According to the website Stargates are 10 times slower than hyperdrive, what powers your ships. ~SDC~
The basic point which nothing is probably going to change is Frogboy's intentions are that Stargates are always going to be the opposite of what you want. His intention is for them to work in such a way that only a stupid government would build them if they had access to hyperdrive and he is unlikely to change that. Otherwise they wouldn't probably have been torn down when hyperdrive became available, if they were instantanious and affordable hyperdrive probably wouldn't have been invented in
I recently got the game (love it) but i research things like star creation and cloaking etc - but nothing seems to happen, is something supposed to happen, i.e can i make stars and 'artificial moons' like it says and how do uget ur ships to cloak etc?
No none of the techs you listed here do anything but lead to more advanced techs. ~SDC~
thinks to yor answer. a little question more: how i do to build colony ships or other ships ?on what i have to click on? it is not on the buy procedure isn'it? can you explain me ?thinks
Just wait, if you aren't buying it it will be built automatically when the time it lists under the ship or building ends. ~SDC~
I usually start by leasing 4 -5 colony ships. When i have colonized planets i get confused. Do all my planets need all the different social projects
You probably shouldn't lease them, set your military spending and spend rate to 100% and you will make them every two or three turns, and building everything on every planet is a waste of money and not a good idea, your probably lucky to afford it at all, build only what each planet needs. ~SDC~
campaign? There's a campaign?
If you have AP. ~SDC~
This isn't a new change, the Fundamentalists have been in the game along time if not from the beginning. Play good if they are such a problem, they only hurt evil races. ~SDC~
But i'm also a little bit confused why i can research alliances but can not neogate a alliance with another empire. I can only bet them to make peace or declare war upon a other nation.
To make an alliance the other race also needs the alliance technology and you need to have 'close' relations ~SDC~
What were the qualifications when you were promoted diplomat by Stardock?
Stardock has never given the qualifications for Veteran, Diplomat ect. Its really only from observation that it seems clear being helpful on the forums and answering will make you a Veteran, something more seems to be required for diplomat or ambassador at least now, but again the qualifications have never been stated to my knowledge. ~SDC~
Also since I thought AP was an add-on, it is in it's own seperate folder and not with Gal/Civ does that mean you do not need Gal/Civ to play AP and it is a stand alone game? And one more dumb questions, can the scores from these games be added to the metaverse?
Even though its in a different folder you still need Galciv to play it, and yes scores from AP can be added to the metaverse. ~SDC~
For some reason, I had it in my head that the player could not speed rush/purchase wonders or trade goods. Of course, I could be very wrong and just having one of those days.
As far as I know you've always been able too, I've done it before anyways. ~SDC~
It cost the equivalent of billions of US dollars to just use one a single time. Needless to say, they were not used often. In fact, Hyperdrive is literally 10X faster than a star gate. Quoted from the website on the Stargates, not sure about it being worth it to use even occasionally. ~SDC~ [Message Edited]
Its up I just downloaded it. ~SDC~
The influence points you trade for have to do with the UP. The more points you get from them the less their vote counts, and the more yours does. ~SDC~
What exactly is an alien tech victory and how is the weighting of that compared to the others?
Its just what it says it is, its when an alien race gets a technological victory, after which you can't win a tech victory anymore. ~SDC~
The progressives were taken out a long time ago, they may not have even made it through the beta, the manual does need corrections. ~SDC~
its my answer as to why they are no longer going to do major updates to GC
Another reason could be is that the promised year of free updates just ended, and now they want to focus more on other games includin Galciv 2 ~SDC~
Through Stardock Central you can try 'Lookup serial number' under tools ~SDC~
Question: What exactly are the multi- Media files? Are they worth installing?
This probably should have been asked in its own thread, but they are the sound and movie files, at several hundred megabytes it's up to you to decide if it's worth downloading or not. ~SDC~
Could someone explain this, I have 88bc coming in each month, my tax rate is at 38% when I raise it up my money goes down to 67bc a month, why is that? And my moral was at I belive in the mid70s
One possibility is people don't like high taxes, if you set it too high some people will just stop paying taxes and your income will go down. ~SDC~
March? I thought more like october or december, not sure thou
Certainly before then, I got it in June. ~SDC~
Hopefully it will come out a few months after the 1 year free update for gal civ will be up.
That would mean it would be out very soon. I could be wrong but last March I think was when the game came out. ~SDC~ [Message Edited]
I believe the only way to go to an old version is if you chose to manually archive old versions through Stardock Central. If you didn't you probably can't. ~SDC~
Its awhile away, Frogboy has said in the past not to expect it before 2005. ~SDC~
