I jsut noticed that two, I wish they had more races as well, 10 sets off humans is not that diverse. atleast with civilization asians, europenas and mesoamercians atleast had different looking cities.
Exactly, when real life has more diversity than a fantasy game set in a world of magic and monsters, something is wrong.

The Guild 2 Renaissance (even more buggy than Elemental, but then it appears all JoWood games are). 5. Dragon Age Interesting....where's number 2. What exactly is between your girlfriend and yourself? [/
I like it :D Finally i can use head protection lol XD
Bump, still in 1.07
Dayuumn! *grabs popcorn*
Open Beta for Final Fantasy 14 starts tonight, i am debating joining in. Swore I was done with MMO's till at least star wars launches but this thing looks kinda promising after running the benchmark tool for it.
WHAT? :O *googles* edit: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!
I really have no care for FPS in a TBS game. I mean it's more comfortable to move the camera around. But It's nothing I can't deal with.
I'd like to see you say that when you get 5fps, like i do when viewing a city. Its more than uncomfortable, its unplayable. Every mouse-click has to be choreographed in advance to avoid the game going nuts and placing 3 duplicate buildings all over the screen
I haven't bought the game yet, launch reviews were not too kind. I don't like the idea of the game I buy being outdated and in dire need of multiple patches on day 1....
The same reviewers also gave Spore a near perfect score. (no i wont let it go! [e digicons]>_>[/e] ) Bribed = high score, not bribed = low score
Why would it be accidental? :P If you're saying that they released the game in a buggy state to prevent piracy, nah. They've already gotten far more backlash from that which impacts sales than a few torrents could.
Replacements was a poor choice of words. I was looking at the list of folders that are scanned and was thinking that if it's not one of those "types" (represented by the folder name) then it would go in the \mods folder. However I was reading another thread that pretty much implies it's irrelevant which of those folders it's located in and/or the filename. It's all about the root element used for that file. Sor
I play everything BUT Elemental, while it gets patched to a playable and or balanced state. (either is good enough) Distant Worlds, Lego Batman (free bundle copy, might as well, right?), Tales of Vesperia, Victoria 2. Also been faffin around in Soul Calibur IV that i found collecting dust in my shelf, forgot i had it lol. Its awesomely deep once you give it a try. I remember when i first bought it, i sucked and ragequit. Now, yesterday when playing it the first time since

If you think thats bad try that oold nintendo game (cant remember which one) that gave you a black screen with the text; "Congradulation!!!! You have finish a great game." [e digicons]:S[/e]
lol look, it worked :) alborelli lol, yeah but the reason most of us dont use forum searches are because 95% of the time they return absolute gibberish results that have nothing to do with what you wanted to find XD
I just want that elusive "oh wait, jesse just found something, he says he gets 10-20 more fps now when looking at a city" fix released NOW as a hotfix or mini-patch. Then i dont mind if it takes another week before we see another patch, i just want that preformance fix.
Yep, i cant upload either (for 3 weeks now)... Same exact problem :(
I would also pay for a MOM remake, but I doubt most of us here on the Elemental forums want Elemental to BE that game. No, we want something BETTER. Why CAN'T Elemental be better than MOM in terms of features and polish?? It should have come out of the gates besting a game 16 years old. Period.
Very true.. We must realize, we live in 2010..... Think of the advancement OTHER genres have made. FPS ga
Frogboy, in almost every single thread you start with alot of images, after a few weeks the images wont show up anymore. Stop deleting them from your server! :P (same thing with the Sins of a Solar Empire: Diplomacy "whats new" thread, and MANY others across Stardock)
I am not talking about bugfixes. I am talking about new content. I am not saying you have to pay more. Just pay the same, but in a different way. As I said, which is the normal support time for a game? One year? Two at most? After that time there are no updates at all. No new content. Well, imagine that paying the $50 the retail game costs you get a one year subscription. This means, you can download anytime the game and all t
Two patches? Try straight after release. If you've been following STO, it feels like they reduced their crew by about 95% straight after release. Never getting a cryptic game again. /endrage
So true.. Heck Elemental was in a worse state at release than STO, yet it got patched up to 1.06 (which frankly, is playable and enjoyable at least), while STO barely even got improved a tiny bit after an entire month, and thats an MMO t
I was super hyped for Civ5, but i must say, after elemental's city build mechanic, i know i'll just wish Civ5 had the same "place your buildings freely" mechanic when i play it.
Edited in cpu speed, and sound card. Which makes me wonder now that I think about it, perhaps the people with slow games are running integrated audio? I know its supposed to be better then it used to be, but perhaps this is a bottleneck of sorts?
Nay, i've got an Asus Xonar D2 and still run slow. And the audio is still buggy sometimes.
Guys....read the dev post. The problem is RIGHT there in plain English. Late game, at specific LODs, the game should be phasing out a lot of stuff to improve frame rates. It's not. It's displaying everything you would see at the most zoomed in level, when you're zoomed out. That's no doubt killing performance. It's a simple optimization pass to make sure the LOD tech is hiding the correct amount of stuff at zoom detail.
