Yeah, it stinks that this guy can't play the game... but it's $40. Suck it up and move on, geez.
Don't confuse one man's expression of opinion with another's hijacking legal threats lol.
Where is this mention of time off I keep hearing about?
This wasn't about "time off", it was about a post telling us that the team was taking the Memorial Day weekend off while the house was on fire. Nobody denies that developers need time off, you can't and shouldn't work them to death. Tracking your own hours isn't the point, it's obvious you've been working very hard and I'm sorry if you think this message was about my wanting an

He's not on some trip, he's absolutely right. Sedna is a healer, of course, but Sedna is not designed to primarily heal the rest of the team. And he never suggested he doesn't take Heal, he clearly stated that when he can heal another he does, and I do, too. I always keep an eye out for my teammates when they're involved in a fight nearby, especially if we have an opportunity to 2x1 someone and I just love waiting for that Pounce opportunity to finish them off or

Sydeamon, No, you're right, of course the variables are different, I know that and I'm sure there are plenty of other complexities that I'm not aware of. Look, it's not my intention to beat down the dev team any more than they are feeling already. My comments are aimed at management, not the devs. I just think that when you have this much trouble with a product, it doesn't make a lot of sense to post messages to your customers telling them that you're taking time off, and touting new

Yeah, I knew the post would draw some heat, I'll live. [e digicons]B)[/e] As for the software management angle, I've never had to make my team work overtime to fix a problem like this. What usually happens is that team itself feels sufficiently committed to fixing the problem that they themselves volunteer to do what's necessary to get it working. Someone from Stardock posted in this thread that they've been working 14 hour days and that just signals a red flag to me. I would never ha

Oh yeah, I've tried all the suggestions including the /proxyserveronly switch, re-setting the router, checking my speednet connection. C'mon guys, you know it's not a problem on *my* end lol. And I'm happy for those few of you who can say "No problems here". That doesn't exactly help the situation that is obviously continuing for everyone else who is still having problems, a situation that is acknowledged by the continuing posts on the topic. Look, I don't usually post rants like this, I usua

Title asks the key question. I don't know about most of you, but my multiplayer experience has deteriorated steadily since launch. I've tried all the "workarounds" and have a high-end rig with a great connect (both UL and DL), a compatible router with working port forwarding, and yet I cannot remember the last time I played a match that didn't have horrible issues. Ordinarily I would just stfu and patiently wait for the hard-working dev team to do their job, but in the midst of all this

Let me get this straight. You weren't sufficiently embarassed at your first post in which you: 1) Admitted publicly that you did not follow directions; 2) Admitted publicly that instead of trying to sort out the problem you assumed it was a scam and overreacted; 3) Got pwned by Stardock support who publicly verified your account and asked if maybe you typed in the wrong PW (lulz) 4) and then, as if that wasn't bad enough, you come back and criticize t

To keep the chess metaphor alive, everyone knows that books on chess openings are useful and probably mandatory for learning how to play competitively, but you'll never hear a grandmaster claim that any one opening will always win.

Do you have to use /proxsyserverlonly? Not everyone has to. When you do that your packets have to go from you to whereverthehelltheyarelocated and back, times your opponents. What happens when you don't use that?

I have to add my voice to the crowd of folks who were not having any problems before but are completely unable to play now. That's Skirmishes, Custom games, Pantheon, nothing over the 'net. The only thing that works here now is local LAN play. The problem that I suspect is that we are three players in the same household using one Internet connection. Here are the details: Three high-end gaming rigs, one running XP Pro fully patched and SP'd, two running Vista Ultim

When I say "class defining", I don't mean that the skill is the "primary skill" or the "favored skill" of the class, that would be circular logic. What I mean by "class defining" is that, whether the skill is good or not, it provides the function that the character is designed to perform and without which he isn't that character. The heals might be lousy, but they are the skills that provide that thing that a healer does. A healer can't heal without a heal spell. That's a class defi

Brad can't win: if he posts all the dirty laundry he will get lambasted for the drama; if he keeps his nose to the grindstone he will get skewered for ignoring his customers. So what else is new? You can't please everyone and it's foolish to try. Welcome to the big leagues of business. I don't think the issue of updates and transparency means all that much in the end because forum participants are only a small and very un-representative bunch of fickle folks. The small army

I'll add a vote for Replays. I agree that investing time in the AI is a waste of resources. This is either a MP game or it isn't. If you want it to also be a single player game then don't bother with a half-ass attempt that simply "upgrades" the AI. Add a campaign. A real campaign with existing AI would be far better than just "improving" AI and believing that this will satisfy single players. If your idea is to improve AI in order to give MP players the ability to prac

I don't understand why he posts provocative messages and then doesn't come back in to discuss the issues or at least acknowledge the points made and provide agree-to-disagree closure. Instead we're left feeling like it's a monologue rather than a dialog and wondering if we were heard. I know he's busy as hell, and I suppose it's better that he's posting and not participating further rather than not posting at all, but it's a shame that he can't find the time to at least acknowledge

Honestly, you're trying to solve a problem with technology that is incapable of providing a solution. In order to make this "fair" and avoid massive frustration, you have to distinguish between intentional quits and hardware disconnects. How on earth are you going to be able to distinguish between someone who's machine or ISP caused a disconnect, and the guy who just pulls his network cable out in order to rage quit? When you can answer that question, I'll sign up for your proposal.

So if Erebus had only two abilities, Mistform and Morale, would you have to neuter mistform until it was as bad as morale? I think you cannot exclude an ability as 't
Anytime a skill is considered too good to pass up and becomes part of essentially every build that uses the character, the skill is overpowered and needs to be balanced to encourage other paths. Okay, what other builds do you suggest for erebus who has no other melee skill to keep him alive, the lowest HP, and lowest armor melee demigod alive? Ignorant logic at it's best. [/

I love this game and most of the things that you guys do, but this idea is really loopy and needs to be retired. Adding a way for players to segregate the community is just such a bad idea for a thousand reasons, including that you're feeding griefers a great new tool. News that an official "ban list" is coming this Fall makes me shake my head and wonder why you aren't focusing instead on making the game more compelling to *play* rather than creating ways for people to keep others from playin
