The Trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2Pv7TtV8js suggests otherwise. Why should they introduce a story if it is basicly optical pimped chess?
They didn't introduce a story. They introduced lore. In an interview, the devs said that they will do a campaign, but it will be totally different from anything else in the game. It will be completely unique. There will be items, much more customisable cap ships etc. I was glad to hear that because its going

Vasari have great firepower and really tough ships. Phase missiles are very powerful, and their cap ships DO support the fleet effectively. Kortul with Volatile Nanites is very dangerous and Skirantra with Repair Cloud is good too. Their turrets are pretty good and they got very strong SC. All races are balanced. Rather then whinge that a certain race is weak, figure out how to play as them first.
Just to make things even better, The new update doesn't run pervious saved games. Go fig. every time there's an update you got to start all over again.
Or you can wait and finish your current game and then update.
Alas, 7 hours into a 8 player all hard game. Get told there's an update in Impulse, Update, Run the game. Try and load my save file and bang, mini dump ping in the background.
The Sins website warns you that this will happen.
Do the TEC and Advent SBs have some sort of advantage to negate the mobility of an Orkula?
TEC and Edvent don't get advantages to negate to mobility of the Orkulas becuase the Orkulas is the Vasari's anti-SB unit. Vasari need that advantage becuase they lack an assualt cruiser.
Also is there any gravity well aside from stars where you can have multiple SBs?
No.
I HATE campaigns in RTS games. They usually suck and they provide less freedom then normal games. Sins is great, it does not need one. Better diplomacy in the next expansion should satisfy most of us. In fact, I hate RTS campaigns because I play Sins. I don't miss a story mode at all.
But if you are expecting a ,sort of, interactive Sci-fi movie you should not.
Sins is marketed as a RT4X, not as an interactive Sci-Fi movie. Why wou
There is no "destroy 300 capitals" acheivement, you must have misread that. I think its 30. Anyway, achievements do not carry over between games.
Has anyone else experienced this? I can't select units that are in the top-right-hand corner of the screen. If a unit is just below the Black Market box, then I can click on it, but nothing happens.
Why didn't you backup the data that you had?
My PC froze on startup. I couldn't backup the data that I had because I could not log on. Its fine now though.
Very cool!
it was going to be the Advent's minelayer orbital module. The devs thought it'd make a better anti-fortification ship.
Interesting.
It also says there is a big layer of water above the atmosphere.
They are called CLOUDS. Water DOES actually exist in the atmosphere, you know.
Like you said, SBs really should get noticeable differences in appearance when you upgrade them. SB should also spawn rubble when destroyed. Labs don't need guns, but I would like to see more customizable cap ships. I've heard that the next expansion will include this.
This change would require that Seige Frigates get an even bigger buff then what they need now. It does not sound necessary top me personally, but it could make a big difference. interesting.
RA costs resources to activate. About 2500 credits plus metal and crystal to recieve ships.
Thanks for that. You were a great help.
maybe you cant see them because its an hidden file on xp i have that problem too but after i put show hidden on i can see it in the files
How do I show hidden files? Don't worry, I just figured it out.
Great work, IgnusDei! I'm curious about that last one. What exactly is this Void Matter Generator? It looks alike the Advent Starfish cruiser. Was that model originally going to be used for something else?
I had to format my PC recently and I lost all my acheivements. Worse, I had just finished a Go Big or Go Home game, so I lost that acheivement as soon as I got it. How do I get my acheivements back? Also, my Local Settings/Application Data folder is missing. When I take a screenshot, it says it has saved it to that folder, but it is not in My Documents or my C drive.
You got some nice screenshots there. I really like the last one. Someone should also start a TEC screenshot thread. I can't take screenshots though because Local Settings/Application Data etc. is missing. Oh well.
I have been having alot of of problems with Impulse, Sins and Entrenchment. First, I try to install the full version of Entrenchment. Sins and Impulse then stop working. I get my computer formated, every thing was wiped, I started from scratch. I just downloaded Sins off of Impulse which works now, but when it fully downloaded, I clicked on "install" and it didn't install it just started to redownload. I cancelled it but could this cause problems if it ha
Now, I personally think that's needlessly risky. If you're good enough to kill off an opponent on the rush, then you don't need the tiny extra amount of cash you get from scuttling the capital ship factory. If you don't kill them off on the rush, you're better off just leaving it for future use. The hard rush doesn't work so well anymore because fast teching to carriers isn't viable, while mass LRF leaves you vulnerable when those carriers do come out.
<p
Flagships have a culture-stopping bonus the last time I checked. Maybe this was removed in a patch, I'm not sure. Anyway, it would be really good if each race had their own unique bonus to their flagship that effects friendly ships.
you should check if they are actually installed by going to C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire "XP user" if the map Sins of a Solar Empire exists and has numerous other files and maps in it you should use in sins_uninstall.exe located in that map to uninstall the game
I can't do this because the Stardock Games folder is empty, there is nothing in there, so I deleted it. My only hope is to g
Mine runs but it won't uninstall the Entrenchment beta. i get an XML (28,8) error and it uninstalls the main game instead!
Same thing happened to me.
reinstalling impulse might solve the problem yet another impulse difficulty i guess.....
Wrong. I have done this it has not helped at all.
No it isn't. The Ogrov is a TEC anti-structure cruiser. The Advent get the Solanus Adjudicator as their anti-structure cruiser, better known as the Starfish.
