Msgboard Chatroom Marathon

Msgboard Chatroom Marathon

Honestly, I would go to IRC for this kind of stuff, but if any of you have been there recently, everyone seems to be...inactive. Sooooooooo, out of boredom, I'm turning a thread among this msgboard into a chat room, anyone care to join? =P.

It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.

New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P

Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

feline: feline thinks that up the front of GM's t-shirt would be a good place for me to settle down

There seems to be an obsession here regarding goodmorphing's t-shirt and its contents.

/me suggests there may not be enough room there for everyone to play...

FL-"Fuzzy Logic offers his services as masseur to make KG feel better"

Sounds good to me! (Just don't let my hubby find out )

Think back of mine is trying to kill me! Everytime that I think that it is getting better, it takes a turn for the worse. Makes me really mad!

On top of that, I somehow deleted a couple pictures of my daughter that were on my digital camera. They were of her first day of preschool. It made me want to cry!

aaagh KarmaGirl - now if only you had a proper camera with film...

Bit of a snapper my self, couple of Nikons, bag of lenses etc. Don't do as much now as I used to. I don't seem to have the daylight hours available! Thought I might upload a few images to this DeviantArt thingy, is that easy to do? Must get a new 35mm scanner sometime soon. This one is a bit primitive, plus it doesn't like XP. I've loads of photos but they never seem to scan well in colour on this one, it just hasn't got the colour depth necessary.

As for backs, mine's still aching from carrying a load of monitors around yesterday. Funny things backs - even when you think you're not doing anything there's still a lot of stress being put on it.

Fuzzy, it's the first time I blitzed images on that camera. I have no idea what happened. I was looking at them, went to upload them to my PC, and they were gone. Of course, I have had bad rolls of film (I even had a bad bulk reel once), so I guess you just lose an image once an awhile.

It's pretty easy to upload to DA. You just upload in a format they take (I use .jpg because that's what I use). You want to make sure that the file isn't too big, or it will take forever to upload. It's pretty straight forward. I need to get some more of mine uploaded. I just haven't had a chance since I've been trying to catch up from the weekend.

I know what you mean about backs- even when you are sleeping, you are still using the muscles. It's impossible to completely relax them. i hope mine quits acting up- I really hate going to the DR. Always seems like a waste of time (unless they give you good drugs )

Aaaagh! Something not right. I uploaded an image to http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/799334 but on my gallery page the thumb isn't showing. Hmmm, need more practise at this... Oh well, I got a pic to go somewhere at least

/me was simply doing the only polite thing i could think of at the time

after all, with JavaBrain feeling fragile she doesnt need two individuals leaping all over her body, so while you were busy, i decided to make sure that GM wasnt feeling left out!

/me realizes that not everyone has seen some of those big-hawaiian t-shirts! We all can fit in one of those...easy!

KarmaGirl: Stupid back hurts again, /me discovered that the biggest trick in fighting pain is getting on top of it. Once you do that, you can reduce the drug levels... but not let them drop entirely. Once having achieved the upper hand on pain control you want to keep it. If you have to regain it, you may have a harder time the second time. I hope you are feeling better now.

KG: Went to take some headache medicine (figured it has pain medicine in it...) that I left on my desk (I give it to people in need) and it was empty! They used it all while I was gone and left the empty bottle on my desk! I guess I will have to limp to the store at lunch and buy more... /me wonders if this is a sign that your very absense hurts them, and maybe they left the bottle as some misguided token of affection to let you know how much they NEED you?

Sigh.... this makes the fourth or fifth day running I have been fighting porn on my site. I have deleted posts and banned the same person many, many times. I wish there was some way to trace an IP through a message board! I would complain to her server that she is committing lewd and lascivious and unnatural (and probably illegal) acts on minors since we have many preteen members! > > >

gm: goodmorphing is going to keep an eye on that page!

The link goes directly to the pic which loaded fine. The thumb loaded ok too, it shows on the pic page but not in my gallery but the link works. Odd.

More pics to add soon...

GM, you can trace IP's through a message board, or anyone who comes to your site. What is your site programmed in? I may be able to direct you to somebody who can help you set that up.

FL! You got on DA! I'll keep checking back to your page.

I still need to get some more pics up....

you mean Mint Chocolate ?!?!?!?!?!

/me starts wriggling around under GM's t-shirt looking for an access point to her brains

/me sets about burrying my nose and tongue into GM's belly button in a search for mint chocolate

KG Thanks for putting some kind comments on my pic. Shame it's only a quarter of the size of the pic I uploaded, looks better bigger. It started out being bigger - must be something to do with the thumbnail problem. I'll get that sorted then upload some more images. Only have a few though cos my scanner won't work now I'm XP only (unless I connect my old pc up...).

Thanks, KarmaGirl. It is just one of those MSN communities. I am not sure how the message board is set up, it is a lot more complex than this one. We cannot use java, but the message boxes allow for a lot of editing, and we can even switch to an HTML editor (similar to Outlook Express). Anything fancy with HTML or anything else I usually store in the cabs and link to it. They have all kinds of rules about what we can and cannot put onto the site, and it wouldn't be up to me in any case. Also, there is a growing distance between me and the site that is kind of depressing. I am in the process of stepping away some, I guess. I sure hate to see the porn sites stepping in, though. Right now I am more happy to spend time here. The porn posts are abating somewhat (I have caught some of them just as they registered and I think it spooked them a little).

The thing about some of the stuff I have seen (not in this wave, thankfully) is that the images kind of burn in and it is hard to get them out of your memory. I just don't want to let that happen to little kids (if I can stop it from happening).

Sigh... thanks for the offer though. I used to feel happier there and if it were still like that (and if I had more say so) I would be glad to take you up on your offer.

feline sets about burrying my nose and tongue into GM's belly button in a search for mint chocolate /me remembers that it is FUZZY LOGIC who had the three chocolate bars recently... perhaps one was mint!

Fuzzy I like your photography. I used to do pics like that... I never could get the perspective right though. I understand how you set the time delay to get out of the way on that one pic, but I wondered how you kept other people out? Surely that is a crowded walkway. I also really like the stills... especially the window shot. I had a print like that... I made coffee really really strong and soaked the pic overnight in it. It came out nicely aged (a little differently than a sepia tone). Not a lot of BW photographers out there nowadays.

And your pics are very good too, KG. Makes me want to come visit someday...

Gee... all my works are more in manipulating images and sound with HTML and doing animations... no good venue for me I am afraid.

But I am a talented and appreciative viewer... a skilled audience member!

GM- unfortunately, most of the pics up there are no indicative of my style. I am more of a B&W and Sepia toned photographer. I had to post the ones of my trip, though, because it was so pretty up there. And, the other color ones were because I needed some art for a certain place in my house.

The ones of my daughter are more my style. I do a lot of handcolored work (which will be easier once I get going with photoshop) and I do a lot of soft B&W and Sepia work.

If you want to do something real "old school", before there were computers, you could do your own "draw over" of a photo. Take a B&W photo, use indelible ink and draw over it. Then, make a solution of 1 part iodine to 3 parts water. Soak the picture until the silver is gone, and all you have left is the drawing. You can also use a 1 part iodine to 10 part water solution for "aging" B&W prints. I used to do that prior to sepia toning in the Darkroom to give it a different effect. I miss my darkroom..... i still have all the equipment, just no time to do it (that 4 year old sucks up a lot of my time and energy!)

Well, Stardock is off to the Henry Ford Museum today (we take field trips now and then), so I will chat with you guys later!

hey fuzzy, nice shots!! I couldn't find the 'walkway' referred to earlier, I saw 4 pics at the link you provided.

werewolf - GM's 'walkway' is the middle of York Minster. York is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the UK, all the history and that. Well, patience is the answer - you just have to wait for a lull in the masses (especially the Japanese...).
