As an update to this there should be WB 6.3 and SKS 6.3 betas going up later today. There are improvements to the tree view but the layers tab is also worth checking out.
Anything on a 64bit bug that was reproduced and forwarded to the developers? I haven't heard anything on it for about a month+ now. It had to do the address bar becoming largely over-sized with certain skins.

You need a server class motherboard. Tad more expensive than your average desktop motherboard.
For anyone having trouble with the widgets, try http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/install_weather.bat (running as admin if in Vista) and report back.
They only seem to work now when everything is on my desktop, if I put them on an alternate drive and run them, or in a different directory they dont work. EDIT: Strange, if i launch the Weather gadget for the Harley-Davidson theme the others start to work.
None of the weather gadgets work for me, I have UAC disabled and I've tried to run the EXE with admin privileges with no success. The EXE shows up in task manager but its not doing anything at all. (Vista 32b SP1)
Looks like all my suites are sorted, was able to download them all and they are not encrypted! :)
At this time only the subscriber theme "Gloss Burgundy" is being released unencrypted to members only. No other My Colors themes are planned to be released as unencrypted softwares.
You sure? I've got a un-encrypted copy of Pirate here, which is the only other theme I was able to download via ZIP.
I just checked and so far the MyColors themes are still not available in ZIP format, still wants to me download MyColors.
All links being sent are still the same for the encrypted files.
Frogboy said tomorrow, im guessing that means in -5 GMT. Also they probably wont be .MyColors but actual ZIP formats (as he stated they'd be in a zip file). EDIT: Only 2 of mine are updated, the rest are still MyColors.
We are working on this issue with Microsoft. It appears that there may be a shell issue that we are trying to get them to address.
Well that would explain the issue then... :p - Hope MS is ....helpful? :o
I am not ready to downgrade to Vista so just a WB 6 update would be nice.
Well if you are "downgrading" to a far superior OS then I can only imagine what you'd be calling a downgrade to XP.... fecal-downgrade?
The 8600 was one of their worse cards - it had the same amount of memory as my 6800 (256 MB), which I thought was pretty pathetic for a card two generations newer.
Depends on your resolution, if you use something like 1280x1024 a 256mb card is more than enough.
GeForce 9600 GT. Yes, it is stable.
I've got a friend with an 8600GT and his framerate is lowered by nearly 100fps in Source games when using Vista. :NOTSURE:
Driver quality is the same right now. Both manufacturers have very stable drivers. I have zero troubles with games with my nVidia video card with current drivers.
I beg to differ. In Vista nVidia still has quite a few problems that ATi doesn't. I'm not saying ATi's drivers are perfect but they sure are developed far better than nVidia's are under VISTA.
I think nVidia is trying to push their GeForce GTX 280s as the latest video card. By the way, Newegg i
If you're a hardcore gamer and loaded, get a SLI card 100% either 8xxx or 9xxx By the way what kind of port does the motherboard support, might be a good idea to investigate that.
Why bother with nVidia? ATi not only has the advantage at the moment but you also get better picture quality and far better driver development. At the moment the only people buying nVidia cards are the people looking for THE top card, so far thats the 9800 GX2 which costs roughly $500 USD. B
And whar OS are you going to run, if vista get the max 4Gigs you will need. you can get more but then you have to do specail things to ur comp.
Actually 32 bit will only see 3.5gb max (thats with a 512mb videocard, as the memory for the videocard increases, the amount of system memory seen will decrease).
The 4850/4870 seems to be the sweet spot at the moment, the 4870 is somewhere around $280 and outperforms everything except a GTX 280 and a 9800 GX2 from nVidia, both of which are far more expensive. I'd go with the 4850 in your case, you can find them for somewhere around $170 and the card will still outperform an 8800GT, even all the way up to a 9800GTX, unless your budget doesn't allow for it that is.
Anyone have any ideas? Im on x64 and dont have mycolors on this partition, curious if the issue was resolved? EDIT: Some of them still are not validating... actually many of them are not being validated. There seems to be an activate txt in the MyColors directory showing this over and over: Application start: 2008-8-12 3.26.11 Silent mode Mode 1, short info Submitting activation request... Download: success Activation result: 6<b
I tried over the weekend with a fresh copy of 2142 and WindowBlinds installed and I could not get the error to occur. We will have to help you through the support channels from here. I think it could have something to do with multiple installs of PunkBuster. I have had many troubles with PunkBuster in the past with all sorts of software. It still bears looking into so I am looking forward to digging deeper on this.
Yes, 2142 was the only game to NOT have a problem. It was
I just formatted and I seem to be having an issue activating some MyColors themes. It seems that some activate fine while others are not, and no error message is given when I try to activate through Impulse, but through MyColors I get "There was an error validating your registration information, please try again.", no matter how many times I try it some themes fail to activate. Im wondering if you guys are having any kind of server issues at the moment?
So tired of these "Vista Sux" threads/comments ect... get a decent computer that can actually run the thing and drink a big glass of shut the f.... oh forget it, some people aren't worth it
No kidding... Also for you Vista haters this should be an interesting read: [link="http://news.cnet.com/8301-13860_3-9998336-56.html"]OH LOOK, MS TRICKED YOU! What version of Vista do you use? Also, do you have any codec packs installed?
But that wouldn't explain why 2142 works flawlessly even without setting it to the excluded list. Not even BF2 lets me play if its excluded. They update their software regularly, since this has been an issue for a long time I highly doubt a recent or most recent update did this.
I have it for multiple games, but each time an installer asked me to install Punkbuster I have. I also update Punkbuster on each game that gives me this problem. So far 2142 has been the only game not to, which I find strange. EDIT: Support ticket has been filed, Ticket ID OTS-725534 - For some reason its listed under Support - Activation, I knew I should have logged in rather than sending an email in. :NOTSURE:
Sure thing, I'll send one over asap! :)
Normally to avoid the issue I've set the particular games executable to the excluded list for Windowblinds, but no! Battlefield 2 refuses to let me play a game in peace when I have a wb skin applied (Vista 32bit). I can play for maybe a minute or two and then I am booted off a server for "Unknown Windows API Function [131152]". I did some searching and it appears that I am not the only one getting this problem. It seems very strange that it only happens with bf2 regardless of it bein
