Strategy Help from experienced players in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

Okay, I'm one of these new players who is struggling against the AI. Clearly I'm doing something wrong, because I find it very difficult to complete at Normal AI. I'm hoping that some of the more experienced players would share some of their insights to help me get started. I'll go through my typical scenario so maybe you can see my problem. I had a terrible version of this tonight! It killed my game. It kept saying my income was 100-200, but I was losing about 300. If starbase costs aren't getting counted that was certainly account for it, as I had about 15 of them... I simply could not make money and kept sinking farther and farther in debt, and everytime I adjusted the sliders to make money, I'd still lose.

Maybe it's just me, but it took me awhile to even understand the sliders. Now I look back and I'm not sure. I never thought of selling tech on the payment plan, that's a great idea. Especially since I'm usually ahead on tech early on, only to get my butt handed to me later when those around me realize I have very little defenses.

Well my scores finally showed up after my 7th game... I still suck, but now I can record my scores. ;) I am having trouble with combat, but that's a point for another subject thread.

I have the same problem. I've submitted 4 games, and none of them have shown up yet. I am registered and use the same alias and email account. I do not have a firewall. I think you really need to have a success/failure message, and preferably the failure should have a reason, and give the player a chance to fix it and retry rather than just abort to the main screen.
