I use the alpha and it works like a charm :-) It has a few problems with some javascript stuff but aside from that it is fast, displays everything correctly and is pretty low on memory consumption.
That being said, I agree that GPG as a whole have exceedingly poor communications skills. Perhaps I am just spoiled by Stardock. Whenever one of their beta releases are delayed for whatever reason, one of the devs will post on the boards and let us know why, and when we can expect it to be ready. Note that the only info we have comes from an IRC chat session with Yarlen, who is a Stardock employee. GPG could learn a thing or two from Stardock regarding customer relations. If GPG is ign

ah Razgriz you aren't acting much more mature ;) On the topic of citadel upgrades, isn't it very obvious that everyone will pay with his own money for common upgrades? So player A decides to spend 2000 Money on Unit HP upgrade Level one. That means his teams minions (probably just portal spawns) will all be on that upgrade level. Now player B spends 3000 Money on Unit HP level 2 and so on... I am really amazed what complicated stuff you make up when i

yah tesb faster spawn rate might hurt yourself more than the enemy, but then it can also be used to overwhelm your enemy and win. Spending money on something which only gives you an advantage on certain situations is an interesting concept I think especially as you have also the option to upgrade the strength of your troops if you don't want to take that risk.

Mike Marr is Tyo (and sometimes "Mike") and he is 29 or so iirc. well tesb, if he speaks about 12 months of dlc and patches because of a deal with stardock it surely sounds like its free (but then we could be wrong, but if it isn't free it wouldn't be awesome and he used that word to describe it (or some similar word at least)

automated matchmaking together with a ranking list should pretty much solve it, people won't leave until the game is over if they lose points in doing so. Of course that only helps for ranked matches but even if you play casually ranked games aren't that bad because it matches you up with even opponents and you get to know other players their which you can make friends and play customs with them later on. (And I hope we get a surrender button, i

I wouldn't mind such features, but don't believe that they are as good as decisions made by a human mind. A rule like "retreat when health is down to 25%" might be good in many cases but sometimes you will want him to keep firing etc. Warcraft III has auto-casting for most of the spells of non-hero units but good players disable most of it in most situations because an AI is too dumb to know when it is good to use a spell and on which target. Automated AI features can be most ti

The Stars My Destination (also known as Tiger, Tiger) from Alfred Bester is among the best I ever read and its a rather short one so you should really read it :-) Stranger in a Strange Land and The Moon is a harsh Mistress from Robert A. Heinlein are also really good. Childhoods End is one of the best books from A
Go play Sins before you say that -- twitch reflexes are far from needed there.
I never played Sins but even for slow paced RTS you need some level of speed. It might be that 60 APM is sufficient to play it good (which I doubt) , but being faster is always better, in every RTS there is more to do than you can do and even if there was less to do than you can do the faster player would be still in advantage as he gets his stuff done faster and has more time to fully concen

its a realtime game and you can't eliminate physical speed and reflexes from it, no matter how hard you try, so no they are not imcompatible, phycical speed and reflexes are incompatible with turnbased games (those without a timelimit per round). And for most players its their slow mind which makes their APM so low, unless you get to a region of more than 250 APM everyone has the physical capabilities to do it. Its not like a 100m sprint where your lungs and muscles aren't good enoug

seriously lprometheus there is no reason to be so rude... Good RTS don't have counters like "unit a beats unit b" (for the same cost). Take a look on starcraft, Dragoons are weak vs zerglings and hydralisks but if you play mass goons in early game they suddenly become good vs them as their range advantage and the higher hp let you kill their army without losing firepower as quick as he does. Reavers kill hydralisks with 1 scarab but if they are caught from hydralisks in open field the

Isn't it more fault of GM that they let have UAW such a big and negative impact? I mean saying that its fault of a union or even unions in general is a bit of a weak argument if you look at Volkswagen, Mercedes, BMW or even Renault, Citroen and Peugeot. Most of their workers are in unions and there are even works councils. (speaking about "socialist" europe here where corporations also have to pay for pensions and health care and all that stuff and are incredibly high taxed) <

I've thought about it again, if you really want to make it skillful there shouldn't be 8 items which gives a buff versus a specific demigod but Items which gives a temporal buff vs exactly 1 of your enemies when some conditions are met. For Example the next guy who casts a spell on you becomes your "Archenemy" and everytime he casts a spell on you he gets 500 Damage. Then there could be an "Revenge" Item which lets you deal more damage vs the guy who last killed you after you bought tha
See, personally if a team is all playing as the same Demigod then I think it's a "good thing"(TM) if an item whacks them good. Demigod is, after all, a TEAM game and picking out Demigods that work well as part of a team should be part of the overall strategy. So for instance, if everyone is playing as the Vampire lord, I would make use of the Ring of the Crucifix which gives the player some passive bonus no matter what but also has

yah there seems to be a physical law that the bigger a community is the worse it gets (not single members of it but overall), guess big communities represent the whole society better than niché communities like the one of Supreme Commander.

The Geneva specifically addresses the first (and forbids it) and the latter is taken care of in that document as well (as in NO rights, other than any the host country deems to give them). I really would like to see what happens if the Queen decides to remove the sovereignty from the parliament :-) real sovereignty means factual power not being in possession of some theoretical power. "The fact that she happened to decide that her sovreignty is parliamentary" parliament gets elected by the people so they are the de-facto in possession of this sovereignty not the queen (she has one vote&nbsp

Leauki, how much power has the queen and how much power have the citizen via their representation by parliament? (I admit that this might be a bit of a pragmatic definition of sovereignty but a sovereign monarch is a absolut one, not one who is just monarch because of tradition) And I never said the citizen are "The Sovereign" just that they possess

154 Replies 278,177 Views

Leauki, Sovereignty is usually defined by having the legislative and executive power (or at least most of it) and while the queen has to sign laws she has no real legislative and executive power at all. The Sovereign in UK is all their citizen which are represented by their parliament. superamus = above anything/everyone Maybe anglo-saxon definitions are a bit different from what we consider sovere
