Msgboard Chatroom Marathon

Honestly, I would go to IRC for this kind of stuff, but if any of you have been there recently, everyone seems to be...inactive. Sooooooooo, out of boredom, I'm turning a thread among this msgboard into a chat room, anyone care to join? =P.

It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.

New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P

Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

well, experiment number 1 had an interesting result.

if you remove the smart.dll file from your WindowBlinds dir and then load a window using starone's skin, the quick menu button just isnt there!

putting the file back and launching a new window, and the button is back and works once more as expected.

it is worth pointing out that the WindowBlinds dir is not in my system PATH, so i am correct in thinking that WB can find files in its own directory without any problems.

starone the pussy cat - Oh well, think I'll go hide in a corner somewhere until coaxed out.

/me decides that you have been there long enough, and need to come and join the fun

what to tempt you out with

perhaps some chocolate treats to start with?

/me knows where to find a wide range of lovely chocolate treats

oh come on, no need to be shy, no one bites much, and if werewolf does, just sit on the middle of his back where he cannot so easily reach you

he is only being playful after all

i think this is a personal best!

this one will make it 11 consecutive posts, and not a single repeat to pad it with.

also, nice and tall on the scree.

/me *glows with pride*

well, i tried to resist, but since the rest of you are sleeping on the job, i just had to give into temptation.

it is like that quote "i can resist anything except for temptation"

So, feline, you have 5 GCSEs in English...so you took the exam 5 times?

/me looks puzzled

So starone is a cat now? When did this happen? As for tickling, all furry creatures respond to a good tickle. Hmmm, we've only just got her in here and you are trying to hold her down already...you are a naughty puddytat.

/me is worried starone is a little shy furry animal easily frightened by nasty clawed beasts...

The problem with programmers is excessive use of the TLA. This quite naturally leads to a limited vocabulary, and a diminished brain capacity due to having to think up new ones.

/me wonders if anyone will own up to creating the name TWAIN. A bit more than three letters so it probably wasn't a programmer

/me is very curious about where Doreen goes between posts.

Is she kept in a cupboard somewhere getting dusty?

/me waggles large bar of chocolate to temp Doreen out to play...

NO NO NO! feline, you can't have any crayons to play with. It's not fair when only a few know how to use them.

/me goes away to sulk

Fuzzy Logic is very curious about where Doreen goes between posts.

by Fuzzy Logic - 8/28/2002 7:18:47 PM

you know you're startin to post similiar to feline... hehe

Fuzzy I just go in between post back to work on my machines, chasing my kids, & cleaning, so I'm pretty much a hopping bunny

feline doesnt know what international ICD-9's are
perhaps this is a good thing?
by feline - 8/28/2002 12:35:50 PM

Feline ICD-9's are a universal numeric code to translate a medical diagnosis into for Computer Data Input and Report Generating purposes (the one lingo known at all Hospital all over the world)

and you guys are making it very hard for me to keep up w/ this thread all this chitter chatter going on bet my get backs... hehe
Reply #2089 Top
Well, I popped in and agree with Doreen, it is hard to keep up with this thread. Man, you guys are making my head swim. I want to be a cat not a fish. Feline, Feline, Feline, Werewolf, Werewolf, Werewolf, Fuzy, Fuzzy, Fuzzy, my, my, my. (Now see what you have done.) I'm starting to babble. I like you Doreen, but all this ICD and hospital stuff at the end of this thread has just thrown me overboard. And, of course, by the time I get here everyone is gone, which even makes it worse. Now it seems I'm starting to talk to myself, or by myself, or, well, something like that. Oh well, good opportunity to actually be longwinded - no one around to stop me. Hum, this might be fun afterall. I'll just stay here and have my own party. Yup, just me, myself and I.

ah!
at times like this you just have to love the UK and its health service

i deal with the messages hospitals send to doctors, and i have never heard of these.

these labs like to use readcodes. well, that isnt really true. they are told they are supposed to like using readcodes. instead they really like to use lots of unstructured free text instead. dont you just love global standards?

Doreen - and you guys are making it very hard for me to keep up w/ this thread all this chitter chatter going on bet my get backs... hehe

its all a conspiacy to get to to stay longer so that you can keep up more easily

good advice
/me yields to the temptation to eat chocolate while ticking people

Fuzzy Logic - So, feline, you have 5 GCSEs in English...so you took the exam 5 times?

Fuzzy Logic looks puzzled

i needed a pass at grade C or above to get into Uni.

they had "issues" with my spelling, and the way that i think.

in the end it took me 5 goes to get a suitable pass.

the ironic thing is that i was told that i would have done far better at A-level (exams at 18) english due to the way i think. of course to get there i would have to have passed the GCSE version first *raspberry*

/me *giggle*
as for when and how it happened, this is to do with the smartbutton thread. this is what you get for not following the linked threads

if i am such a naughty pussy cat, then perhaps you should do something about it?

actually, it would be more fair to involve starone the pussy cat, since she is the one that you are concerned about

/me thinks this should be a *LOT* of fun

Fuzzy Logic is worried starone is a little shy furry animal easily frightened by nasty clawed beasts...

what, there are nasty clawed beasts around here???

where?

and how cuddly are they???

outstanding news!

dont worry, i am here now!

/me *throws cusion at fuzzy*

i have posted the name of the relivent thread several times already here.

all the details of using crayons are there! along with lots of examples and a program to help use them even.

dont worry, feline to the rescue

being a cat is more a state of mind than anything else. it just takes a bit of practice.

the rest follows quite quickly once you get the basics sorted out.

anyway, with our expert help (were else can you find such a collection of furry creatures?) you will be a cat in no time at all

I like you Doreen, but all this ICD and hospital stuff at the end of this thread has just thrown me overboard.

dont worry to much about that. that is just knowledge creap

it turns out werewolf is dealing with pathology and computers.

i deal with pathology and computers.

and it seems so does Doreen.

so now and then the one of the strands will stray into this common ground. the odd thing is we dont actually have that muych common ground, well at least i dont. the differences are really quite big.

starone the pussycat - And, of course, by the time I get here everyone is gone, which even makes it worse. Now it seems I'm starting to talk to myself, or by myself, or, well, something like that. while you are waiting for people to return, i would suggest setling down for a catnap on a pile of chocolate somewhere.

that way someone is sure to find you when they reappear, and you will be rested when the games start
Reply #2097 Top
starone, i am prowd and deeply flattered that you wanted to be me

the only thing is i am not sure who i would be if i wasnt me.

so why shouldnt we both be me / cats?
dracoform has just made a delicious suggestion

cats are furry

starone is a cat

so starone should be furry.

anyone remember the experiments with JavaBrain wearing nothing but a fur coat and the chocolate handcuffs?

starone, where are you?

/me wonders if this is me being a naughtly pussy cat again

Starone to feline, the cat is here. Fully transfomed, rested and leaping large fences at a single bound. Whee this is fun. Air loops, nose dives with landing on paws, wheeeeeeee. Wish I had done this sooner. Air loops, more air loops, and even more air loops. Oh oh, I think I'm dizzy now. Well, maybe by the time the olympics roll around again, I'll be in better shape. Guess you really need to work up slowly to these new things. Hum, think I'll go find a mouse toy. Nope, better wait. Might be too stenuous after all the air loops. Better to purr up, no curl up in a soft cushiony chair. (I think I'm getting the hang of all this.) More long windiness (he he) - can't stop me. Maybe I should break this up into more threads though. Sorta of like spreading the wealth. I know (the lightbulb just went off) - one sentence, one post. But then if I did that I would lose my reputation for longwindiness. Oh well, a new puzzle idea to solve. Better leave the puzzle until later as my head is still spinning from the air loops. Gee it's fun being zany, letting your hair down, etc. Especially when your all alone and no one is watching. Well, maybe someone will show up and I can slip by them again. Then magically appear and read 20 more threads, deliver another alone exhortation (or is that a long exhortation), leave and wait for the fur to start flying again. Hum, seems like I've begun a merry-go-round life. (Starone makes mental note to listen to Feline, Werewolf and Fuzzy with extreme caution.)

dont you mean listen to us with extream care?

after all, such pearls of wisdom should be carefully collected and studied

as for a soft cat bed, i find that werewolf serves quite well

also JavaBrain has a nice lap, and can be convinced to feed cats chocolate and to make a fuss of them, which is nice
