Important to note that currently glass furnaces have no animation when working so it is impossible to tell whether your opponent keeps them working or not. Most other building (farms, reactors, mines, quarries, steel mills) do have working animations.
I agree with magic about robots, although you do need to be ahead on upgrades and cash to manipulate markets efficiently. Also, I'd say that power adjacency is underused - take map 2 from Wino vs Magic - I'd consider founding a robot on Magic's spot and using solar panels to increase iron production to get that annoyance out of the way without overcomitting claims. Well, the idea is that it happens early, within the first few hours preferably. It's not necessarily fair if a player loses the game if he was just a few seconds too late to click on the only usable spot on the map
We've had a training session with DeathTacticus and came up with an idea (well, he did): each player should have a right to ask to change the map once per match (sometime early probably, before sol 2 or something). That would help avoid those situations when a game is just lost on found for one side. I think it's a decent suggestion, shouldn't be too hard to rehost a game twice per match (at most)
I had this happen to me today, cancelled out of the queue after the error and rejoined. The next match I quit out of because it was taking abnormally long to start the game. That's not exactly how these tournaments work - all you have to do is to schedule your match with whoever you get paired with during the week and play it (and make sure it's streamed/recorded so devs can watch it). There will be some kind of a deadline before which the match should be finished but it's not the kind of a tournament where all games have to be played in one sitting

I've definitely seen it happen, I remember a map I played twice vs DT and once vs Cubit back in December (haven't played much QM lately). Which feels weird, even if there are 10000 maps, the odds of seeing the same maps over and over again, sometimes back to back are really low

Is that a bad thing though? I like having that moment of pause look around, see what's going on. I guess if there's someone who uses the auction to check every single resource by buying it up then selling it down... that feels a little cheesy, worst case I think the market can be locked during the auction... Even then though, I don't feel that's necessary.
