Since we just saw the first person to break 100,000 points in the metaverse last night (Staffa, by the way, with 101,294 points, with RayTheWanderer just 30 points shy of 100,000). we should now place bets as to what Empire will break 1,000,000 points first. As of right now, the scores of the top three Empires are:

G.R.O.S.S.......................861269.2 (needs 138730.8)
Fellowship of the Ring..........840491.2 (159508.8)
Mid-Western Confederation.......717205.3 (282794.7)

this is going to be a kinda hard bet, since they all need over a hundred thousand points to break a million, and all 3 empires are pretty successfull in getting new players. my guess will have to be G.R.O.S.S., mainly because i didnt like The Lord of the Rings book, and I fell asleep during the movie :(

looks like something happend last night that i missed, Mid-Western Confederation actually lost 23525.5 points! maybe someone got recruited from the other 2 empires? The Fellowship of the Ring advanced a lot since yesterday evening, they gained 62902.7 points since the last time i checked.

That last big fleet battle between GROSS and the MWC left pilots stranded in Fellowship space. The kind wizards have had luck in rescuing the survivors. Remember, defectors and free agents can radically alter the balance of Metaverse power in an instant. A lot of persistant scorers are better in the long run, but the instant boost due to roster changes is a good edge.

Well, looks like the MWC is imploding! This has quickly become a two horse show. The Fellowship had a strong showing earlier today, but the GROSS have come back strong. The betting has been strongly favoring the GROSS as well. The Odds on the GROSS have already dropped to 8 : 7! Looks like the house is gonna close the betting on that soon, so better get your Bucks in fast while ya can still make a profit!

Stay tuned, folks, it looks like this race is only gonna last 2 more days. Will the piratical GROSS be able to win without getting caught, I mean, without cheating? Will the Fellowship's mysterious "Ring" device provide them a surprise bonus? Will the MWC and the CSF's secret plans to join forces actually materialize? Regrettfully, betting has been temporarily suspended while we examine our computers to make sure the Computer Error does not reoccur! actually I think I may have seen that if it's one of the old animated ones and I'm only 20, our local library at least used to have a bunch of old animated lord of the rings movies no one producer seemed to completled the entire story though.

To be honest I probably know too much about Lord of the Rings for my own good (The movies have actually annoyed me to a degree). I don't play the game all that often though, only submitted one game to the metaverse so far(Granted it's the only game I've played to it's end so far.) As for empires I never put much thought into joining any.

looks like Mid-Western Confederation is out of the race for 1 Million, there still is a small chance they might win, but it doesnt look like it. Fellowship of the Ring is doing pretty good, they covered aprox. half of the points they needed to get since this thread got started.
