I had a feeling you would have tried the normal stuff - still, it never hurts to check. I'm sorry I could not help more, with any luck one of the mods or stardock devs might read this and offer some helpfull advice! [e digicons][/e]

umm - I don't suppose you are getting large black bands around you planets as well are you? The reason for me asking is that I have graphical problems which are related to zoom level as well and my system spec is totaly different from yours! To answer your question though - no, I don't think it is your card - there does seem to be alot of minor graphic issues in the game. Does a save and reload sovle the problem? This works for me, however the problem can then happen

I can also add another minor glitch as well, if you use the planet drain ablity on a pirate base the 'cone' graphic is displayed the wrong way around! Also getting the Stars stop their 'burning' animation after about 30 mins play!

Hey guys - I need some help! I reported a black banding glitch that appears on some of the planets in Sins (ver 1.05.28), at the time a simple reload was enough to get rid of it, but now its happens more often and a reload does not seem to cure it anymore. The bug causes thick black lines around the planets that can only be seen at a certain zoom range (about sceen size). Is anybody else getting this problem or has a fix? System Spec; Windows XP Service

My problem with Spore is the three activations DRM, it is completely over the top and just punishes the poor guy/gal that paid for the game. I have both Mass Effect and Spore both of which I have used one activation - in the next couple of months I'll be upgrading to a new computer with Vista (got XP at the moment), when I reinstall both these games I'll be up to two. My point is - there is a very good chance I'll have to format a new computer at least once due to mistake

I've two odd graphic glitches in Sins which I think may be game related rather than my computer setup. (this post was placed in the wrong section so I've copied it here!) First off - all graphics set to highest, running res at 1680x1050 at 60hz (spec at end of post!) 1. I get dark banding around planets, this can be removed by reloading, but this may then occur on another planet insted - its quite difficult to pin exactly what causes it, it is on a particular zoom leve

The OP has a good point though, I do belive that its just an oversight, but I do think it might be an idea to flag this one as a bug in the TA beta forum.

Very good points from the OP altough I rememeber this being discussed before and the same result being reached, I belive it was said that if there ever was a a galciv 3 it would all change then. I have to admit that I like the new invasion, the old one looked really out of place and dated. We've also got to remember here thats its not finished yet either! ;)

Yeah - I read that part but he did not say what was missing!! ;) Just curious really - this particular feature (being able to see the gas cloud attack e.c.t) was something I'd posted about some time ago. Even if it was left 'as is' it's still one hell of alot better!!

Well - the new invasion screens are ace, much, much more improved than the old screen, its made quite a big difference in the way the whole game 'feels' for me. Nice one guys and gals! I do have a question though - will graphic effects such as gas attacks and infomation warfare be shown on the video screen in a later build?

Considering the late beta of TA at the moment it might be way to late to suggest this, but here goes. Since all races now have their own tech tree why not do away with the universal translator altogether? insted - why not have race languages seperate? You could then research the language you wish to learn - ie, I want to learn 'Drath' but I don't care about learning 'Drengi' and so on. This could also control trade ablities as well. In many cases this would make each rac

I think AI awareness is an issue as well mainly because it knows everything your building and where - it would be nice to be able to build a TS in secret without any problems until its spotted - granted, it would be hard to keep something like that a secret - but it is a big galaxy. It would be kind of cool to destroy an enemy scout before they found your big nasty secret in a quiet corner of the galaxy!

Such a good question - I would like to say that you should continue to do expansion packs, if you really think about it TA is almost GalCiv 3 anyway, look at the changes in that compared to the original GalCiv2. The only thing I would like to add though is a slowdown on new features in GalCiv2, DA and TA and go for bug fixes insted, a bit like the talked about version 2.00 planned for the future.

Guys and Gals - I would like to wish you all a fantastic christmas and a happy new year! Cheers for all the hard work this year - I've had a blast on GalCiv 2 and the TA Beta, so I've decided it's time that I completed DA's campaign now! (yes - I know it's been out a long time but I've been busy!) Enjoy! chazzie

Cari - is there any chance of this build to be made final on SDC? Or is there still issues that need to be fixed? My reason for asking is that I've just started the DA campaign and in the current state I can't play it, and I'm not brave enough to risk using beta patches. I realise with all of the work going into TA that this is alot to ask but I did not want to start a TA game without finishing DA first!

Ok - I've found a way to reproduce this bug every time. Start a new DA Campaign game On the main map make a fleet out of 2 starfighters and the scout, take your turn, try and move that fleet more than a square, take a turn - then try and set a distant waypoint, and at that point it won't do it.

Okay - If I can get it to happen again I'll send it in! I'll try now so it will be soon if I can get it to do it again! - my experience with these sort of things is that it won't happen now no matter what I do!! X-( You're all doing a great job here - considering that your all working on TA as well! :CONGRAT: just don't forget that sleeping is also good!
