Hi Aeolides, We're aware of the latency with the in-game interface. Jim (the interface designer) and I are working on making a new version with almost no latency. It will still be a couple of months before it comes online, but we believe it'll be a big step up from the current solution. As for the left-hand aspect, you bring up a go

Right now you can't get the game on a computer without Steam. Sorry. -Scott-
This is a known issue that (we believe) has been fixed in beta 3. Thanks! -Scott-
Yeah, that's something that I'm not sure exactly how to communicate. Here are the states that a building can be in: You don't have the money/resources. That one is pretty easy. You have some of the resources and enough money. Should we show how much you're going to pay? How much the total value is? You have all the resources. Should we show the value of the resources your consuming? Sometimes a building isn't worth the money in resources your consum
Good point! We're looking into that and will try to address that when we revise that screen in the future. -Scott-
Thanks for all the great feedback! I like the layout of the tooltip you made. That is a better way to organize it. When you say the resource icons, do you mean those in the tooltips or those that appear in the game world? Thanks again! -Scott-
Are you on the internal branch? I think you are. That's what we use during development to test out the game. We'll update it about every day. If you're on the normal branch (betas = none) you'll get an update about once a month and it'll be a lot more stable than our daily builds. :) You can stay on the internal branch if you want, but you'll be able to play multiplayer and have a more stable game if you stay on the normal branch. -Scott- <
You can try it, but I doubt it'll do much. Sorry. -Scott-
We're working on a new solution for the in-game UI that should be much faster than our current version. It will probably be another few betas away. (Probably in beta 5.) Thanks! -Scott-
New build is up. The only change is that observers don't have to "ready up" for the host to start a game. Enjoy! -Scott-
Here's a list of changes that we made for this version. Please let us know if things aren't working correctly! Gameplay Reveal Map is now a game mode. Map is revealed, but players who found early will be saddled with a great deal of debt compared to those who wait. No dust storms before founding a HQ. <
Ok, those who were helping me test: We need to use that branch for testing for the next version, so I'm going to take it down. I didn't get any reports back from people. Perhaps after the next version is up I can run the test again. Thanks! -Scott-
Thank you! We'll probably be looking at the problem in the next few days. -Scott-
I tested out the building sound effects and they seem to be working fine for me on the PC in the active build and in the next build. Please let me know if you find out anything more about what is causing the looping audio for the buildings not to play. Thanks! -Scott-
Just fixed the music looping. Will be in the next patch.
If people are experiencing this problem, please send me a PM to help me test and fix the problem. Thanks! -Scott-
Ok, I'll check that out. Are you using PC or Mac? Are you running the tutorial or skirmish or multiplayer? Thanks! -Scott-
Thanks for the great feedback! I'll share this with the team! -Scott-
Hey Zstrommen, Thanks for your feedback! I've plugged up most of the audio for the game and I completely agree. I've been working with our sound effects designers to try to make most of the sounds shorter, snappier, and clearer. We have a lot of audio that's simply old that needs to be replaced, but we haven't spent a lot of time fixing it yet but it will before the release. One of the challenges that we have is that I find that having voiceover provide
Hm. That's not good. Would you please submit a ticket at: https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/default_import/Knowledgebase/Article/View/523/173/general-offworld-trading-company-troubleshooting#support Thanks! -Scott-
I play a game or two on my Mac every night and it works fine. (Granted, I'm a dev, but I am being honest!) We fixed the cursor issue. The interface latency gets pretty bad, but we're working on that and it should be fixed within the next couple of months.
The building noise should be persistent. It's based on camera zoom level, so you may be zoomed too far out to hear it? We didn't want the game to sound too loud and noisy when you're visually far away. We also don't have sound effects for every building. The steel mill is a good one to test with. Can you please double check and let me know? I thought we made the background music loop in the last version, but I can double check tomorrow. Thanks!
We're working on improving the responsiveness of the UI in the game. I am adding to my task list an option to turn off the interface so that players can see how performance is without it. Please also fill out a ticket as Stardock support recommends. Thank you! We really want to get to the bottom of this issue!
Not that we're aware of. I would open a lobby for a couple of minutes to see if anyone will join. I'm pretty sure you could get a crew of 4 pretty quickly. -Scott-
Added to my task list. Thanks for letting me know about it! -Scott-
