Have you used ubuntu, or even better, kubuntu recently? It has better functionality than Vista in some ways. I'm sure it does, but can you run any application that runs on Windows? Until something like that happens the end users will have no idea what to do when messing around with Linux. Everything is far too complicated for the standard user who likes to browse the internet & game...etc Linux has come a long way, but it still needs alot of work before
Astyanax
I have a simple solution. Use XP or Linux. Either are better than Vista - especially Linux. Linux is far from mainstream use. It still has alot of work to be done before the average user can switch over to it.
Molten doesn't seem to skin the Problem Reports and Solution window on Vista properly. Its transparent on the title and the 'Back' button is missing. Thats WB not the skin itself. Every skin has that issue. My guess is it was overlooked?
Haha , good news!
I'm wondering if Stardock is planning to update suites like Pirate that have WB5 support with the new features that WB6 has? I think it would be cool to have fully skinned address bars, logoff buttons, navagation buttons and tabs in Vista with the Pirate theme!
Yeah but that doesn't work for UIS1 skins like Camaro because it physically lowers the top frame size
Pretty cool (might I add). Didn't even know about that.
If the bitmap titlebar height is anything higher than "23" on a skin it will cause the icons to become larger.
Hey guys when r u going to release this skin(turbo)?
Yeah - taunting us with that nice skin! Looks cool in grey
Yeah this is a normal problem as Neil said. Easiest way to fix it is to load up a skin in SKS and set the Bitmap top frame height to 23 and reapply the skin.
The big deal is that some skinners might want that badge. Knowing how to design a skin to get it is critical. Well its pretty clear what the badge means, take full advantage of WB6
It's just a badge, whats the big deal? O.o Clearly Stardock is just trying to promote the use of WB6 features and Vista support. I don't see how thats so hard to figure out, lol?
Oh wow, I hadn't even noticed that. I've got the same issue as well. Incase its needed: Your computer has a Windows Experience Index base score of 5.4 Your Windows Graphics Experience score is 5.9 WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.0 (build 49 x86 - Vista Edition) - 64 bit OS WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC (Dell E207WFP) 1 is attached to Radeon X1950 Series Wblind.dll 200
3D apps run great with Vista with the latest Nvidia drivers. I've actually been hearing a bit that makes me think Nvidia's are getting to be better than ATis on Vista. I beg to differ. Unless the card is an 8 series the drivers are still trash. I talked with a friend who had a 7800 last week and he described problems I had 6 months ago on my 7900 card. I don't see them getting better anytime soon to be honest, they just arent showing an sign of life in
You mean GAMES right? So you're just a game playing teen vs. a professional, right? Nuff said. I do believe I listed 3DSMAX, but I appreciate you reading my entire post. [/sarcasm]
I wonder if that's Jobsy's biggest fear, that his OS isn't as secure as he'd like, even moreso on non-propriety hardware. Sounds like something MS has with Windows OSes, a vulnerable system because there'll always be somebody somewhere who'll try to hack it, simply because they can. Oh im sure its a very large factor in why he wouldn't go open source. It's been proven that the security compared to Vista is horribly bad. OS X is riddled with flaws, but at the
Oh wow O.o lol Glad to hear it, I had figured that was the case for its delay... (no, not refering to the tits folks )
Kind of wondering about IP too, frogboy said over a month ago that they'd be releasing a beta in 1-2 weeks, that would be the 2nd week of last month..... IP for x86 has been out for about 6 months now? What gives
Just p1ssed off - all you 'Vista 64 is better' don't know JACK! Try running any high end 3D app and you'll learn FAST. How about Crysis? No? How about 3DSMAX? No? How about DOD:S, CS:S, HL2, TF2, Farcry, Stranglehold, BF2, BF2142, WoW, GuildWars... and so on? They all play fine, that is with ATi of course. I tried XP X64 briefly. Overall I agree with the many reviews in the fact that its buggy & seems to be awefully rushed in its release. Vi
Agreed, I bought Ultimate early in it's release (Mid Febuary). It was expensive, but I feel it was worth it as I really love the OS. With that being said I really think MS should cut the prices in half. They would probably make up the amount lost and then some in overall sales as im sure more people would migrate to Vista. Speaking of Apple and its choice to keep their customers locked into THEIR hardware.. if they made it open source to compete with MS I really thing the OS as a wh
So.. now that WB6 with 32/64 bit support is out are there any plans for an Iconpackager update to comply with x64? I had read a post by Frogboy saying their would be a beta in 1/2 weeks but that was about 5 weeks ago....
Any news on those skins? More WB6 Vista ready skins=amazing....
He's done it atleast two times from what he told me on MSN D:
Sidebar skinning should work fine, but please ensure you are not using sidebar styler as it will block WB changing the sidebar. Indeed, I actually had to uninstall Sidebar Styler for it to work.
Nevermind. A Full uninstall then reinstall did the trick.
