Well I for one wouldn't let him get the entirety of his fleet that close to begin with. But They could just implement the civ rule. You must diplomatically break the alliance before you can attack and Breaking an alliance returns all units in the foreign territory home. (I forget which civ that is from)
This is Civilzaton 2, which I actually still play. ~SDC~
14. Lock buttons for the social/military/research spending allocation
This one is in the expansion already. ~SDC~
The expansion pack beta has cheats in it. But I don't have a list of what keys do what. ~SDC~
By my old research on this. I didn't even read that article. But if I remember correctly. The reason they predicted the world to end with the Mayan calender is because the calender ends at that exact moment. It doesn't go any further for some odd reason like ours could. That's the reason they predict that. Actually I may have remembered a reason
Not normally on this thread, but was passing through. But anyways the strange thing about that date in the dream is some show on the history channel said the Mayan calendar or some other ancient calendar predicted the world would end in 2012. Upon futhur thought I think that may have even been the exact day given. But I can't be sure with how l
You know how you have the cliche VCR with the clock forever blinking the time '12:00' over and over. Well my dream was of an alarm clock doing the same thing, only instead of flashing '12:00' it flashed '12/23/2012'. Freaky huh? Not normally on this thread, but was passing through. But anyways the strange thing about that date in the dream is s
as long as that included access to the new MODaverse, where modded scores are tracked seperatly from the stock game scores on metaverse. (HINT)
This is unlikely, since what I heard on threads is the metaverse budget has been exhausted ~SDC~
I have a question (or four)..... Is There any way to become "more good" without planet events? Does starting wars or eliminating a race make you "more evil"? Can you trade "good" & "evil" techs to those not of the appropriate alignment? and where can you find what your alignment is?
Nothing to do with wars can make you evil. The morality events are the only thing that decideds your morality. ~SDC~
The extra $5.00 is shipping and probably gets added later. ~SDC~
They couldn't get 10 techs in 5-6 turns, without trading you can't get more than one tech a turn. Are you sure there are no more Minor races left? ~SDC~
it depends, if you do it too fast you'll get a low score. But also if you take your time in winning when you could win much quicker your score will also be lower. ~SDC~
Depends what you mean by cheating, on the highest difficulty settings the AI does get a research bonus. But I never think of these bonuses as cheating. I'm also not sure if you are on a difficulty they get a bonus. ~SDC~
anybody out there?
Probably about every possible thing you could do to fix your crash problems has already been listed in this thread. ~SDC~
It's not stardock central, I download stuff from it at decent speed. ~SDC~
The Wincustomize forum may be a better place to post this problem. ~SDC~
Great. I would recommend you download it direct from Stardock if you can. Your money would then go straight to the developer.
Just to be helpful, if you do choose to order it from Stardock you should probably pay the extra $5.00 for them to mail you a CD. Since you said you use a 56k modem still. Downloading the game with one of those would probably be awful. Especially if you don't have a download manager to pick up where you stopped if you loose connection.
Yeah I know, I was thinking that. I wasn't saying humans shouldn't know. My point was just that it would be a mistake if the aliens didn't. ~SDC~
As for the aliens not knowing where the yellow stars are you have to look at it from a story point these other races have had space travel for centuries and so should know where all the yellow stars are. They would have made a huge mistake if they didn't after all that time wheras humans as the game begins have only just thier first ships that can leave the solar system. I think considerign this they should know, but maybe humans should too if you want to be fair. ~SDC~
As long as it's a bug for versions 1.05 or 1.09 there are easy to find clearly labeled threads for posting the bug. Just scroll down the list some. ~SDC~
Since they haven't made the development money for the game back yet I doubt at this time they are going to develop the game for other operating systems. Stardock never did reply to the thread asking for a Mac version that I noticed. ~SDC~
(2) When landing on a planet and getting the event that gives production bonus. Is the production bonus for military or social or both ? Please be specific. If both list both.
I think if it ever just says production, and doesn't specify it means both. ~SDC~
* It would be nice to have TAB/ENTER control for pop-up boxes/windows, so that you could get rid of them w/out having to use the mouse. For example, when the "Do you wish to update this starbase?" box comes up, have the Yes button selected and have activate it; let the user hit to cycle among buttons. (That would also make the anomaly popups more tolerable w/out having to turn them off altogether.)
The Escape key does this. ~SDC~
From what I've read you may even have to renew it to get patches to Galactic Civilizations after a year. As I keep seeing people refer to just getting a year of free upgrades. ~SDC~
I think you get the updates for a year then have to resubscribe to get more. ~SDC~
It can happen under very unusual circumstances (there used to be an example of the Arcean Empire fragmenting into two seperate civilizations on the main page around six months ago). There is practically no way for this to happen accidentally, though. It's always the result of deliberate action by some other player. As I recall, one of the stated possible problems that can occure if a race's homeworld is captured or destroyed was the fragmenting of their empire.
