Curious, If you can make a transparent start menu, then why hasn't anyone made an Areostyle one? Is it because it's tranparent around the edge and solid in the middle?

somebody has done one.

do a search for myLonghorn

Thanks Meowy, but I was talking about the AreoStyle that you see in DX widgets. Clear around the edge and grey in the middle. Actually I think the Longhorn skin is kind of plain. It dosen't have any style to it. But with transparent title bars I will like it.

The MyLonghorn skin is exactly as you describe.  WndowBlinds can do Aero-style Start menus already.

I wonder if TheSphynx is going to create transparent titlebars for his skin.

I wouldnt be suprised if Mike's already working on one.

Don't personally care about the aero look, but finally.... no more jaggy corners! I've been wanting this for what seems like ages. How soon can we expect to see this? Is there a performance hit?

This opens up a Whole new window!

does this technique for adding transparency introduce any flicker effects when moved around? Or transitioned between? Also, will the windows still behave nicely with other 3rd party apps like TopDesk? or Entbloess?

Cheers for your accomplishments Frogboy and Crew... I look forward to seeing what windowblinds can do.
