After all of the discussion over the failure of Demigod and this company's inability to deal effectively with its never-ending cycles of problems and failed fixes, the fate of Elemental was emminently predictable. Too bad, I remember having some high hopes for it. There's a strong temptation to say "I told you so", but nobody's listening anyway. Next.

They treat their happy customers great, and when someone like me (an unhappy customer) comes along and shines a spotlight on some rough spots, it hurts to hear it, and your dismissal of me as "bitchy and ignorant" is predictable. I understand people who say "I don't purchase publishers, I purchase products", but the truth of the matter is that I do reward publishers that I respect by giving them the benefit of the doubt and trying out their new products. At the same time, there are companies who I know from experience I will avoid until I hear from the community that their game is worth buying, and then I'll put aside my feelings about the company and try the product. I don't hold grudges against companies, lol, for m

When did it become ok for the customer to be flamed when he complains about things that are not working? How much should the cus

OMG, this needs to be fixed lol. And then, after scripts are removed, the guy who put the music in this thread should be reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, his home should be fumigated, and his computer siezed, disassembled and the parts put on the next space shuttle.

Hot damn! That's what it was all along, apparently. Once I set up a wide enough port range on the router, and then reset the ports directed to each machine, and then reset them on each machine with the supplied uitility, it worked. We played several 3x3's without incident. Thanks guys for the suggestion. I thought I'd tried everything, but obviously didn't know that port forwarding had to be done on an individual pc basis. Glad it's working, but omg I feel sorry for those fo

Ah, I was not aware that the port forwarding had to be done individually per PC. So I take it this means that I have to go into my router and set up a *different* set of ports for each of the DHCP assigned local IPs? I'm not sure what port mapping utility you're referencing. Although as it was pointed out above, we are actually getting into the lobby, connecting, and starting the game, so if that's not possible using the same ports then how are we able to do this? Where can I get this port ma

I posted my configuration in another message (in the "Connection Problem? I didn't get a response to that message. In fact, the only response I've ever had from Stardock is when I've posted this type of message out of frustration and started getting critical. Right. Like all 6 of the players in my game tonight. I'm sure it was just a coincidence that the 5% of the player population who are having problems all wound up in the same game. [e digicons]XD[/e]

I wouldn't be surprised to see you not get flamed. It's hard to disagree with what you've said (particularly the way you stated it) and responses are at this point pretty much limited to "Why are you posting this" and "it works for me". BTW, I like your forum avatar and still have that box on my bookshelf. [e digicons]B)[/e]

You don't usually get a 2nd chance to have a successful launch. Once word on the street is out that the product isn't working as expected at launch, that reputation is hard to shake. That's how I discovered Sacred II on the Xbox. I downloaded the latest patch and will try that out. I have to admit I was lured (again) by the dev sense of confidence in stating that the multiplayer problems are "behind us" now. Here's hoping.

The good news: it's a great game concept and really well executed game design. Well balanced, strategic, and full of tactical subtlety. The bad news: this *ain't* battle.net. Some people are facing major problems getting multiplayer games to work reliably. Read some of the Developer Journals to follow the detective work they've been going through to try and find the problems. They claim to have made progress since the launch, and some reports support this claim, while others (lik
