It's no Windowblind. It's a screenshot of Microsofts new OS, codenamed Longhorn. Currently in beta.

Can't believe how impatient people can be! I'm excited as the next person about the this new development. I think as someone else mentioned, Frogboy was so excited they got it working, he wanted to let us know. Its not vaporware or tell and don't show. It obviously needs some work still. It is unusual I agree for Frogboy not to include a screenshot.
Anyway I look forward to more info about this soon.

I'd have to agree with Boss on some level....the title of the post got me in here lookin for screenshots, i know that it is going to be in a future release, but a screen of what they've done so far woulda been nice.

The picture is from the AeroXperience forums. Here's the site to where they posted images: http://www.aeroxp.net/board//index.php?showtopic=773

That picture was from Longhorn build 5203.

Just so everyone knows what the basic look is like:

Why all the fuss about the lack of a screenshot from Brad? We all know what an aero titlebar looks like don't we?
Thanks for the answer. Thought that might be it, but was not sure. Hope WB gets it in a version soon. Think it will be cool to be able to make blinds like that.

Why all the fuss about Title bar transparency/translucency in the first place?
See-through Start menus and Title bars make text harder to read, and colors are
washed out. A lot of hype and anxiety going on in this thread over a new
feature that doesn't enhance use ability of skins .... but that's just me.

Its not just the transparency, it now means you add shadows to windowframes (else you have to use WindowsFX) and eliminate those pesky jagedy edges and replace them with smooth alpha blended corners.

Woodbridge, I was addressing the hype over Aero style Menus and Title bars.
Alpha blending will certainly help some skinners in making clean rounded corners.
"Hard-coding" frame shadows is a bad idea IMO. Shadowing should be left as an option for the user.

ahh I see, I figured you missed the other uses of it For the Mac imitation fans I think hardcoding the showdow will be useful for them (I think the Mac shadow is hardcoded?)

I would rather have hardcoded shadows than no shadows or faulty shadows on odd shaped windows.

And you can always make them optional by creating a compound skin.

Ummm....umm...umm..pretty ?

Lets see, brads just doing his job..boss's question was just a question..and no, not everyone knows what an aero title bar looks like, now I do. But, its a bit hard to get excited when i've had to uninstall/reinstall so much lately. Finally have " things " working but the site is still being quirky..sigh.

As long as it works..i'll be happy.

I like that one much better, especially the taskbar and systray. Very, very cool.

Phil

You obviously take great pleasure in insulting people and their personal opinions. I am having a bad day, so in an attempt to make me feel better, I will try your little trick.

Phil you are an insignificant little twit!

nope - didn't work for me - guess I'm not simple enough.

I'm happy that I can live in a world where everything is so good in other ways that an alpha-blended titlebar is a significant difference. If that makes me sad, so be it.

A lot of people have been waiting for this for a while now. Like, 2001. It's a big thing, in that respect.

Thanks for the preview. Looks good...

Those shots are definitely *very* cool! Even if you're not fond of the Aero look, this opens the door to a lot of new and imaginative skins!

i. want.

very slick... i've noticed the msn explorer browser has always had that cool feature where the menus blur out the content behind them, and i've wished for that in WB
