So I updated to the release today, hadn't had anything applied so it was a basic Aero skin. When I went to apply a skin shortly after rebooting all it does is apply the classic theme. This happens on every theme I have installed.... Your computer has a Windows Experience Index base score of 5.4 Your Windows Graphics Experience score is 5.9 WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.0 (build 49 x86 - Vista Edition) - 64 bit OS WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this

So I applied the updated but no skins shown above are included? :O
Not really that costly to get a videocard that supports Aero. Under 100$ will get you that kind of card and to be honest something like that should be expected if you have a Vista PC as the hardware required has been around for awhile (videocard wise). You can't force the effects. Thru the beta you could, but the hack that worked was disabled in the RC builds.
It happens with every theme, it has something to do with WB. Can't say I've had the problem in 32 bit.... I've tried many themes on x86/x64 and never had the issue on x86, always on x64 though.
@Duff: If the titlebar height is any higher than 23 on a theme in x64 it will distort tray icons. Only way to change it is to load up SKS and change the titlebar height for the BMP top frame to 23.
Can't you uninstall Windowblinds from Add or Remove Programs?
If you buy the new iPod you will be forced to use iTunes with it. You won't be able to use other things like Winamp...etc. This is something they are going to be inforcing on the new iPods. Wait till December and check out the new Zunes, if they arent good then i'd get a Creative.
No I don't think I said that. You should re-read my post. I don't think you read it properly. At any rate, I've noticed topics like these go no where. People have made up their mind and they're going to stick with it, even till death. So.. enjoy your soon-to-be outdated OS.
I'm sure you didn't mean Billions, WWW Link 6 Billion to be exact, which was a quote from Bill Gates. Couldn't find any news acticles on it, every site I went to check had dead links.
So Astyanax0, why do you feel it's not a fair comparison? Windows ME was released simply for people to have something while Windows 2000 was under development. It was nothing more than a piece of junk place holder, riddled with serious problems and poorly done. Windows Vista is the exact opposite; It's not meant as a bookmark for Vienna/Seven (Yes i know MS claims they will have it out in less than 2 1/2 years, but lets be real here, its going to be
Astyanax0, Gideon has somewhat of a good background in the IT world, you may also have the same. Not speaking for Gideon but I think he was comparing the fact they were/are OS's developed by Microsoft that had/have questionable qualities. I wasn't directing that right at him, it was more of a general statement. I just know sooner or later someone will say it. You forgot ..In your opinion. I hate it when people compare
I hate when people compared Vista to ME. It clearly shows they know nothing about either of the two operating systems.
Astyanax0: I have just tried the 32 bit CCC with WB 6 and it works just fine which is expected given that CCC is skinned using Stardock DirectSkin. Yeah I figured that was the case, which made the bug seem very strage.
The issue with the top picture has been resolved for the next build. Anything on my issue with the Catalyst Control Center and using custom skins? Where you guys able to reproduce it? It's not really that big of a deal, just have to make sure you arent using the custom skins that come with it or else it wont load.
Glad to see a x64 beta released. Everything works great except I still have a problem where my system tray icons jump up to a huge size if the top image height for BMP is set to anything higher than "23". I'm wondering if thats fixable? I'm guessing it can be...... Also when opening the Catalyst Control Center (ONLY WHEN USING A CUSTOM SKIN - Ati Crimson and so on) It seems to not open correctly. Just hangs with "Not Responding" in the window titlebar. This happened to me in 32 bit as
Another week... still no beta as said above. I understand it *may* take some time to do but its been over 5 months since the Vista x86 version was released.
Kilo, you mean the Show with guns and VIOLENCE? OH MAI!
I read for some people it didn't work well... and that issue was resolved....
Looks to me like they just wanted to say that they have finished it because of articles like this one
People actually bought Ultimate because of Dreamscene and dumb little games? Who cares about those things, they are just nice perks for me. I got it because I wanted Media Center & the features Business has that Home Premium doesn't. By the way, one of the main new things is Dual Moniter support.
Vista x86 has had iconpackager for 5 months now, is it really that seriously unstable?
And that's nearly another week down.... how many more to go?
and stability, way better than XP on my machine. i can't recall a crash that has ever required a restart, just games to desktop and things like that... stuff that can easily be blamed on 3rd parties. Not to mention when my Display Drivers failed (only once, ...was a fluke) it didn't Blue Screen my system. Just gave me an system tray balloon and kicked the display drivers back up. Gotta love how they don't touch the kernal now. Stability is 100% better f
I disagree with the last 3, for me they are improved.
I got told by Frogboy in that article a few weeks ago about the lack of Vista Ready Iconpackages that their would be a beta in 1 or 2 weeks. Kinda wondering whats up seeing how it's going on the third week. I really wish 32 bit saw my full 4GB of ram rather than putting a full Gig into other stuff that I don't want it being used on..... *sigh*
