Having problem with "Edit Account"

Having problem with "Edit Account"

When I go to "edit account" and then to "upload / edit your desktop image" it behaves as if it has uploaded the new picture, but does not change it.

Also, it shows one picture ( a much older one) in "edit account and a different one when I click on my name in the message boards.

Anyone have a clue what's going on?

One thing you can try if you want....delete the desktop and after it shows nothing there, then try uploading the ship pic...

Hello-
I'm back. Same problem still.

OK, when I upload (in 'edit account') a new pic of my desktop, sometimes it will actually change it and sometimes not... however, the only way for me to view it is by clicking on it to see the 'close up'.
In other words, what is displayed prior to any upload is what always remains, which is an old pic from weeks ago and the only way to see if it changed is to click the close up.

If that's not strange enough, when I click on my name here in the message boards it shows yet another picture.

Yrag, if your're around... I also did what you suggested and 'deleted desktop' and when I went back hours later to upload a pic., it restored the one I had deleted hours earlier.... at least that is what I see unless I go in for the close up. And as I said I'm still seeing something else here on the boards.

I don't know if I should laugh or cry! ????

Oh, what the hell...laugh!!!

How exactly are you capturing and saving your Desktop pic for upload?

This isssue is not of paramount importance since everything else works fine thanks to Yrags help yesterday.

However, when I have had problems or questions in the past, it has helped tremendously to be able to show a screen shot of whatever my problem is. As they say a picture is worth a thousand words!

So if someone has ever had this problem or might know how to fix it I would really appreciate it.

Hi Yrag, you're back! Good.

I do a print screen go to paint and save it as jpeg pic and then upload it here.

Is that what you meant?
Yes, but the all the pics you upload are smaller then they should be...in other words they should fill the entire area of your screenshot (no white showing. When you double click on it to enlarge it, it will show actual size) Hold on a sec...let me look at something in paint...

I just clicked on my name to see what you meant and I have no clue why it doesn't fill the entire area. I'm not messing with any of the other features.

BTW, now when I click on my name it's showing the right picture but not in 'edit account'.

OK...click on my profile. Double click on the pic and then use the maximize button on the pic to make full screen. Hit Print Scr on the keyboard and paste in Paint, name it something, save as jpeg, and then upload it to your profile

ok I did it.

But as usual I can't tell if it uploaded it or not. I'm still seeing the previous one even when I click on it for the close up.

yeah...you did it alright....it's that damn ship again...this is awesome . Open your Picture folder and mouse over the ship pic....tell me what it says....jpg, bitmap and the size 800x600, 1024x768 whatever...and what is your screen resolution set to on your monitor...

I also noticed that when I pasted it in paint it was not filling the whole thing.

Can you see it? I uploaded it three times... that's why I took so long but it never changed for me.

When I moused over it and in details on the left it just said,
Demensions: 1280x967
and I have no clue whose demensions those would be.
IOW, it says it in both places.

........
What is your monitor resolution? Look in Display Properties if you don't know....
It says 1024 by 768 pixels.

Is that what you wanted?
I found that in Display Properties>Settings>Screen Resolution
Reply #73 Top
Yup....open Paint and under View/Zoom/Custom...change to 100%. Now do another song and dance with your desktop and upload it.
It says current zoom is at 100%.
You want me to go higher?
No...click on 'Normal' right above it...

Oh...you'll have to click on a higher value to get the 'Normal' available.....
