Ok thank you. Now please load this page https://forums.wincustomize.com/swfobject/index_old.html . There should be no green applet. Just the popup message. Please let me know what it says.

neophil, please load this page in your browser https://forums.wincustomize.com/swfobject/index_dynamic.html You should see a popup which says 'Has minimum version: ...'; Please tell me if it says true or false. You should also see the green flash applet load with the version number that you're using printed on it.

neophil, I'm wondering if its a problem with the fact that you're using a french install of Windows. I know that some other countries use a comma for a demical point so perhaps its some sort of localization issue. It's a shot in the dark but I'm looking into it.

I've followed those exact steps on three different machines with IE7 and IE6 and cannot make the page reload happen. Nor can I get the text to clear in Quick Reply box. From your screenshots it looks like your browser is not handling the anchor properly. What *should* be happening, is not that the page is reloading, but rather than the page just scrolls down to the reply box. If you're mistaking the page scrolling to the reply box (which is what happens with #reply shows up in your ad

I have flash v9.0.124.0 installed as well and it works fine. CTL+F5 if it didnt work and you did not get a popup message. If it still doesnt work and you get no message then I'm sorry, I don't know what to tell you. All of the problems, based on your descriptions, sound related to issues with your browser. Perhaps someone can speak with you in french and get a better, more detailed translation to english. Edit: neophil, I'm told by the network guys that we are

There were some problems fixed very recently with this system. Please give it another try through the forum address that Zubaz gave. If you get any messages, please reply with the messages you are given. You can review the post here https://forums.wincustomize.com/324195

There have been occasional problems with the upload via Wincustomize.com as of late. I would reccommend you use the upload in the forums. https://forums.wincustomize.com/account/images If you have issues with the upload in the forums please participate in this post https://forums.wincustomize.com/324195

If you use a website which has been updated to support the large avatars, then you are able to upload them. You can upload them through the Impulse Community site, JoeUser and the forums. (Please, let's get back on topic. If you have questions about the avatars or images that arent related to the problems people are having with uploading them, please post a new topic. I will be sure to answer your questions.)

It looks like neophil snuck a reply in before I could lock this one up. (Just to reiterate) The WC Personal Sites image upload is a bit broken at the moment, but we know about it and it will be fixed eventually. In the mean time, please use the forums for uploading your account images (https://forums.wincustomize.com/account/images). As per the Moderation Policy for this forum/category, I'm closing this post. Please do continue discussion of forum account image upload problems on this

Well sure, but I was pointing out that the message boxes in Firefox do not allow you to just CTL+C copy the content of the message box. (Let's jump back on topic before this spawns a tangent ;))

Ok. The issue with the uploads (as far as I can tell at the moment) had to do with people who did not already have certain images uploaded. The secondary issue is that the interface wasn't properly telling you when there was a problem. It should now, however. If you're not using Firefox and you get a popup message, you can use CTL+C to copy the message. Unfortunately the mozilla team, in their infinate wisdom, decided not to allow you to copy the message with that quick shortcut, so you'll ha

Please see this post for more details on this issue. A very helpful user has identified a situation in which users are unable to upload. If for some reason this does not clear up the issues other are experiencing, please continue commenting there. https://forums.wincustomize.com/324030

Well IE6 is an aging technology. It's abilities are far below modern browsers in terms of both performance and rendering. We're continually faced with really cool things that we would like to do both for presentation and functionality, but which just arent possible with IE6. It's always limited web developers and web developers have always been forced to either limit functionality to IE6 users or find 'unique' ways to hack around it's shortcomings. IE6 still has security issues and will soon

Hey all, I've identified what I believe to be the problem and am working on a solution. Unfortunately to be sure I had to intentionally break the system. So uploads aren't going to work for anyone for a bit. I'll reply again when I have it back up and running. In the mean time, please hold off on any further speculation until I get a chance to reply again. Thanks. [e digicons][/e]

wimpy, IE6 support will likely be dropped shortly after IE8 is released. At present we are only stating that IE6 is not supported on one website, http://www.impulsedriven.net. You should be aware, however, that choosing to disable flash and cookies will limit the functionality of all of the stardock websites. The forums rely on cookies and require flash to update your account images. We're aware that the header for forums.stardock.com and forums.wincustomize.com isnt displayin
Flash v9.0.28 or greater is required Though, it just can't work as latest Flash version (at least for France) is 9.0.124 Maybe you just have to downgrade the Version of Flash needed ...
124 > 28. Hack78, I will need numbered steps and screenshots of each step from you to reproduce that issues, im afraid. I cannot determine what action you are taking to cause that to happen based upon your last reply. I also cannot reproduce any action where text is dissappearing.

AH, see, we're mixing which sites we're talking about [e digicons]:P[/e] The wincustomize personal sites (ex; codemonkey.wincustomize.com) are a little busted at the moment. That much is true. To update your account images, use the my account pages on the forums. https://forums.wincustomize.com/account/images That page is tested as working (as I replied earlier) Wincustomize.com and the WC Personal Sites are in dire need of attention. While I don't have any kind of an answer to provide at the moment, we are looking into the problem using the data you all have provided. Please continue to post any 'odd' diagnostic reports [you] may come up with.
