[quote] Enteralterego, Your problem is probably not a memory issue. Can you please send your debug.err from My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar, a zipped save game with a ship design that exhibits the problem and a screenshot of what you see when you try to design a ship using the template to [email protected] ? Please make sure that the save game is zipped or it will get corrupted. You can create a screenshot in game by h

I have experienced this bug as well when I started a new DA campaign and I had all these problems and a odd bug where the ship upgrade parts (the 'extras' were not showing in the upgrade bar - they were just blank boxes!) when designing ships. The really odd part is that they were all gone when I reloaded the game the following day. Using version 1.80e.098 I'm not sure whats happening here, is this anything to do with back porting TA code to DA? I did need to
I'll second that! /salute
Ah - I'm sorry CodeCritter, you know I thought I knew most tricks, tooltips and skills with GalCiv. Guess not! I'll try that then! :CONGRAT: Many thanks - your all doing an ace job!! (love the new invasions screens btw!)
Kryo - I have sent the SE file as requested to [email protected] As I put in the e-mail I have a save if you want it, (just before the crash) just let me know.
Hiya - First off, the game is looking awesome, you gotta love terror stars! (playing as terran with Arcean) anyhow; 1. Fully upgraded military starbase arms are still not rotating. 2. Terror Stars crash the game after firing on an enemy system - not if you destroy a random star. (this was caused by me firing at an Arcean Star without delcaring war first). 3. Scale seems to be 'off' a little bit - all star base types now look huge, if its possible a scaling option wo
Let me add something to this as well - if your playing the DL campaign build fleets and fleets of low tech single shot fighters (make sure that they have different weapons as well), if you do what I did and build ultra expensive capital ships you'll lose big time against the dread lords. I had one hell of a game towards the end of one mission where I had a massive empire and they had one star system and were slowly beating me!!! <b
I'm sorta surprised no one from stardock has responded to this - they are normally quick to answer any query! (I think thats why we love them so!!) @ dystopic - well - its an idea, if we can get no official response then go for it - I already have a minor list of bugs but chances are someone already listed them somewhere!
Military Starbases no longer rotate the outer arms when fully upgraded
First off I'd just like to say what a great job you've all done with TA - even at this early stage you can tell its final will be awesome! The question is simple - already there are several posts about minor glitches and typos (I've posted one already!) is this something that is useful at this point because it is still very early days in the beta or are more serious bugs required first? It might be handy to have a pinned post for the TA beta bugs as alot of the posts are 'going
The new tech trees are awesome and add alot to the game play, it some ways its a new game, I also like the new planetary graphics which give a much better feel to the game. Some minor glitches to report (Beta 1) (Arceans) 1. At the end of the Hyper Fusion Reactors tree the Advanced Navigation Centers the Advanced part the spelling is wrong as it says 'advamced'. 2. The Drengin fleet that attacked my planet turned invisible after their first attack, I have a save of this if
Dammit - I just broke my Send/Recv button on outlook!!! Arrrgh - gimme will ya!
Stardock - my god! what can I say! do you ever get any rest? any of you? Thanks a tonne for the update!
Let me be clear: I love your game - your stance on customer service, free updates and the speed in which they are realeased and of course you guys - I know you all work hard to produce quality games. (as my preorder date for TotA should show!) Do not allow the few to bring you down - one hell of alot of people do care about the updates, the game and your company. I thought the features in 1.8 was ace, particularly as I tend to use lease options alot. <img src="smiles/Wink.gif"
Geeze - You guys are awesome - yet another stunning update in the works! Love the idea of the lease manager - I use that option quite alot so I'm looking forward to an enhanced system. I would have to second the issue about starbase weapons though, I've yet to start DA as I've only just finished GC 2-DL (awesome game!). I have read that the weapons systems have been improved on DA anyway - making cap ships more useful against swarms of fighters - but nothing about starbase weapons havi
I like the idea of a space monster of some discription, something that all races should be scared of. The only problem is that you'll probabaly have to make a new model for the game!
One of the reasons people love stardock so much! anyway.. different planet backdrops on the invasion screen, if you attack a Mars like planet - have a dusty red landscape to fight on, and so on. I think you would have to do about six styles (Ice, Water, Earth, Toxic, Barren, Desert). I know its not possible (yet) to do tanks/soliders for each side but the planet backdrop could be done and would make a difference.
Yes, if you don't name them it seems to work properly. Thanks again.
OK, I've pinned down the fact that it has something to do with giving a name to the starbase, I called it 'Econ One' everytime I name a starbase and it gets destroyed by dread lords it turns ghost. Hopefully you'll get to read this kryo - since there is only several hundred posts here already!!
Funny - I've also got very poor performance in Dark Avatar, altough for me it does not matter what size of galaxy map you are playing on, I've also noticed that Gal Civ 2 Dread Lords runs fine as well - I'll post by debug file as well then. No - it does go if you save and reload. some more info - I'd renamed the starbase, and I'm running in 1280x1024 res.
Hi, I've had several problems with the starbase graphic staying on the screen after they have been destroyed. I'm playing the main campaign, and every time a dread lord ship destroyes a starbase it goes back to showing the first build, this does not crash the game, nor can you select it but you can build back 'over' it. Its rather an odd bug - hope you can help. System Intel Pentium 4HT 3.80 and 3.79GHz Windows XP - Latest Build 2 GB ram Nvidia Geforce
OK, so I downloaded DA from stardock central which stated version 1.50.89 on the download - after it downloaded I was told to update to version 1.50.59 as I was not sure I updated the program then realised this number is older than the orginal, but when I checked the version number in the stardock backup folder the version is 1.50.90!! whats going on? have I got the right version? Note that I have checked the orginal GalCiv 2 and thats fine!
As the title says really, could registerd users have access to a colour printable DVD box cover for DA? I bought the download version without a box, but since I now have an archive version I would like to know if we can have a cover - wadda you say?
