Can I sign up for a reserve list? I'll play if I'm needed to fill out the bracket or replace someone, but would prefer to let some other players participate this time around.
Same. I won't want to take a spot of somebody who's really eager to participate, but if there's not enough people to start, I'll definitely join.
InSyncOTC
Honestly, I didn't notice any big difference. One of the very few perks of playing with 5 fps on average. :D
InSync was that me? I remember doing that to someone and then having two aluminum auctions and a random aluminum surplus happen in that match [e digicons]-_-[/e] Also truth on the high carbon. Is that luck or has the terrain gen changed in beta 6 without me noticing?
No, I think that game was against Loader. But hey, it's great almost poetic when jerk moves get punished! As long as I am not the jerk.
I didn't have much time to further test the current built, but there were a couple of issues I stumbled upon in 1.5 games I had. 1. I'll start with quite a huge one: the buyout percentage is just not there! I suppose you won't notice that on manager, but try playing on CEO and you will. 2. At some point I couldn't place buildings despite the fact I had the resources/cash and also claims: http://i.i
Nope, no CS. :( Btw, I've met your buddy high carbon today. So they are still there, just hiding.
Well, if resource gen were well balanced, that would be quite an awesome solution. But as it is right now, this is hit or miss. I do like though, that now you can actually rely on the resources you're counting on when you found and not to have them hijacked by someone's jerk move. If you really want the tiles next to your opponent's HQ, you can sill get them with a little delay. Shorter timer makes it so you won't be too much behind.
Want to hear something really funny? The first auction was for the nuke... That didn't feel bad at all. Just... sad. No idea about carbon. Haven't play scav for a while myself. Probably there were no decent spots. Will pay more attention in the nearest future.
Yeah, I posted a screenshot earlier with the only aluminum patch on the map. Who do you think won, the expansive that squashed all of that aluminum leaving only enough for himself or... anyone else? No offworld rush problem in that game. [e digicons][/e]
4 hexes so it seems. I think I like this change. It makes sense. However, it will make maps with only 1 patch of aluminum/iron/carbon even more broken. And the timer is only visible for your own tiles, not opponents' tiles. The latter, however, is an easy fix, I believe.
IMO, the fact the OW are so crucial is good in general. When nobody bothered with them in betas 3-4 it just felt wrong. Is it Offword trading company or what? But they've become kinda silly in 1v1 since lab and adjacency nerf. I'm growing tired of OW rushes as well and don't want to see the game that used to be very dynamic and versatile turn into something linear. The problem is, that FFA's are very different from 1v1 and you can't really balance around one type of games
Now I can't believe I haven't noticed that before. I always assumed that maintenance resources were just maxed out if adjacent to supplying buildings or HQ, Seeing the numbers jump up and down without any decent order threw me off completely. Which is another evidence of how many things you need to pay attention to. Thanks for your speedy reply and clarification, Soren.
Here's the replay. Unfortunately, my computer barely runs the game, I wouldn't want to put it under additional stress with recording. http://www.filedropper.com/beta6-resourceconsumption Please watch my iron. At HQ lvl 1 everything seems fine. I produce 2 iron/s and consume 2 iron/s. I bought 47 iron after I had upgraded to lvl 2 and placed a third steel mill. Immediately I s
Yes, I looked closer and it seems to work the same way as it works in single player. The timer is shorter, so it confused me. Sorry about that.
Anything wrong with this picture? Oh well... maybe it's just me... Anyways, add this silliness to crazy resource consumption and QM are not very enjoyable ATM. And I'm being gentle here....
Still no working.
Try updating to the newest version and see if that helps. Also make sure that your firewall doesn't block Offworld.exe. If you can play other MULTIPLAYER Steam games just fine and OTC is not blocked, reinstalling it is probably your best bet. All of the above applies, of course, only if you are actually connected to Steam. Offline mode, Steam blocked by local security, no internet connection, Steam servers down and a few other connectivity related issues potentially could ca
Reliable? No... Occasional... With very lucky shortage(s) and/or very incompetent opponent. There's not enough pressure on prices so making money onworld is extremely difficult and almost isn't worth the trouble.
Additional minor issues: You can't see how many bonus resources you get if you found on top of them. I'm ok with the looks of new mines, but I'd like to see deposit level in addition to its type. Got occasional "White button" glitch as well. I'm on the fence re how new tile protection works and public research announcements. But it's probably just me being conservative. AI seems more competent.
No idea if that's something known by masses already, but I've just found out... When you're running in negative resource production, its consumption is badly miscalculated. You can see this in Zultar's recent video at 14:46 ( https://youtu.be/oWksPtKGz10?t=886 ). If you watch his water you can see he was only consuming 0.55 water/s but it jumped down way faster. From my tests I kinda felt it was tied to
Where is the typo? In custom rules there's no typo...
Great news! I'm really behind on this beta, so it's time to test it properly! So far things I've found (partially covered during last stream - can't remember which one was it Mohawk's or Zultar's) Bugs that need fixing: 1. No debt counter in reveal map - you found on blind (unless I am indeed blind and didn't see it somehow). 2. No resource counter either - you can onl
Sorry, wrong thread.
We are going to move to hosted servers at some point for QM, which should improve this situation significantly.
Thanks for the info, Soren. I needed that. I know you're doing what you can and much more than many other game devs do. I appreciate that and don't take for granted. I've been just really frustrated with the situation and today it was the straw that broke the camel's back. haha
I know this is not the place, but I've been having this urge to rant for quite a while. Any chance QM disconnects gonna be addressed somehow? Finding a match is not easy and that's quite annoying by itself, but when the game drops after you finally got one - it's just so much worse... Too much... Today I had a least half of my games dropped and I spent a good couple of hours playing. :( Ok... rant over... Sorry. Had to get this out of my system. [e digicons]X|[/e]
In your Steam game library go to OTC properties --> betas --> enter beta code "MohicanSun2015" --> check code --> in the drop down menu choose next_version and let the game update.
