I know what you mean about DA being your second home. I go there and browse the photography section all the time. WinCustomize is here for skins, and DA handles the rest. Definitely not sites that compete. I think that they do nicely in their co-existence.

DA is now giving me a headache! Since late last night I've not been able to logon. Nothing has changed on my pc - it's on 24/7, managed to logon from work ok but nothing from here I get so frustrated with pc's when things like this happen and you can't see an explanation. Done all the usual like deleting cookies and temp internet files, change the password, check the system time etc. THEY HATE ME

Thanks all for the kind words on my pics. Here's another frustrating thing. I have loads of good pics for which I can't find the negatives. This is a small house, they can't have just vanished. I'm having a bad day again. Of course, I forgot, it's Monday...

Fuzzy, there are all sorts of reasons that you can't connect from home. First, do you have Norton? If so, did it automatically update itself? Sometimes it tightens security without asking. Second, and probably the most possible reason, is that your ISP is having DNS issues and can't find DA. This happens *a lot*. When you go home, do this:
(make sure that you are connected to the internet)
get to a command line
Type the following: ping 66.28.104.19

That should give you information on if it is actually reachable or not.

To get more DNS information, you can type in at the command line:
tracert 66.28.104.19

That information can be given to your ISP to track the problem.

(66.28.104.19 is the IP of DeviantArt, in case you didn't know )

oops, I just gave you information that may not help (sorry). I was thinking that you were having more of a connection issue. With logging on, that doesn'tmake much sense. Your cookies shouldn't matter, as you can log on from all over the place. the only thing that could have happened is that they accidentallyy blocked the IP address that you are using. Do you have a static IP? If not, disconnect then reconnect to the internet to get a new IP. If you do, contact Jark and ask him "Wassup with that?"
