Msgboard Chatroom Marathon

Honestly, I would go to IRC for this kind of stuff, but if any of you have been there recently, everyone seems to be...inactive. Sooooooooo, out of boredom, I'm turning a thread among this msgboard into a chat room, anyone care to join? =P.

It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.

New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P

Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

why would you want a mouse toy?

fuzzy is much more fun, and easier to catch, since he doesnt escape though mouse holes

To think, I've wasted so much time not being a cat. Seems to be the ideal thing to be - cuddled, chocolate, soft laps. Makes one feel all soft, warm and fuzzy inside. Do cats cry? (Tears of joy, of course.)

Hi KarmaGirl. Yes chocolate and more chocolate. Have to go to the store and replenish the supply. Used it all up on the icons. (yes, Feline, all are chocolate coated.)

Chocolate coated Feline? Hmmm..interesting

Oh, by the way, starone, if somebody (like that crazy cat) refers to "JavaBrain", they are refering to me.

Wow, I can't believe how many posts have been made since yesterday pm. We'll be at 3000 in no time.

Feline: I tried all that stuff and everything is still dead. I suppose I will just have to live without it or dedicate about 3 hours or so to try to play around with it.

JavaBrain you flatterer

as for you having two names, this is what happens when you change names after we have all got used to you being called JavaBrain.

i still see no good reason to move to your new (and perhaps less apt) name. it is just a matter of wearing you down

werewolf the cat bed is back!

the next idea (hopefully fairly quick) is to:
* unload WB
* rename the WB dir
* install a clean WB 3.4c
* install a clean copy of starone the cats skin

then see what happens.

i was and am still trying to avoid the reinstall.

i am wondering what effect your attempts to register the dll had, since that seemed for a short time it actually seemed to work.

feline: I'll have to try your suggestion this weekend sometime.

The short time it actually worked was when I deleted my OE path statement (I did this using the cmd prompt and I just retyped the path statement. The OE part was subsequently automatically put back in.)

/me loves being a kitty bed. you and starone the cat can just climb on up and I'll pet you and tickle you and feed you chocolate biscuits and we can play the day away

yes, it is the way it did work briefly that is causing me to wonder what is going on.

my current theory is that the first problem was having OE in the system path.

however, i was under the impression that updating the PATH variable in a command window was a local setting, which is why it kept on being reset.

if we can get two WB installs next to each other, one where it works and one where it doesnt, then perhaps we can diff them to find the rest of the problem.

as for a cat bed, it am not going to turn down an invitation like that

feline: colorpad is the best, free, skinnable, color picker around (IMHO)

i already have colorpad on this machine.

can i get a colour wheel out of it?

fiddling with the amounts of red, blue and green seperately really isnt that helpful.

i just want to say "that sort of shade", and then fine tune it if needs be.
Reply #2118 Top
no you can't get a color wheel with CP, but if you've got a color in mind somewhere on you desk.... I'm sure you already know how to use it

werewolf - but if you've got a color in mind somewhere on you desk....

interesting

/me wonders if management will go for the argument i need fancy wall papers so i can use them as colour selection devices?

Feline: Holy Babya Batman. He amuses me; and all the fuss surrounding him is very entertaining.

Your boss won't let you have fancy wallpapers? Kinda strict, ay?

I tried to find you a good color picker with a color wheel, but that combination seems to have eluded me. I didn't have a great deal of time to do this yesterday. Maybe today I'll be a bit more successful.

work claim that the reason my 500mhz machine is so slow is that i use wallpaper and WB.

/me *sigh*

personally i think it has something to do with using Access, Excel, Word and god knows what else.

bit of a long running argument really.

they say "its fast when i use your machie", but they dont load all the documentation i do.

/me is taking up just ignoring boss, since they dont know what they are talking about

yes, but none of them have colour wheels

however, i have developed a cunning plan!

/me patiently waits for the dramatic lightning effects

since work are claim i am being trained in windows programming (insert rude comments about the definition of training) i will try and write a colour wheel program
