if I am not mistaken the ATI 2600 PRO is better than a Nvidia 7950GT right? I have a AMD X2 and a Nvidia 7950GT and it runs at about 40 fps with low to medium details so there must be something wrong with support for ATI cards currently (I am pretty sure of that because most or all who complained about such massive slowdown had ATI cards)

I got best performance with CamStudio (it's freeware) on my computer ;managed to record at about 15fps/second without ingame slowdowns in a good enough quality. haven't tried Xfire yet though.
