Quoting joasoze, reply 5 The bad thing here is that I see nothing in the game that stops infinite city spamming Well, for one, on a finite sized map, there is only so much space in which to build these cities. It also means, you have to put more into defending those cities, so that's more resources tied up. You also may spread yourself thin, which means those cities are more vulnerable to be
The slider for the advanced lighting does not work here. Changes nothing whatever I set it to, the level of softness is always the same. And yes I turned Stylized Lighting on.
YES same here, i made a topic (with comparison screens) but noone bothered to answer :( https://forums.elementalgame.com/393909
Oh, wait, Jesse just fixed some code and is now seeing a 10-20 fps boost...so apparently there WAS a silver bullet...and apparently he’s saving the details for his own change log [e digicons]:([/e] But good news, regardless! (jesse: so hovering over a city that used to give me 25fps now gives me 42-43) RELEASE IT!!!!! But the robedress file in the other thread still had the male dresses who glitched enabled, so i used the one from this :P
No, it would not e the same memory usage nor would you get the same performance. A water tile just needs to know a handful of things. That it's water (and thus nothing should be on it other than a boat) and where it is. Land has a lot more attribute to factor in and keep track of since it's playable space. As well, more space to utilize also means that memory dependent things like creeps, cities, and what have yo
Noone else? Really? Is there an official share-your-race thread hiding somewhere that i've missed? Surely someone else than just me are interested in seeing other peeps races and adding more variety to our own games, than just our own created factions? :P
ive had wierd things happen after a reload too, like techs dissapearing, units dissapearing, units in training queue to be done in 1-2 turns dissapearing etc. Not to mention 30+ goodie huts magically appearing around my cities on a reload, even when they werent there AFTER i saved the game before :P
I made some Draconian, Fay, Wraith (from stargate atlantis LOL) and other races a while ago, but i edited the .xml's to change the skincolor and such (hope they add that to the ingame creator, and un-bug the color picker there) http://www.filefront.com/17248495/Baleur-Races.rar/ http://www.filefront.com/17248529/Baleur-Units.rar/
I think one big help could have been, if monsters would not be able to enter your territory at all! Like in civ games.
YES YES YES [e digicons][/e] At least, having them NOT attack your caravans. The monsters should be there to make the lands "dangerous", but they shouldnt go and independently attack your caravans tbh. I mean, arent the caravans supposed to have escorts? I mean, behind the scenes. How do they protect themselves
Yeah it seems the artists got lazy and decided to make nothing else than ogres.. I really dont see any other explanation for it. Heck even an ogre with a lazy 5min reskin job could pass for a Yeti or something Kingdom-friendly, i wouldnt mind. There's so much we can mod in this game, but with the incredible lack of actual creature models, well, what can we do? Wait for good modelers to finish the content i suppose :( This also ties in with the fact that all races are just hu
Honestly the easiest way to make the maps bigger, while still keeping within the 32bit restrictions (for those nubs among us like myself), is to simply have..... *drumroll* LESS FRIGGIN USELESS WATER!!!!! [e digicons]XO[/e] I mean come on, in what way are the water tiles (often like 40-50% of the entire map!) useful? In NO way what so ever.. Okay so, they add landscape and variety, and a reason for making boats. But come on, why not have say 4 water tile
Defrag the other discs, play elemental on the one you dont defrag, then defrag the disc with elemental on it while you sleep :D
Improvements can be built on any square bordering an existing city square. This can work on both diagonals and horizontal pieces. As with cities, they can not be built within 5 tiles of a different city square. OOH!!! So thats why!!!! Why the FUCK isnt these things explained in the tooltips or Hiergawhaddayacallitgamon or anything ingame?? Basic core game RULES NEED TO BE EXPLAINED so you can play the game the way it was meant to!! (sorry ive
Quoting TLamming, reply 21 I think stardock is afraid to use things from MoM which is a shame. I wish they would take the good stuff from MoM. The stuff you listed above was great. Maybe because using too much from Master of Magic is illegal? Not that I don't think they could have taken more inspiration from the game, especially with regards to hero units, but there is a limit...<
I agree about the font, arial is so "im writing a thesis for my school" :P
Yes the one i have now is several years old however, back when i lurked the Galciv2 forums! :D I even tried resizing the avatar a few pixels down, and saved it again. The forum still wouldnt accept it, no .png's i upload is accepted >_ Edit: tried with google chrome, still didnt work. Tried renaming the file, didnt work. I could try saving it as a .jpg but then there'd be no transparency so no thanks =D
Why isnt this in the tech descriptions? >_ At least in a vague but still decipherable way like "...gives you confidence to enter harder dungeons". Tech description mod, anyone? :)
I still cant use ANY of these avatars, whenever i try uploading them and use them it just says "please choose another image"... >_
I dont understand how Stardock could release the game with those building errors (the war college info in the granary file??). I dont mean this in the "waaah u suck" way, i'm honestly simply curious as to how such a bunch of mistakes could be made?? I mean, look at it. Even a noob modder could instantly see that the building stuff was misplaced in the wrong file, but the question is WHY would it be in the first place? Who sat down and wrote in the war college stuff in the granary
Um so, your other thread.. Which files do i use? just this one or with the other ones? >_
Place any pngs in mods/theoriginalfolderstructure. Like mods/gfx/items
Looks insane XD But i only checked it in the map editor, almost no resources? Or do resources and other stuff spawn randomly automatically upon running a new game on any map? If so, cool :P
Bump ;/
Saplings, in other words (just remembered what they are called, LOL)
