So, the only thing I compared that has any requirement for significant experience is game balance, where I correctly didn't attempt to insinuate anything on HoN. I think that is as fair as is reasonable. Will the models look better after I've played for a few more weeks?

I don't think I saw this mentioned yet, but Monk idol minions can get stuck 'inside' your own citadel, and the only way to free them is to either upgrade the idol, die, or teleport. I don't have a replay of it, I don't think, but I'll try to get one if I remember.
Consider 2v1, you spit on him. Does he mist and back for 2 seconds, giving your team room to surround him? What if he only has mana to bat swarm OR mist? Most 3v3 games are a combination of 2v2, 1v1, and 2v1 scenarios (Depending on lane split) so don't discount how to play when up a man.. or down one. (If you are in a losing battle, the spit sticks because he can't persue and mist at the same time).
Actually what did win you the game, is what would have won you the game for the last 15 minutes there... attacking the citadel. All you guys did was farm kills and hope your giants would do the dirty work. That Enemy TB had more health and armor than the citadel did for most of the game. You were running to gank people at the health crystal, doing 500 damage per second. If you'd just focused that damage for 16 seconds on the citadel, the game would have long since been
In multi person combat though, forcing a mist isn't necessarily unworth it. You'll still do a bit of damage (contact damage at least) and he'll 'self stun' by misting. If I had a choice to spit on someone else, I generally would, but it isn't always as easy as 'He will just mist away the damage'.
The people on the team with the AI almost always think it shouldn't be done...
Oh, learning curve, I completely meant to write about that actually. Hmm. I'll edit it in.
Right up until the point when the game starts, HoN blows Demigod out of the water. But once in game, there are very few redeeming qualities to it. Demigod Heroes of Newerth Models Very detailed, easy to tell apart from one another A lot of them are very simila
Honestly, an early death sucks, but it really isn't the end of the world. In fact, very few single incidents cause a lost match that early (late game events like a portal lock, team whipe, etc are so much bigger). Ultimately you lose a bit of xp and the opponents gain some. This is not good, but not game losing. What is more important though is what actions caused the death. A lot of people play too conservatively in the first few levels because they want to level up.
Wrath isn't bad in a pinch too when you just need to clear a wave of bad guys so you can focus on the DG's right there. Better than wasting a rain of Ice, or shrapnel mines.
I was about to comment on this and talk about it being such a noob build... but I realize it was posted in May, and decided I'd save it my Ire. Note to noobs, this build only works well against poor players/ai
Quoting DeathWeaVer666, reply 11When you Wrath some creeps in a place you aren't, but an ally DG is near the creeps, the both of you get 50% of the xp, am I wrong? So... you "steal" 50% of the xp of your mate would have had by killing them alone. you are wrong. xp of creeps getnot devided among the demigods. both get FULL XP reward.
Yes, yes it does get divided. This is why two demi
In the beginning the 6 gold per half second on Cataract come from the 3 gold mines (2 are at the portals). Without any of these 3 flags you have 0 income. The citadel has does not produce gold. Also, if you cap the enemy gold flag, your gold income goes from 6g every half second to 8g every half second. So my number (4 gold per second per gold mine) is right. By locking an enemy portal on Cataract you deny the enemy not only hi
Each 'award' you get at the end of a game gives you favor. Winner = 75, participatnt = 40. All others are either 10 or 15.(most are 15). So you get more favor by getting more awards.
You ping with the P key? Honestly? M,N,O are good for ordering minions about? I'm pretty sure any 'hot key' not bound somewhere on the left hand might as well not exist.
Erebus is the lord of the dance too. Batswarm is just that good of a skill for avoiding death, so don't be too surprised if you don't get to kill him.
I have multiple times gotten level 5 mid combat with beast, and immediately learned foul grasp. I could see an argument though for putting items on z,x,c,v though.
It can't be that hard to implement. When it generate the name, simply pop up a text box, pre filled with the generic name, and let the user edit it. Save and send that information to the saving algorithm as the name of the file to save as. I mean, the code to actually save a replay is a million times harder compared to that fairly minor thing there. And I can almost guarentee most of the work on the new DG's is just model work, and those guys don't likely touch the functiona
Yeah, Heaven's Wrath can be used in really bad ways.. but it can also really mess up peoples 'fight or flight' math, or at worst, cause them to run earlier.
Let's take a look at flag locks from a different perspective: Locking a gold flag in a 3vs3 on Cataract. You will deny the enemy team 4 gold per second for 3 players for (at least!) 45 seconds. 4*3*45 = 540 gold and some warscore. Your team will get these 540 gold and the warscore. Thus a 250g lock pays off in a gold difference of at least(!) 1080 gold and some warscore. I do this as much as possible, but
Thought it'd be nice to compare notes as to what people have changed their keys to. My current changes: Ping: Moved to F (So I can tap it easily during game) Summon Idol Minion: Order reversed, 5 = Priests, 7 = Minotaur. I almost always use Priests, rarely use Minotaurs... so why make me hit 7?? Use Favor Item: Caps Lock. This is why I involuntarily yell at my teammates sometimes. But having a quick ringfinger key to start a favor item
Got a replay of me and my mates playing a game where the opposing Queen was 'uproot specced'. She faced off against our rook (who had one point in towers) and kept UPROOTING his towers. Over the course of the game, she only killed two real towers. Not exactly the aggro strat I think she was expecting.
As has been said many times, they were not removed due to their normal effects being overpowered, but due to buggy effects surrounding them.
I think a link is in order: http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2002/10/4/
A little discussion on Favor Items: I really believe that a favor item operates as a distinguishing element for a build. The difference between, for instance, a Blade of the Serpent Beast, and a Blood of the Fallen Beast can be big, EVEN IF THEY USE THE SAME SKILLS! In that vein, I think favor items should allow for another of customization, and should try to allow a DG to focus on a different aspect of their build. The Coin purse should be a t
