So, I can explain this. Thing is, I'm not sure you'd care about my explanations if you read this in the mood you was in when you posted this, because suspension of disbelief is a common thing found in pretty much every strategy game that exists. Your simple rebuttal to my explanations could be 'not good enough' and there the conversation ends. You seem to be looking for 'explanations' to problems that don't exist. If you look at everything in that way, your going t
Great, see you at 7pm GMT Friday. Hopefully cubit will be around to stream/cast it.
I know zultar is, but cubit is welcome to do so as well if he wishes
Duelking, Sorry I can't do Thursday GMT but can do anytime Friday. Preferably anytime between 7am-midday or 7pm onwards (GMT), although can possibly do in-between those time if needed.
Sure we can play at 7pm onwards tommorrow
I will not be able to play until Thursday at 2pm GMT due to an exam, if that's okay with you Dermas? Can do friday at any time if you'd prefer.
Cool, i'm in but I am unavailable on tuesday or wednesday next week, but I'm sure that won't be a problem
Okay what I mean by well balanced. A well balanced company with a large enough reach makes or contracts out it's needs so It's not stuck paying a premium for goods it needs to run. So in this game you need power, water, food, oxygen, and assuming your base is not all linked fuel. So as a company I would want to look at cost/benefit to producing my own versus buying elsewhere. So a balanced company would pr
It says amazing strategy games, then a subtitle saying that RTS is coming back with a bang. That doesn't mean that all the strategy titles featured are RTS, just that the author is excited to see some RTS titles. I believe he's saying that he's glad there's some RTS coming out this year, and so he is able to include some RTS games in his strategy games list.
Note: The red isn't meant to be accusatory ro representing a teachers marking system or anything liek that, I jsut couldn't find a better colour that would show up on the grey background :P
Game ends too abruptly Once you see a player is able to take over or has finances to take you over it's too late.
This is something that I've done since early on (starting on top of resources), I guess I've never realized how big of advantage Robotics gets at the beginning of the game. I've been playing incorrectly I guess the whole time by playing as expansive. Oh well thanks for the information I appreciate it.
Yeah, expansive are late-game powerhouses whereas robotic are early game powerhouses, s
Damn, blackmagic is beating me in the reputation war! :P
Indeed, this system should be in such a way that it can be ignored entirely and you can still win just fine. This game is not a stock market simulator afterall, the main focus of tis game is on the collection and exploitation of resources, and that should always be the main driving factor.
Power pays towards debt first, sometimes it's better to take money now than later Money = happiness Expansive trucks move 50% faster, this also reduces their fuel consumption Robots consume power instead of fuel Scavengers use a lot of carbon, you will need at least 2 mines worth Scientists are great for newer players
Yeah for teams I think you really have to enforce sharing debt
Might be useful to put these under video guides or their respective HQ's or something: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQNiPrA1MJE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKJxhZpgSS0 Other than that I have these 2 old guides on how to play power robo and general scientific: https://www
oof I knew scavenger was peanalised for using carbon rather than steel for stock price, but not that much. Just another way scientific is the best :P
I know it's something me and zultar have been complaining about for months, but I also understand why this is what it is. Mohawk has quite a rapid devlopment cycle when it comes to experimenting with new features so having a 'main client' keeps things simpiler for people new to the game and just getting their feet wet. I think however that the splits could be at least lessened by updating the main client every week rather than how it is currently, at least when the team is inspire
Gameslayer has 2 very excellent guides with tips on how to play different HQ's but I can't point you to them because he's not finished yet. HINT HINT. Thsi is a perfect example of herd mentality at it's finest! The fact that cubit and I came first and second does not mean we were more skilled in that situation :P
1. How's silicon looking? Can I power robo? 2. Oh god i've used up almost 1/3rd my time... uhhh scav spots? That's quick to check! 3. no there's never a scav spot, time to look around the map 4. ok that's an alright science sp- *scientific colony founded* 5. Alright alright find iron place down expansive there we go... shit the water was miles away... *wins an
I can't help but feel tht giving more stock is simply a band-aid solution to the problem. I'm okay with a band-aid over christmas, I understand that little can be done at this stage until afterwards, but it will not address the problems directly, only lessen the effect. After christmas though we're going to have topeel those band-aids off and deal with the problem.
Well that defeats issue 2 then, (were they changed within the last week or had I just not noticed when I wrote this?) but the stock you bought in yourself is definitely refunded when your bought out due to majoirty. See this: https://youtu.be/8jd4wfHqU3E?t=586 (9:46 if the timestamp didn't work). I do still think that the new majority buyout and the herd mentality it brings, when played around correctly, simply makes for a slower and less enjoyable game, and hurts the exper
Yes, my point is that having to wait so long to upgrade is bad for the game. I am aware fo the mistake I amde, I am not trying to invalidate what happened, I wrote this before the games even happened. it's teh fact that it happens at all is the issue, you shoudl not need more than double the cost to upgrade in cash before your allowed to upgrade
Note: The following was written before the most recent offworld tournament began. This was because whenever I make a prediction about potential fundamental problems I see with the game then it never comes to pass. Those potential problems did indeed come to light as a result, so games from the tournament will be used here as examples, so spoilers beware. Currently in the next_version there s a new buyout mode. This buyout mode is supposedly
