All right-Frogboy himself, No. 1. That's one of the things I like about this contest. I don't use Vista, so I'm not sure what that means. Are you just short of icons, or what? Maybe somebody could help me out. I'd prefer an artistic triumph that was low on quantity over something that had quantity. I wasn't sure about the rules, so I went and looked: IconPackager Must be created for IconPackager 4 Submissions must be in .ip format Submissions mu

How about leaving them out of the contest but allowing them to be downloaded, perhaps in a category called "Rejected", or something like that. That way, we wouldn't have to depend on them being uploaded elsewhere, or have to search anywhere else. I'd hate to miss out on some good icons.

I think losing a whole point each for not supporting Vista folders and live folders may be a bit harsh. I might change my mind if I had Vista, but that's a 20% deduction that would negate great artwork and originality, and reward something less valuable. This has been a great contest; thank you very much for that.

I'm what's been called a harvester, which is what most of us are. I don't love skinning; I love skins and skinners. I'm also new to the concept of skinning; however, I turn on my wincustomize browse every night and see what's new. I have been through the entire WindowBlinds and IconPackager libraries and visited many sites. I'm not a casual user, I have downloaded several thousand skins, and on dialup at that. I'm saying all this to provide a background to my observations. &n

I'd agree about getting ObjectDesktop instead of WindowBlinds. You get IconPackager and DesktopX, two important programs for changing your Desktop. That's not nearly all, either. The ObjectDesktop CD is a joke, it's way out of date, so you'll end up downloading the whole thing anyway. If you're on dialup like me, it's a 24 hour job at least. The good news is that it's well worth it. It's a wonder what it allows you to do to your computer; there's an amazing number of good looking skins, and t

There is a private message system here, but I have no idea how it works. If you want to leave your e-mail address in public, I'll reply. Sysmetrix is a free program that does a lot of things beyond system measurements; you can add program shortcuts, media players, and so on. It's skinnable. Rainlendar is a calendar/note/event program, also skinnable. It has a free & paid version. Go to wincustomize.com, look on the right side, and you will see a categories list. Click on Sysmetrix, for

I'm still wondering if you have the demo versions. You can get at least some satisfaction while you're waiting. WindowBlinds, IconPackager and DesktopX are all available, and will totally change your desktop. Theme Manager allows you to build a package that includes all of the above, plus logons, bootskins, cursors, wallpaper, Sysmetrix, Rainlendar, and so on. It isn't necessary, but it makes it easy to change everything at once, and save your theme for later use. IconPackager is good

I'm using XP and WB 6.01.022 (Build 40 x86). I'm in the midst of installing ObjectDesktop on a new computer which hasn't been fully updated yet; I installed an IconPackager theme while downloading XP Updates in the background. IconPackager can reload the icons without any problem. I noticed that the theme wasn't in IconPackager after it happened the first time. It's now in there as I imported it using the program rather than dbl-clicking on the IP icon as I did the previous times. It affects Loc

Well, I sure can't help you. If you haven't already done it, get the demo versions. WindowBlinds, IconPackager, DesktopX and Theme Manager will take care of you for a month while you're sorting out your problem. You can also get Logon Studio (XP only), CursorFX (Beta) and ObjectDock for nothing. In this way you can go to wincustomize.com and other sites and start building and using your library of skins. Make sure you uninstall the WindowBlinds demo before you get the paid version. The others, I

Same here. I updated to the latest version of WindowBlinds, and applying a new skin strips the IconPackager icons from the right side of the menu. The folder icons and Set Program icon go to XP default, but Help and Support, Search, and Run show the same as in the screenshot. Internet Explorer and E-mail are not affected.

Four days and no WindowBlinds, staring at an ugly screen. Just to make sure, after you open Stardock Central, do you click on ObjectDesktop on the menu on the left? It sounds like you have, but if not, when you do so, it shows the list of purchased software, what's installed and what's available. Then you click on a component you want and an Install sign shows up; you click on that, and at the top, the download progress first shows something like "Validating product registration". I'd just like to add my three cheers for the Support team. I've had a few problems and questions, and they have always been polite and helpful. On one occasion they obviously went out of their way to talk to people outside their department, as my problem was about the ObjectDesktop CD and it's absence of up to date programs, and they talked to the people concerned, and let me know what they could. Thanks David and Travis.

There isn't much of anything on the ObjectDesktop CD except a bunch of out of date versions of only some of the programs you paid for. You end up downloading nearly everything anyway, one at a time, having to sit by the computer to provide confirmation and entering serial numbers from time to time. If you're on dialup, it's a 24 hour job if you get all the components. You have to get Stardock Central to get ObjectDesktop. It's a lousy way to get the programs on your computer, but it's handy f
