One of the things that has been tossed around (and there's a graphic for it) are chests that are randomly placed on the field that give little early bonuses (experience, mild stat bonuses, etc.) to give players an incentive to get out there early and do things other than go for flags or hang out at the item shop.
It sounds interesting but I dont want to playing vs players than lose because he picked up a chess giving him 1k gold or +300 hp or whatever. You can chat while your dead, no? Agreed they need to at least remove that crazy blurry stuff or let us look at shops etc. It looks good, but its boring :)
If day0 patch gameplay changes are just purely numbers adjustments, then the game isn't going to be giving a very good first impression imo.
Its been officially announced that there will be purely number adjustments for day0 patch, so nothing else. Numbers can change A LOT in a game. Can make some builds completely viable/not viable or balanced and not balanced.
Good find and post :) Cooldown increase is too OP anyway...
Why dont DotA fanboys wait 5 years than comeback?

Answer: because there's no reason the game can't be just as good or almost as good NOW. It's not that far off, really, it just needs some tweaking, some added features or number balancing, perhaps some skill changes, a few more Demigods with more varied skillsets, and things could change dramatically. Waiting 5 years is not at all necessary.
Im saying that DotA fanboys are s
A Demigod "creator" would be ideal
That could be a really really good idea :P Give a pool of balanced skills. About 7 skills for each character is allowed. There are about three Skill 1's, three Skill 2's, three Skill 3's (etc. until Skill 7). You cannot choose two Skill 1's or two Skill 2's (etc. to 7). This would mean that balance would be fairly easy/easier. For example - Skill 1 pool would be Hammer Slam, Bite, Spit. You would have to choose only one of thes
We'll see but the bigger the change the less likely they are to put it in - thats jus the way it works. Tbh I really like your idea, just realistically i dont think they will putting it in.... They wont even put in a small teleport animation (hopefully they will) to the location someone is teleporting to - i doubt they would change/modify the skills so much. Hopefully its something they can implement later
its meant to be very small...but for some reason some of us had to download it at larger sizes (e.g. 500mb) because it wanted to replace what it thought to be "old" files. Sux
I'm sorry you think comparing a Swear-It's-Not-A-Clone Clone to the game it's cloning is "just fail."
Even IF DG was a clone of DoTA, the gameplay is still different to an extent that you just cannot compare strats and costs from the two games. Its simply idiotic and just doesnt work. And just because they are same genre, doesnt mean they are clones. Does DotA have flags? (one of DG's biggest gameplay mechanics). Can you upgrade your minions hp/armour/type in Do
Although your ideas are great - the change is simply too big, and they cannot make changes so big before release. Instead of making it so complex, it just needs a simple nerf so a ice TB cannot do 2.9k damage instantly. Ontop of the insta 2.9k damage you will also suffer from pretty extreme movement AND attack slowdown. Oh, and I did mention after you get stunned you will also have all your skills cooldowns increased by 10 seconds? So basically, you cant do anything now. If you try
Micah - here: 1. Have our movement speed increased. UB Starts off with 6.3 base speed (Reg has 0.3) and can further that with passive upgrades via his skill tree. That combined with swift anklet and maybe boots of speed can make you really fast and he wont be able to hit and run. 2. Stun him. Plain and Simple. Reg has pretty shitty armour + hp so once you've got him stunned it allows the melee player to get close and finish him quick. 3. Warpstones - as mentioned be
"What happens to the animation when several Demigods from the same team warp to the same location?" You say they overlap. Fine, that's an acceptable gameplay solution. However, that now needs to be tested by the development team. Can the engine handle the overlapping animations? Are there scenerios that exist where the animation will not play properly? What about low end machines, will they render the animation correctly? THAT'
Starcraft takes "Skill" and practice to play, no one argues that,... but what it doesn't do, is offer a lot of strategic depth .
Care to expand. As far as I know it offers the most strategic depth that a rts has so far.
Why dont DotA fanboys wait 5 years than comeback?
Sorry but you just cant compare DotA to Demigod this much. Comparing strats and costs of items with two compeltely different games? Sorry, its just fail. Mist you cannot gain any hp...but you lose a lot of mana - where is the problem? Erebus is, imo, the most UP Demigod in the game, and you want his mist nerfed AGAIN? I agree with the gauntlets though. 1.5k for such a high chance of doing a MASSIVE slow down is just a joke.
What is the point of making a guide in a game's BETA stage? Please don't forget this game is still in BETA. How many times do we have to repeat that to get it into some people's heads? This game is still in BETA phase
Sorry remind me why you cant make guides for a game in its beta stages?
the simple truth is that it isn't 1998 anymore.
Are you sure? Its the most played RTS game in the whole word and it is widely accepted it has the most depth and the largest competitive scene.
What are you basing this 5v2 claim on? Not to be snarky, I'm just curious if you have a source behind your claims.
Frogboy.
Do you honestly thing that GPG is staffed with n00bs that create items and systems via a dartboard?
The favour items so far are certainly unbalanced - but again, I am more concerned about the stronger ones that will apparently be release. Would you rather have +12 vision or have cooldowns reduced by 50%? You see w
Flags are fine imo.
Please, Starcraft 2 will be out in 2012 - dont even mention that. With the lack of good competitive RTS's these days I wouldnt be suprised to see quite a few of em come to DG and give it a go :)
Definately agree. Really annoying having to try and get that perfect camera angle again after dying.
Yea sometimes I see the effects sometimes I dont...
Pretty much everything you mentioned + cloak of night, anklet and wards hammer.
I see where you coming from but my concern isnt about the fact that people will not be able to afford the favour items. Thats easy, and as you said can be farmed pretty easily. Its the fact they are freaking unbalanced...and I cant even imagine how unbalanced they will get when they start adding the stronger ones that will apparently allow a 5v2 to be possible.
looks good indeed :)
