So I finally got this email today telling me about the new Stardock Central. I guess that means I gotta go through the lengthy process of uninstalling all the Stardock apps via Impulse and then reinstall 'em via Stardock Central, right? Seems like a major pain but... eh... if it comes to that then I'll eventually get around to doing it. Maybe by then I'll install some updates.

Both WB and IP come with some skins/themes/etc to start you off with. Getting more doesn't require a subscription to here. I've been a ODNT subber for a while now and have snagged a few skins here and there. But never once had I hit the cap or limit or anything that would say I need a WinCustomize sub in order to snag more. Even if I were to hit that ceiling, it's no big deal. It's a small wait and I snag what I missed the next day. I think yer just gripi

Sweet, Firefox 4 looks good now with the beta running. But now I have a couple of inquiries about it. Before the WB beta, it'd look all funky and stuff with the skin interface. This is isn't a big issue. Adding the exe into the exception list pretty much solves that. Since I run FRAPS for screenshots and video capturing during gaming, I noticed that the FPS counter on the corner of the window. My guess for that is Firefox4 using the Direct2D stuff whic

My only request for the next Object Desktop is the inclusion of ObjectDock. But that's just me. I know it stands well on its own but I often wish that the app was part of the suite. I have no qualm if it's never to be included. But it's just one less app that I end up not using.
Would'a thought it obvious, would you expect to get windows vista & then 7 for nothing same goes for nero 6,7,8,9 or any other newer software version,of course not all you get are the updates up to the point the new version comes out, that by the way is the whole idea of subscribing to ODNT continue the sub & you get an upgrade to a later version if there is one, however objectdock has never been part of odnt nor is cfx amon

I'm a bit miffed that we'd have to pay 10 bucks to upgrade to v2.0. OD+ has been around for eons and the product page makes no mention of how far your future upgrades can go. So if a new customer tried out ObjectDock, pays for + features, and then v2.0 is released many many months later. Then you charge $10 for people who want to upgrade? Yes, there are things like a lifetime license (aka pay-once) and some are marketed like that. But again I reiterate that the

That's rather interesting. I thought that with the 'net and other online retailers that there would be no lines (unlike Win95's launch). Has anyone else had to dash out to get this? Who ordered online and is expecting delivery?

I'm already set here. I thought I was going to end up buying Win7 Home Premium on Day 1 but I was lucky enough to pick up 2 copies of Win7 Ultimate from their New Efficiency event. Be forewarned that the Win7 they hand out are 32bit discs! But thankfully the keys are interchangeable between x86 and x64. *whew!* Those who have never touched Vista know nothing! ;) You have never lived fully until you have gone through the days of using Vista! Well, I used Vista early before but backtracke

Excuse the bump for such an old thread but this is off a freshly reinstalled game, all the patches, PunkBuster updates, and WindowBlinds 7 Beta2. Here are some info thus far: Windows 7 x64 RC, WindowBlinds 7 Beta2, BF2 1.50 w/ latest PunkBuster files, Call of Duty: World at War is also installed which I will refer to later. I have gone through the hassle of reverting my theme to Vista's Aero Glass just to play BF2 but after a while, I stopped playing altogether. Si

Re: #16
I have Windows 7 Ultimate RTM, i got it for free, not off technet, but off a torrent. I have no time limit and it's fully activated. So I hardly see why so many people are complaining about having to wait. Just search bittorrent.
*cough*illegalcopy*cough* Word to the wise. Never flaunt your shady acquisitions. And none of us are complaining about the wait. We are merely anxious to get our hands on it. The Stardock folks are able to get their hands on it [B]legitima

Releasing RTM software to TechNet and MSDN subscribers early has always been known. It's not marketing but rather a stage to prepare for the public retail release. Assume that MS made the OS available for purchase as soon as it hit RTM for a bit. Consider the consequences that bring of releasing an OS that is freshly finished with nearly no software to fully take advantage of the features the OS has. Sure some old software will work. But they are old, oudated, and may be using old API calls

I couldn't get Impulse to update to beta2. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled WB7. And up comes the new interface along with the Corporate skin. Looks good so far. Is it me or is the user icon for the start panel misaligned? The panel skin appears it should be positioned in the center of the 2nd column but the user icon is located to the far right instead. Well, other than that, the new interface and Corporate skin looks amazing. I finally have something to change up the appearance o

Woohoo! Finally! And that skin looks very nice. Time to see how it performs in Win7 and blog it. edit: Just installed it. Where's that skin danilloOc was working on? :o Yeah, I tried a skin that came installed w/ it and it didn't exactly look right. But hey, it's a beta! wheeeeeee! I'm guessing that skins will need to be designed around Win7 to be usable instead of using any ol' Vista skin, right? Hope we'll see a Win7 compatible skin soon!
I think you should have some patience to wait and see what has to come. The softwares you mentioned are supported for XP and Vista & they will be for Win 7 too. Object Dock works on Win 7. Why any software company will make softwares for a pre-release OS... How many buyers will it have then...What if the final OS is a bit different from its pre-release... these are the few questions which are better the answers.
There needs to be a sticky with regards to this. So hopefully we can get some answers about this upcoming OS called Windows 7. So here are three general questions regarding this. Which Stardock software (ie. WindowBlinds, DeskScapes, IconPackager, DesktopX, etc.) can run on Windows 7? When, if the software is not supported under Windows 7, can we expect basic/preliminary support for this OS for any of the Stardock software? What, if the software is supporte

> Option to disable built-in skin/use WindowBlinds skinning I read this and figure I'd go look this up but cannot find it. Where is it? I probably have missed it while glancing but I didn't see the option explicitly.

Cool. I hope y'all are looking into this minor problem of updating WindowBlinds. For about 3 or 4 updates/versions now, I've been having trouble getting the software updated. Every time I updated and rebooted, it wants to install the WB services, and then another reboot. But after that reboot, it wants to reinstall the service AGAIN. Even if I tried to cancel it, it wouldn't get past this. I hope that either WB or Impulse is fixed, tweaked, or whatever... so that I don't have to go throu

A bit of an update to a persistent problem I had. I dunno what I did, how it did it, or whether or not it's something else. Apparently I have fixed this problem I had. First off, I was doing the usual googling to see if I can find information on this problem. I had a lead but I thought it turned up dead when I couldn't get Vista to rebuild or refresh the icon cache (via deleting IconCache.db). I don't know if this was the case but I landed on <a href="http://ww
