Toxic Renderer

Toxic Renderer

physical correctness

Found this while researching toxic stuff.

http://www.toxicengine.org/

I was wondering if anyone has heard of it. It's still in alpha ver. 4 but dates back to 2004. An open source renderer under the GNU license. I read what little there was about it and no mention is made of whether or not its still around. As of 17 Nov. 2005 toxic 1.0 alpha 5 was released. There's nothing after that date. The moderators are dictoon, toma (which sounds familiar) and jperret. ring a bell anywhere? BTW ... I can't find any post between 2006 and 2010.

Um.... NO!!!!  I dunno, the things some people will put in their mouths. :S :O

Reminds me of the time my step-daughter put gherkins on top of ice cream and ate it. XO :puke:

It'd be like adding a White House intern to George W Bush back in the day.

Some things are sickening and are just not supposed to go together.

Oh well, I suppose if you get your rocks off on peanut butter and bacon..... :-"

You see ... your world and mine are very different. I grew up in Brooklyn NY and there many strange concoctions got their start. The sandwich in question goes back to when I was a kid. Its actually nutritious believe it or not. Like curried cabbage. You couldn't pay me to eay any curried anything. When I worked in a clock factory here in Pa. a fellow co-worker, from India, always stunk like curry. In the winter time I had to roll down the window to let out the stink, used to drive him to and from work. And in the summertime ... PHEW!!!

So ... I'm well on my way to creating my first SMX. Feels kinda strange ... doing for Xiandi's WB. That is some work of art and the preview I put up ... scrapped! Wasn't working. Nor from what the Doc said or anything like that. I just didn't like it all that much. RnD says stay true to the blind for best results. That is what I'm doing. I also took a look inside the SMX configuration. It looks easy enough. The thing gives you the positions of every graphic, text everything. All I have to do is get the skin right, already noticed a few mistakes I made, load it up and set everything right from the UI The way I have it set up now is totally different from the preview. I even taught myself how to make the hash marks for the dials. I made some hands too but they look scrawny. Oh well, I'll learn as I go along.

Yep, different places different cultures = different tastes and foods.  As for being nutritious, I've just been sitting here thinking about a steak and peanut butter sandwich... for some strange reason.  And when I say strange, it's borderline crazy, even.  I don't like peanut butter... period, yet I have this peculiar craving for a steak and peanut butter sandwich.

:S o_O :O

Hopefully, if I sit here for a while it will subside. :w00t:

As for the Garnet Storm SMX, I think RND is probably right, to stick closely to the original where possible... and even the best WB skinners are learning new skills all the time, so you're not alone with learning as you go along.

It's like life... you never stop learning. :sun:

Yes sir and that's the fun part. I like a challenge and this smx is just that. Got a PM from Xiandi. Neophil  is uploading his smx for Garnet Storm. She told him go for it which she could hardly refuse seeings how he's made one for just about every blind out there. But they all look the same, no diversity except maybe the colors. Mine coming along nicely and it won't be too long before I put up another preview. Have the bitmaps almost finished. All I need now are the buttons for checking e-mail and something else but I don't know what yet.

I look forward to seeing this SMX of yours in operation.  Even if I don't use SMX on my main rig, there's nothing to stop me loading it onto my spare/backup machine, is there!!!   Yup, it's sounding quite interesting.

 :sun: |-)

You're not the only one. I have to slow down because getting impatient is not a good thing. Found a way to fix the mistakes I made. I always have a backup just in case I do stupid stuff, which in this case I did. Merged layers that were not supposed to be merged. A few more days I think.

That's the main thing.... that you're having fun.

Me, I've spent a couple of day vegging out cos I've not been sleeping well and I'm tired as all buggery.... damned arthritic pain, I just can't get comfortable and doze off.  Most nights it takes hours, then there's other nights I don't... can't doze off at all.  Right now my neck is giving me hell... the discs have worn away to nothing between some vertebrae (same in my lower back) and it's just bone on bone, so if you don't see me for a day or two, that'll be the reason why... I'm veged out for a while recuperating from a lack of sleep.

I'm sorry to hear that guy. Is it change of season where you are? Sometimes that can aggravate conditions. When it starts getting cold I slow down to almost a crawl. Don't mind the cold, its the stiff joints that are complaining. Some days good, some days not so good. As they say ... this too shall pass. No ... no jokes. This too shall pass. You'd think I was referring to ... oops!
