Yes, as it has that Hyperthread thing IIRC. AMD64 will be the same when in use with its Hypertransport or whatever the proper names are. Actually, HThreading is only giving you a virtual CPU so that Windows will send additional processes to the CPU. It's still sending everything to 1 CPU core, which is diff

Would the community service includes 'installation of Linux or alternative operating systems' and 'converting people away from Microsoft Windows'? Really, why drop a heavy fine like that? MS shouldn't be going soft on the punk. Let that kid try to deal with $500,000. He's old enough to be on his own.
Having tried LogonStudio, I find it to be an interesting piece of software. However, while it's nice to get a different logon screen, I find it to be lacking ever since support was dropped. The fact that it's lacking now makes it hard for theme authors to make that idea they had into reality. With some limitations in how the bitmaps and icons work in conjunction with LogonStudio, it makes realizing people's vision for a theme a problem. These limit
While this is a cool thing to have, it'd be better to have the watchlist extended to watching skins themselves instead of just authors. But why am I not able to watch skin authors too? I see the 'Watch' button on articles but I don't see them on skin authors when I view the author's profile page.
Wheeee, Longhorn. Erm... still wanna know if the technology behind WGF will be backported to XP/2003. As much as I'd love to use Longhorn's fancy GUI, I'd like to see the old GDI+ code scrapped for good or be replaced with an API wrapper to the WGF engine. At least, from a performance point of view, everything "should" run smoother, especially applications specializing in effects like WindowFX.
I'm still waiting to see if we'll get an overhauled window rendering system and at least a demo video of its compositing power. I'll take fancy window transitions and effects over 3D-izing widgets any day.
I'll vouch for the fact that wireless can be tricky at times. Often it's just a hit-or-miss. Linksys-brand routers still costs a bundle compared to other competitors. Belkin's own F5D7230-4 uses similar hardware. But unfortunately whatever changes they've made to it was for the worse. As a router, it worked flawlessly. Its wireless functions worked w/o a hitch. This is all fine and dandy until at some random point it starts to slow down to a cra
Looks good... It'll inherit WB skins, right?
Dunno if it's faster but... will know some time later... I still think a minimalistic theme could be of some use to those who don't want all those fancy images for the borders and stuff.
While it's nice that everything looks all pretty and such, I think all the images it's calling up is placing a bit of too much load on the server. But then again, I wouldn't know about the performance issues the server has in relation to this site. One thing I think is needed is a minimalistic version of this site... one that doesn't have all the fancy borders and stuff but just the absolute and basic necessities. Can such a 'theme' be imple
WindowFX shadows... I have tried it before a while back. While really fancy at times, it got cumbersome when launching certain applications. I do not know what may cause it but I feel that it may be in the Windows GDI+ subsystem. Given that Microsoft has extended the GDI API to enable developers to create some cool effects, the code is quite old and is only meant to extend the capabilities of legacy code. What seems to be missing are new driver APIs or drawing systems that gets ride of the o
"Kirk to Enterprise... one to beam up."
Heh... this thing spreads like a virus. It showed up on a gaming news site I check daily (Blue's News), and about a week later, it shows up on NBC Nightly News. What's next? It gets posted on Slashdot?
Found the log file. Uninstall successful. Thanks.
Same here. Just recently installed it and didn't find it useful so I'd like to remove it from the system. On WinXP SP1 system, installed in custom folder, went to Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, ed Stardock Central, spewed out missing install.log error. Would be good if someone can give us a listing of files installed and any registry addition/changes.
