Sins was released and became successful to a degree I`m not sure anybody counted on. The developers then decide that they can improve the experience and offer us more. Thats a good thing. Splitting the expansions into 3 smaller parts is unusual, but not detractive. We *got* a complete game with Sins. What we`re looking forward to is an expansion on an effort that had an arguably restricted scope because of the original budget. This is not a screw-job by Ironclad... they honestly compl
Hmmm, so if the five generals on a team bring their full commands down a lane and then all the generals die, the minions will start to act like allied creeps? Saying early game each general has five creeps (minimum), and each unbuffed creep is as powerful as a minotaur: that's 25 extra minotaurs in one lane you now have to deal with before level 5..Coordinated kamikaze attacks ftw!
That would balance simply by virtue of their killability by Demig
Kyro: GPUs are not multicore, but rather just highly parallel, as graphics rendering consists of a huge number of small floating-point calculations which mostly don't depend on each others' outcomes (excepting stuff like anti-aliasing). Such parallelization doesn't really work for general-purpose processing where things are more linear and less predictable (this is also the reason why the Cell CPU is underwhelming in a lot of tasks).
I really cant get behind the 'builds spawn points' thing either, personally I think that could get unbalanced or misused somehow. Not EXACTLY sure how, but that's just how I feel.
I think as a special ability for a certain 'General-like' Demigod, placing a permanent or temporary gateway for additional Minions (unique or generic...) would be a very cool ability. Depending also upon the Demigod and balance, it would

Generally, if I buy a second-hand game I get my product support from Google`ing keywords associated with whatever issue I`m encountering. I provide my own product support in conjunction and generous coordination with those who came before me in the community, including good-minded developers/support people who sometimes complement those user efforts. Usually (95% of the time) I get hits on forum posts and threads by users themselves wherein an issue is discussed at fairly useful length and to
WIllythemailboy: In theory, I agree with the concept that companies need to be recompensated for services rendered apart from point of sales, but I don't think that used copies are necessarily exempt from that. A sale is a sale. Whether the primary user usses it for the remainder of his life or someone else does is immaterial - that particular instance of a sale requires support for the added value. [/qu

I see just a +2 in the thread, but when I click his karma link, I see two entries from Spartan, apparently one before and one after the one I gave. I wonder if this should get a mention in the Forum Issues area (I know they're short-handed on web dev now, but maybe just a record there could be helpful?).
IMO, the best way to validate the software is the simplest way - don't! The DRM cry babies will not have an issue to scream about, money will be saved on failed DRM initiatives and pirates, who already crack DRM programs anyway, will continue on their way. There will always be the scurge of software pirates but are losses caused by their actions any greater than the lost customer base, due to DRM software, and wasted DRM R&

Hmmm. After reading and re-reading the original posts both here and in the "Should Stardock provide..." thread, the question big developers seem to propose to you is thus: We see that Impulse works for you. We too would like to operate this way, without the emphasis on DRM. Can you please offer us a means to include DRM in a non-DRM Impulse platform? You want to provide options to other companies in regards to their property as represented & offered upon

More Unclean Beast Plague Thoughts The Plague ability could also be reigned in by the following, possibly in conjunction with previous suggestions: Introduce an immunity mechanic for Demigods (and only Demigods), such that a Demigod can only be infected by a single Unclean Beast`s Plague once in their lifetime, where "lifetime" equals their existence up to the next defeat. Would require tracking of specifi

Hmmm. Well, if censorship is not an issue in at least the Left4Dead packaging case, then why *is* the packaging different - to be precise, toned down? Manhunt by the way was a brilliant game that finally allowed you to hammer the living Hell out of some of the most reprehensible beings mankind has ever spawned, unlike the Grand Theft series wherein you generally play as one (! To my mind...). I know all of Europe is more liberal/sane with sex than the West. As for violence, I

I can`t help but think about the possibility that any large publisher who does not appreciate Stardock`s approach to IP, licensing, and DRM may try to sink hooks into you and corrupt you. Stardock is competition, both business-wise and philosophically. Every turn of success you have (essentially) without DRM disproves their position. Every sale you make validates your argument and invalidates their stance. I can`t help but conceive of a scenario in which the Big Boys® try

Try Amazon.ca or Amazon.com. I have found some rare/cheap titles myself recently, either for my own archives or for gifts. Despite some design decisions I disagreed with with that game, Shadow Magic is indeed a great product. Wish the developers would return to the genre and evolve the contest.

Rook Jiggering 1. Utilize the original Beta 1 version as the base template. 2. Make Archers in the The Rook`s shoulder immune to Stun. A Freeze ought to freeze them as well, but allowing them to continue firing from the hulk of their stunned host makes sense - The Rook has absorbed the impact... the villagers/townsfolk are protected. This adds a distinction to the Archer Tower upgrade, contrasted versus for example the competing
