I've interrupted flag locks, amulet of teleportation, and occaisionally potions and sedna heals. More oftenly though, I have snared someone so that my partner can continue auto attacking them. I've also finished off someone almost dead with it directly. Taking shield at level 1 often means not having anything helpful to do until level 2, unless we make a big mistake.

That's insane... shouldn't it check when the 'start game' button is hit who the players are, not when they just join a chat room? Guh. Anyone know a way to avoid this? I don't *really* pay close attention to my stats, but this is just so negative to me. I mean, if I lose I'll man up about it, but this is like getting detention for something you didn't do.
Though, Penitence is always an interrupt, and a snare, which is why I think it is more important at level 1 than shield. Also, saying shield 'counters' other things isn't completely true. It costs more, and on a Demigod that has poor starting mana. So while I do use it to remove a level 2 spit off of my poor 1600 hp regulus buddy, it isn't an automatic use against such things.
Was checking my games list recently, and noticed a game I hadn't recalled the name for, so I clicked on it... THIS is what I found. Obviously it was a 2v2... but not one that I (or even Magla) had participated in. It saddens me to know that I let my team down, apparantly,
3 mana hats is too manay. If you really want mana, use the Blade of the Serpent, and get a point in angelic fury, and you'll do fine with just Unbreakables and maybe Vlemish. Secondly, Mines 3 changes your Mines burst damage from 700 to 1200... get it at level 7 without delay. It is one of the biggest skill improvements in the game, and far more valuable than a second point in sniper scope.
Well, we aren't arguing whether or not it is realistic to get to level 20, just at level 20, who is strongest. It is kinda like comic book nerds arguing over whether superman or batman would win in a fight. (Depends on if batman has the 5x crit insta-takedown yet, of course).
Shield 3 is fantastically good. 6 seconds of stun immune time is truly an epicly powerful effect. It is the best 'rescue' effect in the game, since it guarantees continued support from a player for 6 more seconds. They don't HAVE to run away, and can sometimes get off one or two more abilities, and auto attack of course. Only reason I hold off on getting it earlier all the time, is because it is much less useful in a pug match, where most allies just run away to crystal when they get sh
I think we should talk a bit about ntropies point. I think that his balance conern is legitamite. Having just recently watched one of Pacov's pre vs pre replays, where all players got blood of the fallen, all generals got monks, and everyone got banded armor etc as fast as possible... I think we can safely say that healing/hp is not balanced right. Ntropy suggests increasing the effects of damage boosting items and/or reducing the effects of priests idol minions. M
Snipe + Heavan's Wrath = 800 damage at max range (550 + 250). 3 players = 2400 damage. Starting health after Blood of the Fallen? Rarely much more than that. Available at level 1. If you really want to talk bummer numbers, I'd start with that one. (Of course, all three regs at max range isn't very likely, but you get the idea).
I think the most interesting thing about that 4v4 on leviathan (First replay vs saramis et al) is the two Erebus builds. Quintassential Assassin build (Has full mass charm, and bat swarm) vs a... wonky hybrid. I think Kallel was trying 'something' out, but it doesn't end up working. He gets killed due to a lack of batswarm early. Having myself tried a 'no batswarm' build with Erebus... and suffering similar defeat at the hands of worthy opponents, I think it is safe to say that no
Yeah, Sedna just doesn't bring the horses past level 12 or so. She is still pretty good support, but she has absolutely no AoE to speak of, and doesn't get any better at assassinating DG's. I'd vote for either Beast or Oak. Beast with ooze 4 is really hard for anyone to kill once HP start getting past 7000. No one deals near that amount of ability damage, and -40% auto attack is brutal. Of course, Oak has abilities that synergize AND scale. Faster attack speed, amplified
I like to Dual Wield Ashkandor's using the item-drop bug. (Drop Item, click on item to pick it up, at same moment click to buy another of same item, both will end up in inventory. Works best with opposing players around.) It's also a good idea to make sure and get 4 or 5 kills before war rank 3, so you can pick up an extra Godplate or two.
I'm always trying to learn and get better at the games I play. Recently I've been playing oak a fair amount, and tried out a few thing with him, just because I wanted to see how they work, and I'd love to hear what other, successful, players have been doing with him. First, let me quickly discuss my current build: Penitence Divine Justice Shield Penitence Surge of Faith Divine Justice Penit
Yeah, there are some reasons. TB can often get away with it too, simply because he generates so much more mana than anyone else. That said, if I were teaching a new player, I'd tell them "Never use mana on creeps" and be pretty confidant in it improving their playing power. Just played another game, and saw yet another person get Plenor Battlecrown as their first mana item. I mean, it isn't like these games are on Leviathan...
I play QoT in an interesting fashion. I get Spit at level 1, and then Ooze at level 2. I'll save 3 and then get spit and ooze again (both) at level 4. I'm pretty sure this is the best way to go about it. Also helps to get Blade of the Serpent, or Heavan's Wrath. All kidding aside, when I play her (I think I did that once) I used basically Homestar's build. She has only 3 playable skills, might as well use them.
I'm 100% sure that most players think the proper way to play the mana side flag is to abandon it and go 3v2 on the side. I've had this happen to me so often it hurts "Wtf.. reg, weren't you on the other flag?" "Lulz, you guys needed help, so I came!" SMITER "HAX!".
News Flash: Don't get caught in a 3v1. That is all.
Biggest Mistakes Not buying currency 1 as soon as you get war rank 3. There really isn't any excuse for this in 3v3 or better. Buying Plenor Battlecrown before other mana items. What the heck guys, it is an awesome SECOND helmet... but get the vlemish first if that is your 'thing'. Use mana abilities on Creeps. Seriously, hammer slamming away on guys you can easily kill in a few seconds just isn't worth it. Boots of Speed Overuse. Seri
Well, after a few more games I'm tweaking it: Snipe Fury Mines Mines Mark Maim Mines Scope Save Mines + Mark I agree that the extra angelic fury isn't worth as much as other one off skills. In fact, most of Regulus' Skills are worth a single point to get most value. Not mines or Mark though
Demigod: Torchbearer What is the balance issue? TB has two aura's, one in fire mode that makes him attack/move faster and do more damage, and one in ice mode where he slows others and regenerates mana. Since he cannot 'chase' someone in fire mode, where the speed and damage boost would seem to make the most sense, it makes the value of these two skill lines out of proportion, and at the very least inappropriate. What kind of Solution?<
So, I've been playing Regulus recently, and trying out a new build for him. I generally find that when push comes to shove, Regulus has only a few abilities that really pack a punch: Mines Mark Snipe Mark of the Betrayer is the strongest Snare in the game, especially noticeable at level 2. -40% speed will cause maximum speed reduction in a lot of cases. Mines are his best Burst damage skill, and Snipe is what makes him unique on a battlefield
I know I'm not making friends here with this assertion, but you know I'm right: You do not get >80% win rate by usually playing fair matches.
My longest win streak of 20 games was virtually all pick-up games, with a few, like 3 or 4, that were with my friends.
The Cuirass is really no good when it comes to damage. 5% chance for a 1.5 crit means, on average, that you get... 2.5% more damage per attack. That's pretty bad. Consider that at level 10 you may only be doing 300 dps of which 2.5% is 7.5 damage. Big whoop. In comparison, the Slayers Wraps give +30 damage and 10% chance of 2x crit. That's 30 + an average of 10% more damage from the crit changing your 300 dps into 363, a total 63 more damage! (Note the above is assum
Simon, Slave of kThung is a little different than most Demigods, in that he is not so much the main character, compared to the powerful Demon who controls him. He starts with the ability "Summon kThung" that summons a powerful Demonic Creature from the Abyss, who has enslaved this 'Demigod'. kThung is essentially immortal, but doing damage to him will cause him to become unsummoned, and killing Simon will of course sever his ties with this Plane of Existence. So yeah, he acts just
Why cant you just play towers AND hammer rook. You can play both of them at the same time very easily.
Only to an extent. I think the real difference between Tower Rook, and Hammer rook, are that Hammer Rook also has shoulder mounts. At level 10, everyone should have hammer slam 4, and probably Boulder Roll 2. But that's only 6 skills out of your 10 at that point. How many towers/shoulder mounts you fill in is really
