the building tooltip gives you a $30 profit. If nearly everything is making a loss however then yeah, you just have to turn off your buildings, produce raw resources and power and just wait for a while. A lot of transitions that don't make you money is a terribl

Could you provide some replays to give some examples? I haven't found this to be the case
I would like to join. Let's try not to have this one go on for 6 hours :P
hover over active glass plant: -$37, hover over icon to build it: +$106
That should never happen. The icons number will always be less than the actual buildings icon, because the icons number is net profit without factoring in adjacency bonuses. That's the only difference.
per second real time, which is 10 minutes ingame time, and there are 24 hours and 40 minutes per sol. The games only last around 6 or 7 days, so thinking in terms of profit per day is a little slow :P You also don't get money from people buying your stock because otherwise the game wouldn't work properly. there would be little reason to buy into someone unless you had enough for the full purchase, dividends aren't a thing. Meanwhile every time you buy stock in yourself wou
A lot of new players have begun playing lately, which is great to see. We have a thriving community on discord, come join us! https://discord.gg/QHcSZEV For those who have no idea what discord is, it's somewhat like an IRC chat. You can use it in your browser, but if you like to use it enough you can download the app for it here: https://discordapp.com/apps
A known bug, a solution is being worked on. It happens if you have no replays in your replay folder. Go win a multiplayer match, then you will considered worthy of being allowed to use the exit button :P
Sure, althgouh that weekend is pretty hectic for me, i'll find some time to play
Yeah that's a result of the hsot disconnecting and host migration failing. Hopefull that gets fixed at some pint, but it isntt a random bug at all
I've been fine with any and all times atm. That one is as good as any
there's still the cost in fuel of flying the building out to the location as well. This can get bigger than you might think
kingmakering is a result if the stock system, and how stock is divided up when someones bought ouit. If P1 buys into P2 and looks like he's going to kill him, then P2 buying into P3 would be kingmakering, because after P1 buys P2 he gets all the stock P2 had in P3. This does not happen very often and is the incorrect play for P2 if P2 wants to have the best chance of winning, because by buying into P3 you just make yourself more valuable for P1, but someone motivated by spite or meta know
Usually when people can't see what you type ther's been a connectivity error between you and the chat room, requiring you to refresh the browser. If you had done that... twitch might think your a bot? Game 4 was early enough that you might have been able to win it, but that game was heavily in death tacticus's favour. If you had been an actual player when he bought you, he might have even ended up winning because your territory woudl have been better than th
Per second is useless in long distance trucking, because to tell if the tile makes any money, you must multiply the base resource by the mining rate before you can subtract. In contrast, per truck is useless in short distance trucking since you know the tile will make money, you just want to know how much, so you'll need to perform the compounding error multiplication.
umm what? You lost me here. Couldn't yo
double post, ignore
The current version is the most stable release, however the game is updated a lot on the next_version branch, which you can access by going into steam and right-clicking offworld -> proprties -> beta's -> enter the code MohicanSun2015 Also Soren, Mohawks CEO, was busy at GDC for a while so progress has been slow lately. Don't expect much major content added before release however, it's mostly balance changes and extra game options. I believe there's some extra
it slows me down so much it doesn't even work :P
Would love to play if I'm able to get the game running nby that point. I'm fine with any of those days.
Modding is currently possible. You'd have to speak to Jaiwera to get an idea of how effective it is as he's the only one to have made a mod with new content which he made for the campaign
So, for buyouts, your playing double the price of a share for every share the person your trying to buyout owns, ocne they can no longer be majority bought out. So if you have 5 shares and your opponent has 5 shares, you have to buy 10 shares worth of stock not 5, because each of their shares count as double. I assume that is what is happening here. It makes sense because otherwise what woudl be the point in buying more than 5 shares into yourself? That might need to be made clearer in a tuto
Yeah, it's not impossible, but as Soren said, people are just going to think the AI cheated ayways so what's the point? Agreed though that pattern-recognition is not needed.
well yeah if they're off they arn't consuming power :P
yeha those numebrs woudl have to be adjusted, not even I have reached a million debt :P
some interesting beta 3 screenshots used there :P (or was it beta 4 that changed the wind turbine?) Good article, can't see anything wrong with it, unlike a lot of early articles I read a long time ago
The question I would liek answered from you here is a simple one: Why? Why bother with all this extra stuff? Supply is defined as an amount of something supplied or available for use. The current game implementation reflects that, you sell resources, supply increases. The system you suggest involves a level of abstraction, speculation onn the part of other third-party entities. They see a lot of farms, so the price decreases even when theres no actual supply. That is not how a lo
