i've run sfc /scannow multiple times, didnt fix, and i do use something related to dwm, its called dwmblurglass, pretty sure that uses dwm, so if that can, then it must be something else? is there a way to like have the app ignore if dwm on or off and just try running?
Unfortunately no, the app relies on the OS telling it the truth. If it says no DWM it will disable those features as using them would break badly

If it says the DWM is not enabled then something on your computer is making the DwmIsCompositionEnabled api to return false. My best guess is you have installed some sort of OS mod like windhawk and that is doing that to achieve something else. Unfortunately if that is the case then it is breaking WindowFX and you would have to disable / remove whatever is causing that.

You should check you didn't accidentally add as kvm mode if it is KVM mode and also it isn't on the right hand side waiting to be dragged onto the grid. Another thing to check is the service is running correctly as without that you cannot change any settings at all. Seeing if anything like creating a hotkey or toggling other settings get saved OK after a close and reopen would confirm this.
Please guys, can you check compatibility with StartAllBack? Start11 became incompatible with it as of his version 3.9.18.5338, because he had to make changes to fix a problem, that showed in the developer builds of 26h2.
As a general rule we do not support insider releases of Windows as they are prone to changes which can waste development time. I think we would need more details on what you mean by incompatibl

Can I ask why you need no sign out option as it may be something we can add. If you add the registry key "DisableSignInOptionsLink" as type REG_SZ with a value of 1 to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Start8\Start8.ini\Start8 it will hide the sign out options link. For lock it is controlled by the OS system policy. If lockworkstation is blocked by that then the option will hide. Likewise the sign out option is controlled by the REST_STARTMENULOGOFF p

If the icon has a grey box around it then the app lacks high resolution icons. Usually nothing above 48*48. We try our best to avoid this but sometimes it is not possible and the box is added by the OS when requesting bigger sizes. Icons requested scale with os resolution. Windows will typically downscale the 256*256 icon to whatever we request.

ChatGPT is incorrect in many ways. For example "Groupy cannot group UWP apps reliably by design." The general rule is very simple. No titlebar flag (WS_CAPTION) or owned by another window (i.e. child window) you cannot group. Also windows smaller than a certain size as transitory typically.

Thanks for the report. The issue with the Win7 style when that option has been enabled on the Win10/11 styles should be resolved for the next update. The issue with white text on the left hand side of the Windows 7 style menu couldn't be reproduced regardless of Windows settings. The automatic colours option is enabled by default in Start11.

Do you have anything which might be changing your wallpaper on a timer or light/dark mode? It looks like a lot of setting changed messages are being sent for some reason which would be why apps stall as they have to process all those notifications.

That would be the normal height for the notification area. However the painting behind it is definitely not normal as it should match the rest of the task bar. Whatever is doing that (and changing the number of icon rows in the tray) is probably the issue here.
