BTW, I don't know why people think the larger maps take so long to play. My most recent Huge map (on all Intelligent opposition) took me about 3 hours to complete. Although I admit, I'm not as patient as most people and would do a lot better if I paid attention to more details.

I actually like the way the Metaverse works. The only problem is the old games that have too high of a score in comparison to the new games, but that is supposed to be fixed in the future, so we patiently wait. Finally got myself a 2000 point game under 1.03A. Yeah!
P.S. I have my receipt! :-)
Whoa. Are you saying someone who buys a single user license for the game, can't give or sell that single license to another person if he doesn't want it anymore? I realize it's not going to be a software producers favorite thing because they don't make money on that second transaction, but you know, when I sell my car, the car dealer doesn't make money on that either. The argument that the game could have been copy is weak, since what game WITH copy protection has not been copied? The
It probably is, you can only be in 1 I think. Try deleting yourself from your own empire. I have the option to do that to myself.
Obviously music is a matter of personal taste...
I concur with Code Monkey, but this comes from a player who rarely ever tries to flex military muscles. The only games I win at higher AI Intelligence is by avoiding wars.
Okay, you can now vote on a new name for this empire. I've listed 10 choices at the following web page. If none has a clear majority, I'll reduce it to the most popular choices for a 2nd ballot. http://doncaster.on.ca/~dboucher/galciv.html

Here's looking forward to some friendly competition with my Aussie friends! Had an awesome time when my wife and I vacationed there (and some other island near-by) in 2000.
Are we walking about those red things that look like giant dragonflys? I've seen those in 3.05
Congrats, didn't take you long to leave Texas behind you...
Oops, just saw Stardock said the same thing 7 minutes earlier. :-)
At least the game I submitted 8 times over the past 3 days to test it finally got counted. You'll notice the date on my last submission...
It's "smart" enough to avoid being taken advantage of by me, but not "smart" enough to offer itself up for being taken advantage of? It's so weird, because I offered all my techs for Dreadnaught technology and he would refuse, then he would turn around and ask for just Sensors.
How about "Strategically Hip"? :-)
That's exactly what you do,or last AutoSave if it's more recent than your last save. Or at least, that's what I do. Of course it's pretty easy to know when the game will end (to save it) if you're winning Beyond Human, on Military Conquest. Culturally is a little fuzzier.
With our latest recruits we have just hit the Top 10 Empires! Just a shameless reminder that all Canadians are welcome and encouraged to join our empire. Hopefully we have some more game submissions ready for when the Metaverse starts accepting again! I have one so far, and will likely play some more tonight.
My last succesful submittion was the evening of May 4th.
McDonald's stopped using styrofoam in the very early 90s, well in Canada anyway.
I find destabilization very useful. It speeds up the cultural absorption of their worlds. I use it a lot.
Trading techs is weird. They always refuse my fair trades, and then come back with something like: "I'll give you Dreadnaught Technology for Sensors." If you have Dreadnaught Technology, you could likely research Sensors in a single turn... I did get the above offer in one of my previous games. I of course glady accepted.
As long as you have a save game (or use the AutoSave before you start a new one) you can re-submit it when this problem is fixed. Since a number of us who have submitted games before, can't anymore, it's quite obvious there is some sort of problem with the metaverse. It's really too bad they haven't put any logging in yet, as they'd have tons of feedback on the problem if they did.
They should, but I'm not sure if Star Pilot was referring to a work-around for the case where the game thinks they are defunct when they are not.
I tried loading my 1.02 game into 1.03A, and the load works fine, but the submit fails there too.
