Which one? Subspace?
Yep, sorry forgot each color had a different name.
Astyanax
What caused you to dual boot?
Darkmatter :P - Ended up not dual booting, putting the theme on the laptop instead.
Right we're in just for the money, that's why we spend 8 weeks making these things.
You've caused me to dual boot Vista/XP, ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?!
Wrong. The two are very different. Hyperdesk is about buying themes from the Skins Factory. Object Desktop is about enabling users to apply stuff made by anyone.
How is that wrong? You are comparing one program thats been around for YEARS to another program thats been around for what... a week? Even if you where to compare the two, how much longer has MyColors been around?
Then stop coming back
Sometimes it's a good idea to take the advice you give... like now for instance! :D
People are free here to voice their opinions and complaints about Stardock products.
I dont hear any complaining about Stardock products, All I "hear" (or read for that matter) is the same thing posted by the same people 30 times in the exact same manor, voicing your opinion is one thing but when you post the exact same thing 10 times it gets repetitive fast. No good comes from these arguments, its happened with VS vs. WB (And Hyperdesk visual styles are more or
can buy Object Desktop for $50 and get thousands of skins and themes, gadgets, widgets, more for free.
It's also been around A LOT longer, if HyperDesk was around for the amount of time lets say ThemeManager was then they'd have thousands to choose from as well.
Flat, unskinned system buttons? I'd expect more from a pay theme.
Just the Sony theme, the payware ones aren't flat and unskinned.
That above WHAT!? was totally sarcastic but only about 2 people might acually have gotten it...
ohnos sarcasm on the internets :SURPRISED:
WHAT!?
To each his own? :)
Layers look like they can bring a lot of potential to future themes. Those effects have always been a pain to get correct with margins, some even impossible in the past. :o
I played GC Twilight and saw some graphic corruptiom especially when creating a custom race. There were, for lack of a better description, spikey things coming off of some of the ships when selecting the ship style. I'll work on a screenshot of that tomorrow and post that too if I can get something worthwhile.
That sounds like artifacts, which are usually caused by two things: Driver Problems OR Overheating, my guess is overheating.
This is a Hyperdesk thread eh?
Judging by the name of the thread this had lead me to believe it actually is a Hyperdesk thread, interesting. :SURPRISED:
Folks should know before they buy what their..not.. getting..TSF certainly isn't telling them.
I think it's been said too many times about what exactly the limitations are when compared with WB, it could even be said that its far passed the point of beating that dead horse and has moved on to
They don't have perpixel shutdown screens. Just bitmapped rectangles... no transparency, no shaping....same for please wait.
To me those things really aren't necessities, to each his own I guess.
Anyway...also no toolbar icons either or file animations, transparency, perpixel frames \ shutdown screens.. etc...
Actually looking at the screenshots they do have shutdown dialogs.
Asty.. the Disney one has a whole 26 if thats any indication
Sigh, I really hope this isn't going to be a normal thing. The icons they produce have always been amazing but little in numbers. (:(
I paid for one of the Dark Matter themes and it's really quite good! The window style is nice, with several variations for the theme that I purchased. The icons are beautiful, as is the widget that controls WMP (or itunes if you prefer). The site is set up nicely, really quite nice. The support forums are also set up nicely. No complaints from this consumer.
How many icons does it include? Please tell me its more than the bare minimum as a lot of tsf sets only have a limi
I used Trillian for a long time but eventually lost my love for it for not having skinning on the fly. If Astra suppports this, then it would perk my intrest back to using it.
It does, you don't have to restart anymore for skins to change. Also the skin files in 3.0 did use PNG but for some reason it required the pink magic trick.... no longer needed with Astra, they finally added the ability to use proper transparency with PNG formats.
I have no idea what their pay skins look like but if they are anything along the quality lines of the Sony theme I would feel ripped off. Massive lack of effort and originality in almost every area.
Try checking the site? ;)
Sure the 450w PSU is cutting it close, but it would not cause the kind of problems he is having. :NOTSURE:
The icons..... *drools*
You bet....I'm amazed your system is running at all.....
Uhm, not so much. If the power supply was the route of this problem his pc would frequently lock up and would be constantly rebooting on even the simplest of tasks. This to me looks more like an overheating issue, and the 4850's are well known for this issue if the fan speeds are not adjusted manually.
Nah the PSU wouldn't cause problems like that, this looks more like an overheating issue. You should try to change the fan speeds and see if it still persists.
Hey its only been in the "Alpha" stage for over a year now, who knows maybe in a year we might see a beta, or maybe an RC in two years!! :D
Hello, Having the same problem here. Downloading thru SDC and the download is looping and won't complete.
Try Impulse, it worked for me.
