To be honest I probably know too much about Lord of the Rings for my own good (The movies have actually annoyed me to a degree). I don't play the game all that often though, only submitted one game to the metaverse so far(Granted it's the only game I've played to it's end so far.) As for empires I never put much thought into joining any. ~SDC~

actually I think I may have seen that if it's one of the old animated ones and I'm only 20, our local library at least used to have a bunch of old animated lord of the rings movies no one producer seemed to completled the entire story though. ~SDC~
Even if you destroyed the old owner of the trade good you probably couldn't remake it and get the monopoly over it because the AI probably would have already traded it to other races. And one of them having it longer I would expect would have more right to it. I'm just trying to put logic to it. I don't expect stardock to make any changes to this kind of thing. ~SDC~
Also, why do my two games not add up correctly in Metaverse. Is the score an average or what?
It's more complicated than that. There is a thread that goes over the score system in great detail but I can't remember which it is. ~SDC~
Also there is the new random event that switches an AIs alignment, but then again I think thats only in the beta. ~SDC~
I think posts submitted is enough if you are being helpful and answering questions, it's the only reason I can think of that they made me a veteran ~SDC~
I'm not sure. You might be able to with a mod, but you would need someone with experience making them to tell you for sure. But without any mods I don't think it's possible. ~SDC~
I understand mental disorders quite well as I have one that while it quite different than yours and due to the natur of it isn't noticable online, as it's don't effect my thinking. So I understand the part of insults about the disorder being unpleasent, but it does look like you admitted to intentionally exagerrating. Quite pointless too, calling the people at Stardock Nazis isn't going to make them make the beta free which was your original goal of this thread. And very few people if anyone
Anyone else have the problem of 1.05 just shutting down on XP Pro? I find saving about every 10 turns helps a lot, but ...
It's not XP Pro itself unless it's a specific setting you changed on your computer. I've never had the game crash using XP Pro. It's true I'm playing the beta now but I never had any problem with 1.05 ~SDC~
Windows XP doesn't automatically crash Galactic Civilzations. Like I already said on this thread I have XP and it's never crashed on me. And I almost always play on Gigantic Maps, I wouldn't think a smaller map would be more likely to crash. ~SDC~
This ones been posted so many times, it's in the 1.05 bug report numerous times. As for the feature it is supported, but only in the expansion pack beta. But by the sound of things you don't have that though. ~SDC~ [Message Edited]
I'm just going to say the big requirements. Just because your military can beat them doen't mean they'll ally with you. First you need the Alliance technology. Then you also need your relations to be Close. If both of these are true the option to make an alliance will be there but might have to give them a few ships or something. ~SDC~
I can't say much except to say it probably isn't windows xp on it's own doing it. I have windows xp and the game has never crashed on me. And I'm on the beta now but I didn't have problems with 1.05 either. ~SDC~
Sounds like to me it was because you reloaded, but I could be wrong. I heard stuff was put in to penalize players who reload to avoid negative events. Again I could be wrong but after 20 reloads this sounds like what happened. ~SDC~
Bonus Pack question:Now that I have the game I saw via SDC that the current BP is 1.0.004.Since I haven't been on the board for a while let me ask if there have been BPs 1.0.001-1.0.003 and if so, are those included in BP 1.0.004?If not, how do I get them.
You don't need to download old patches of anything to do with the game. The newest patches have all the stuff from the older patches in them. So you shouldn't need .001-.003 ~SDC~
What happened to the "Linked Events" that were mentioned as a part of the expansion pack? (That is, events that can depend on other events etc, to build a storyline, instead of just random events)Will it ever come?
Probably. They don't have everything yet in the beta that will be in the final version of the expansion. At least thats what I've heard. ~SDC~
Theres nothing in the year long upgrade that said you would get betas for free. I think it's better to pay for the beta rather than the final version, you'll eventually get the expansion for free. It's not really that long either. And really you aren't being blackmailed at all since you aren't being forced to pay. ~SDC~
I don't know where you got this idea there are cheats in 1.09. Personally I'd be suprised if the developers ever added cheats. ~SDC~
It's not like the beta is all your getting for that $30. You might not want any of the other stuff you get but you get alot more than the beta. ~SDC~
with most laptops I've seen theres a function key to hold down then the upper right section of the keyboard acts as a numeric keypad, but I don't know if this is true on yours ~SDC~
If you get it from stardock it's not zipped and is installed automatically. ~SDC~
You have to get the expansion to get them back. You weren't supposed to get them before the expansion, they were put in earlier by accident. ~SDC~
did you click 'Show pre-release Versions' under view in stardock? ~SDC~
I don't know why you think the set up screen should change, most updates are just to get rid of bugs and errors. I keep updating it and I've never noticed the set up screen change, not even with the expansion beta. If stardock says you have the most up to date version you probably do ~SDC~
It's up now. Make sure you have clicked 'Show Pre-release Versions' under view in stardock ~SDC~
