You must only play SP. Sure, the AI let's you do it all the time. No so in MP.
Actually, I manage to set off Volatile Nanites every time ONLY because I'm very careful with the timing.
Vasari's isn't about pure weapons, but about their ability to manuever their forces and run away when a superior force shows up. One of their capitals (the egg) is even described to be a flying city, hardly a military ship
Every race has a civilian cap ship (Akkan, mother ship). Whats your point? Lore wise, the Vasari might be running away, but they have been rebuilding their empire in Trader Space. They are still slavers and still an oppresive empire, hence th
VERYBODY noticed that after 15 minutes of playing with a starbase around. It just warns you what will happen if you try to jump away. Your concern makes you sound like you never touched the Entrenchment, seriously.
Its sounds stupid though. Hey all ships have already lost 30% of their health. No they havn't. Its misleading. Warnings are pointless because everyone knows about it anyway. I have touched Entrenchment. I
of course use any profanity you want, personal attacks are ok but never criticiise Stardock. the frriend did not do these things but got banned any way.
Thats totally false. Anyway, I can't believe I actually went so far beneath my dignity to actually reply. [e digicons]:banhammer:[/e]
you can argue that this is fine from a balance perspective. you might be right about that, though that's a bit on the subjective side. other support oriented cap ships (Revelation, Rapture, Dunov) seem to be a bit better at shooting and have abilities with a bit more offensive punch. to me, just seems a little out of whack.
I agree. The low DPS of Vasari cap ships is not that bad, but it seems a little unfair.
The antourak has to have wet n
Actually I find bombers are the perfect counter for the orky. And yes I tried this against a human Vasari as Vasari. Are they more expensive than the anti-structures? Yes because they do more than attack structures therefore they cost more.
Yes, as myself and others have said, Vasari bombers should fill the anti-Orkulas role. Anyway, I've noticed a SB bug. When you send ships to an enemy planet with an enemy SB, it says o
I'm on the fence with Volatile Nanites. It is very hard to get a chain reaction started, though the damage can be devastating if you pull it off, which I also have rarely been able to do
Volatile Nanites should be used with Charged Missiles and/or Phase Missile Swarm. Makes chain reaction much easier. I manage to set it off every time I use it.
Subversion stacks, embargo no logner stacks.
But Subversion has a higher AM cost and is weaker.
I think the Vasari starbase looks fine... Except for that little empty space between the ball and the rest of it... It really needs some sort of particle effect or something..
I agree.
Oh, and what IS that ball on the bottom? What's it supposed to be? Is it the engines or something?
According to the concept art, it is a fusion engine/habititable zone (think colony pods). The only bad thing about the Orkulas is that you c
Assaulting Vasari as Vasari is simply harder, more difficult and more expensive than in any other matchup. And that is called imbalance.
I agree. By the way, your protective nanites idea was pretty good. Vasari need something that is counters all races SBs, but are not countered by Vasari SBs. Like a super-ranged better Vulkoras or upgradable bombers or something.
and...stop complaining. every race sucks at something. this just
i agree 100% with who ever says DPS of a cap is not important,
DPS is important for combat cap ships like the Kol etc. The maruader should get a boost to Subversion. This ability should HALT construction at the enemy planet for the duration at level 3. Currently, it isn't in the same league as Embargo.
I would like to see the ability to 'scuttle' or remove upgrades on a SB so that they can change duties. For instance, say you had a frontline SB that had a lot of weapons and armor, then the frontline moved so you would like more of an economy boost from the starbase. I would like to be able to remove upgrades and add new ones. (Incidentally I'd like to see this with caps as well; allow you to retrain an ability if you haven't used it yet or something. Sometimes I just click the WR
i find that the mines in this game lose purpose, since they are visible without scout. driving in to them means you are in hurry, retard, or got capital ships clearing the way.
Mines are still hard to avoid because ships turn in wide arcs. Mines are far from useless, just because you can see them does not make it any easier trying to get past them, unless there are big gaps in the minefield.
he main one would be to stick them in choke points so that if people try to run their fleet past your chokepoint, some ships might get seperated and stuck
My point was that, it would be much better to destroy the enemy ships rather then slow them down.
they only work if you also consider that Vasari mine layers are mobile and can accompany your fleet. the idea is to set traps with them.
Thats interesting. So does this mean t
I have never used these things, has anyone else? Why would you want to slow down the enemy fleet when you can just blow it up? So, does anyone think they are useful? If so, what is the bst way to use them? btw, this is probobly a dumb questio, but does anyone know what the Entrenchment logo is supposed to be?
So do I. I don't understand why anyone would complain about it.
Ok, I've been convinced that the Kortul and Vulkoras need no DPS boost. But, the Antorak is still seriously lacking in firepower. This ship needs a DPS boost because it has no abilities that deal damage
It still hits unlimited targets in a HUGE area. That's the main issue. The damage scales to insane levels. Missile barrage is highly comparable to last resort. The only difference is the Marza is a mobile unit, and doesn't kill itself using it. It can SORT of be countered, but you'd better be on your toes lest that one shot gets through and wipes you out!
Did you even read my suggestion? This change will mean that the Marza will not be able to kill fleets but
Ogrovs and Starfish have light armour and so are countered by fighters which is bad. They should have heavy or very heavy armour so that planet defenses hav a harder time destroying them.
the only explanation i can come up with is that Vasari weapons firing arcs tend to be alot bigger than most others races so a greater portion of that total DPS is applied at any given time

I think it might have to do with the phase missles
These explanations make some sense, but the Vasari Kortul, Antorak and Desolator still have less DPS then the Akkan! Wider firing arcs, phase missiles etc. are no excuses. The above Vasari
Missile Barrage has simply too much destructive potential, WAAAY more then any other cap ship ability in the game. I suggest that Missile Barrage should have a channeling time and duration a quarter of what they are now, but it should do half as much damage. The cooldown time should also be 25% shorter. This way, Missile Barrage will be harder to counter and more efficient, but less powerful. No-one responded the first time I posted this suggestion. Well, w
The thing I find most redicolous is that the pirates are suicidal in their attacks and fight to the last ship, yet the AI empires retreat all the time. How can Pirates who are just miserable criminals be braver fighters then the military forces of AI empires?! Not even mercanaries act like that.
whos to say the "threat" isent their own empire? suppose that they lost the big battle, but they damaged the threat so badly that the remnents of their empire managed to subdue it. I know if I won such a fight i would rip their jamming tech the first chance I get! even if you couldent, the Visari we know are decendents of one capitol ship and one colony's population that never even tryed to find out what happend. the Visari Empire could be chasing aft
