Because the windows icons are 256x256 not 8x8, 8x8 is even smaller than the system tray icons.

Theres a new beta released today, version 6.19[rc].150 - doesn't list what the update contains, anyone care to shed some light on this?
Actually based on my experience between the 2 OS (XP and Vista), Vista run slower, about 30 percent slower on the same machine. Having said that, I still prefer Vista a little bit albeit it takes more time to boot my PC and more time also for applications to load.
You do know the real difference in games and such is 1-2%, and when your getting lets say an average of 120FPS+ in Day of Defeat Source (like me... :D) it really doesn't make ANY difference at all.
I've never heard of such a thing, I have a few friends that upgraded their Dell PC's with new videocards and they have zero problems... :NOTSURE:
They really cocked that one up. I read the 8.7's will be released this month, can't come soon enough.
ATi releases drivers every month, for example take the 8.7 drivers: The 8 stands for the year (2008) and the 7 stands for the month (July). ;)
It says the full object desktop is required. Is this in addition to purchasing MyColors? I've extracted the files without either installed and haven't found any "invader.mycolors" but perhaps this is because I am missing the programs?
You can use that method to get the .Mycolors theme, once you get it place the .MyColors theme in the C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\ThemeManager folder.
Well right now DX10 Titles that are released/to be released can be found here: [link="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_with_DirectX_10_support"]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_with_DirectX_10_support[/link] If you are into quite a few of those games then I'd say go for it. :D
No it runs DX9 perfectly fine, DX10 is slowly catching on as usual with a major DX release. There is a fairly decent list of new games coming out with DX10 goodies already, im sure the list will just get larger. ;)
Extra VGA ram usually means games at a higher resolution will run smoother, it also helps out with higher resolution textures that games may use. Since there is a lot more memory available the game can load more things into VGA memory rather than system memory to speed things up.
definitely get the hotfix for 4850's on the amd/ati site.
The 8.7's should be out any day now as well. :D
Hey Neil; what is the latest version; I have 6.11 build 58 x86, 6.10a[b].144 in Impulse, dated 7/10/2008. Thing is the only update I had done was to MyColors 2.5, there was not and I have not seen a WB update.
Uncheck Show Pre-Release Versions im guessing.. should be 6.10.084 - Think Green is now working with that version for me.
I agree, the Rockstar icons for instance are awesome but theres only 52 of them in the IP. I was hoping for a set with as many as Pirate, Cosmos..etc There are many filetype icons that aren't skinned and it really does bug me.
Speaking from a non skinners viewpoint, if we get into saying that there has to be a certain number of icons or it just doesn't meet the "standard" we just may be doing more harm then good.
For a payware sets though? I would hope they'd include
Found a problem in x64 with the Save As dialog window, the icons seem to remain default Aero for the most part: Using the latest build in Impulse. The Favorites Pane mostly, when browsing to other locations the icons can also appear as the default Vista set. Also, the favorites window in the 32bit browser of IE7 has a problem with icons not changing as well (they do change in the 64bit browser though) [im
I just did this on 64bit and it works to an extent. Mycolors themes dont seem to work right still, classic style with no borders on what seems to be anything running in 32bit mode. Even the wbconfig has no borders, but things like the Computer Properties do.
My WB activation has reached its limit! :( (I just went back to x86 and got hit with it).. I followed your instructions so hopefully once I get the activation issue sorted mycolors and wb will play nicely...
Nice looking skin, now I just need to hear back from support on whether my problem was fixed by the developers in WB or soon to be fixed.. :(
A few points, Xbox 360, PS3.. games that can not normally be pirated are too expensive by a long way, probably twice as expensive as they should be
They do get pirated, custom firmware anyone? And the reason they are expensive is probably because of the disc the media is on.
It occurs to me that the people who write ObjectDock have missed the fact that a good chunk of the PC-using world has rejected Vista.
Well outside that rock you happen to be under plenty of people are getting it, its far from a rejection.
can't see what Vista, as opposed to XP has to do with Stardock products... for the most part they work equally well on both OSes and do NOT drain/hog resources in either.
I agree, I honestly don't understand what this
It has to be a clean installation, unless you are upgrading from a 64 bit OS it wont work.
....won't help with that. Fix the memory "problem", then install the 64 bit.
Unless his memory problems are 32 bit doesn't see all of his system memory, then it WILL solve his problem going to 64 bit. But if it's XP your talking about I wouldn't bother.
I find that uninstalling IP through Impulse causes this problem, try reinstalling it then uninstalling IP through Stardock Central. That seems to work for me.
Having this issue is 32bit as well.
Check out this thread WWW LinkI don't know about 64 bit,or if it's what you need, but it's worth looking at.
Not gonna work, the WB for it is encrypted.
as the 9800GTX is a pretty shitty launch all around.
Not true, check out the benchmarks on the XFX Black Edition, it's a pretty nice card.
For $200, it's a little less great, but it's still a better buy for higher-resolution setups.
Good enough to make nVidia practically drop the price on the 9800GTX $100 USD.
Yeah, but those "new features" are largely insignificant
GDDR5 isnt largely insignificant, higher clock speeds while requiring less power is generally something thats fairly significant don't you think?
but I wish they would focus on the thing that matters: price/performance.
Have you seen the price of the HD 4850? It's $200 at Best Buy with a $50 dollar rebate. How is that not a good deal considering it's on par with a 9800GTX and the drivers at th
