Would be nice, you might have to agree to help pay for reconstruction though. Many peace agreements come about when an external more powerful country gets involved. That country often helps pay which is what gets the waring factions to agree to peace in the first place. Paul.

I think the score shown when you click on a name seems to be the sum of all scores submitted. The score displayed is a calaulated score based on all scores submitted (it's not actually the average). Paul.
Worked fine here. Paul.
What would also be nice is to record your maximum score and summation score as well as your average. That way you would always submit your scores, not just when they're larger than your last score. Paul.
Would it be possible to split the metaverse scores a bit more. In particular it would be nice to have tables for each galaxy size. This seems to be the greatest factor in deciding the score. A second interesting split would be scores based on victory method 9but again split into galaxy size). Further scores based on starting difficulty and alien intelligence would also be nice. I usually play on medium or large galaxies, and while I appreciate that those people playing on giantic galaxi
Have the improvements been tied to the correct techs yet? I still get planetary improvements before I've researched the techs and last night I also noticed that I could build the planetary translators before I researched the tech. Also all the omega improvements arrive at once. Surely these should all require seperate techs? Finally (as mentioned by others before) the universal translator is no longer required to talk to the aliens. It used to be! Paul.
DOn't forget that the class of a planet will affect its population level and its moral. While you can get useful production out of a low class planet it will limit the maximum tax level you can set before moral becomes a problem. Consider an empire with 15 class 14 or higher planets. It can set a high tax level. An empire with 15 class 14+ planets and 10 class 8+ planets will have a much lower tax level. Admittedly the current build is much harsher on moral, but in previous builds, when all plan
Jack, it hasn't worked on my win2000 systems since april. Paul.
works fine here, but as stated by others, nothing to test downloading. Paul.
Pat, Landwaster's last comment is a good one. I also play on dial-up and have to remember to connect online once I win a game BEFORE the score submission screen appears. It would be nice if the score submission screen appeared and then REMINDED you to log on to submit your score, OR saved your score to be automatically submitted next time you log on. Paul.
Cybermage, I trust your comments were in jest. A smily face would help. Tytan's suggestions are perfectly valid, they just go against Brad's stated objective of having a quick starting game. Stardock have already increased the cost of colony ships based on feedback. Many games (as stated above) do work with very expensive colony ships and work well. It's all about balance and the designer's objectives. Paul.
I prefer the idea of one attack equals one movement point. This will stop powerful ships being completely blocked by a replenishable swarm of scouts, while allowing the swarm of scouts to at least delay the battleship. Paul.
For me it often does not work. I'll submit a score and it'll never appear. Maybe it has something to do with me using 2 computers? Paul.
Why do I have anomoly and anomaly files in my data directory? Every time I explore an anomoly in the game the game crashes to desktop. Is it something to d owith these duplicate files? Paul.
new version worked well here. No error messages. Paul.
It should be able to happen (consider wars on earth, often allies will surrender seperately). It should nto happen without warning though. You shpould be aware that your ally is discussing surrendering. They you can try to change it's mind, negotiate a joint surrender (better negotiating position) or let it surrender and continue fighting. Lots of strategic options here. Consider WW2 where the British scuttled the French fleet when they knew the French were surrendering to the Germans.
It could be nice if the ranges scaled with the galaxy size. Small and medium galaxies could scale ranges a bit to make them relevant for that galaxy size. Paul.
I like some of the ally ideas, but the last line of not being able to break the pact is wrong. If two allied civilisations are at war, and one decides to sue for peace it should be allowed. The other ally should then immediately have the option of either (a) joining the same peace negotiations and agreeing an joint end to the conflict (similar to EU2) (b) breaking the alliance and continuing the war (c) making his ally a counter offer to keep fighting. Allied
Cari, what about CRC checking on downloads? Does this need to be added or is it already present? Paul.
now have it as well Paul.
Working fine for me as well now. Is it possible to ignore the seconds in future? Paul.
not me, still unable to load coreships. I'll try changing my date settings and see what that does, Paul.
I vote for smartass response!
Perhaps even a fourth option, give control of it's remaining planet to the UP. Makes the planet protected (historical reserve showing a once great race in it's home environment) but takes the race out of the game. You could possibly still trade with it? Paul.
works on both my machines as well. Paul.
