One of the things I always think when playing, is that the builds that are the strongest, are those that work the best in teams. 1v1 is good, but 2v2 or more is where the action is. Generally this comes in the forms of stuns. As Regulus has no stuns, however, I opted a different Approach: Slows. Favor Item: Poisoned Dagger First 1000 Gold: Just a Banded Armor, save rest. Skills over first Ten Turns: Mine1 <p style="paddin
How many times are you really using your HoL during a match?
A Quick breakdown of that question. Well, let's be honest, considering it gives 4500 mana over 10 seconds too, you often use it once every 30 seconds, while in 'combat' (assuming you get to fight during those 30 seconds). That's a Large health potion (3000 health) a Large mana + a small mana (4500 mana, just about) every 30 seconds, or about 900 gold

A few quick Rebuttals. I won't quote anyone in specific to limit the flamey-ness these kind of threads can become: 1) "I got better, and no longer think the HoL is good anymore." -- This isn't much of an argument, since you are attempting to factor in player quality as part of what makes an item strong or weak. I have raised points such as how the item effects the tempo of the game, and how it accents too strongly a team with an advantage. 2

I'm generally cautiously optomistic about balance problems when I first notice them. Afterall, most times something looks imbalanced is right after it beat you, or you think that it beat you. Maybe it wasn't unbalanced, so much as you were just sucking? Anyhow, I've kept my eye on the Heart for a while now, and I really think it is the worst effect on the game, in the game. First, a few anecdotes: 1.

Nothing quite like Hitting Oaks AoE ability to kill a wave a creeps, and healing everyone on your team in the area for a few hundred hit points. That ability is good . It isn't high damage, but it is high effect . Same with Penitence. The combination makes for a good team effect. Enemy takes more damage from everyone, friends get health, mana, and speed.

I remember deriving that particular bit of math late one night. Probability is really impressively difficult to internalize. I mean, the (1-NOT^Chances) method is a bit odd, but makes sense. Trying to logically figure out: "What are the chance that you will get at least 3 30% success in a run of 10" which doesn't sound complicated, is waaay outside how you generally think about numbers.

I think the Ideas behing "Dancing" are wrong. 2v2's are almost always lost when one team is doing the alternate running/not running, while the other is just standing ground and attacking. The reason is that the running team is doing half of it's potential damage, while the attacking team is doing all of it. One team takes 100% of damage to one character, at worst, the other does 50% damage total. It is a significantly better strategy to have extender effects
Yeah I can add that np - now that I know where to look Edit: Flags are actually a bit more complicated than I thought. There are two ways to get XP/Gold from a flag, actually capturing it, and moving the bar. Capturing a flag gets you 100 + ( 2 * level ) xp and 25 Gold. Moving the bar by one tick gets you 2 xp and 2 + ( 0.3 * level ) Gold. All this values are also divided by the number of demigods in proximity.<br /

A few things that'd be great to add: What is the formula for getting gold from killing DG's? Assist? What about XP? I have heard that capping flags or killing buildings get xp and Gold... how much? etc etc. That'll definitely make your guide a bit more definitive.

Even with Boots of Speed, that puts UB movement at 6.9 with no slowing capabilities. Anyone that can enhance their own speed or slow you more than 10% (which seems like everyone) will negate your boot bonus. I still don't see how either build could keep up with anyo

I really truly think it IS viable, just not early. Late game, we all know how DPS from normal attacks starts dominating, and this ability works very well with that. Seriously, try the build I posted there, I think you'll be pleased. The big difference is that Sedna's Yeti's are simply worthless, all the live long day. BW just takes a while before it is worth picking up much of it.

Interesting. A few perhaps obvious things to point out: 1) Ranged attackers can get in their full effect from the gauntlets without suffering for a lack of defense (At least, in many cases). 2) When you aren't fighting to the Death, banded mail can be even MORE effective. Sitting around for 60 seconds will heal you another 300 health afterall. 3) Unclean beast has the highest starting armor in the game, so he gets the least advantage from Scale mai

I think Transitive is making a good point. During the course of a combat there is a certain amount of your total health that is being done by mitigatible attacks. For instance, I play Rook and start with Blood of the Fallen. That's ~2700 hit points at level 1. There is only so much ability damage an opponent can dish out, all your HP beyond that point is effected by armor. In the above example that's often 1500 or more damage. You can also think of it another way,

25 Replies 3,427 Views

I notice you Banded Armor over Scale Mail? I don't really agree here. I think though that the items you buy are very dependant on the Favor item you start with. For instance, Banded Armor makes more sense if you picked up the Anklet. Anyhow, my top 5, excluding the Heart: 5. Nimoth's Chestplate. Early game defense is very important. This item gives both health and armor in big ways, for a reason

Screw that. This game is, by very definition a game of management. Those of us who do well and smoothly transition between modes to get bonus' shouldn't have our skill nullified by a dumbing down of the system.

Angelic Fury and/or mark of Betrayer are solid area of effect abilities that can do very well against a General. Another item you may consider is the Parasite Egg. A good DPS item, that also lets you focus on Oak while also killing his minions (Very important vs oak, because his minions give him strength).

18 Replies 3,653 Views

Yeah, Those item purchases are waaaay too poor. However, I think the idea that a tower focus is not needed is completely valid. However, that said, i don't think you need that many points in structural transfer. It just doesn't scale particularly well. As health goes, the % of your total decreases very quickly. For damage, it quickly falls behind just normal attacks. Also, level 1 Hammer Slam does very little. Everyon
