i'm trying to create a planetary defense improvement that will double the defense values of ships in orbit, any idea as to how to do this?
negative bonuses work just fine, i've made many modded galactic wonders and superprojects that have a trade off, something good and something bad. For example, the harmony field, sets morale at 100% for a planet, but cuts production in half and lowers resistance ability. and AS SOON as it's built you can see production on that world drop by half. But the negative number doesn't show up on the list of bonuses IN GAME, that's all. So i just make sure to put that in the description of the wonde
i have the same bug! can't make new threads! and i've been trying for days!
they're not treated as 0, they're treated as negative values, just not displayed in game. I.E., they work... i've done it.
Native resolution for the game is 1024x768. The game will only run on increments of this unfortunately. Wrong. You can play it at any resolution higher than 1024x768. Just open up your prefs.ini file, and enter the DisplayWidth and DisplayHeight you want the game to run at and save the file. Badda Bing. I have a professional graphics card
I've been having these since i got the game... there has never been any viable explaination from SD or anyone else, i've been thru the ringer on this one with support and what not. still no answer... oh well.
A while back i remember reading the stardock guys were investigating the possibility of being able to put one's race logo on certain peices of ship jewelry. However i haven't heard anything about it since. what's up? was the idea abandoned?
judging from the graph on the poll, and a little math, one comes to the conclusion the ratio of male players to female players is around 45.43 to 1. Tho i'm willing to bet it's a little higher in practice.
I've got a mouse that likes to double click on me. This happens quite often. I play at 1026 x 728 resolution. get a new mouse
if you use the code i provided above, it should work fine, without that bug... try it
here's the code for a working upgraded starport.. works fine. no problems. NOTE: YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE ALL { with , AND ALL } with > {Improvement} {S_Name}Advanced Starport{/
06mcclurej, i've done the same thing, but i've run into a bug, start a new game, in battle of the gods mode (so u'll have all the techs). Build a normal starport on a world, then upgraded it to your upgraded starport. Then decommission the upgraded starport, and u will only be able to rebuild a normal starport, not an upgraded one.. or at least that's the bug i've run into....
i don't suppose we can have um... like... another BETA be4 then? like ya know.. to test things for you on a um, larger scale? as like, highly untrained unprofessionals??
LogicSequence, actually I do have permission to use that model. and that's fine, as long as you have permission from the creator, more power to you.
Races surrendering to another race ( stating they made the best offer without you being given the opportunity to place a bid) there is no real bidding, they're just doing it to SPITE YOU.. DUH No built in Ship
@ LogicSequence Settle down there Skippy. If you would refer to one of Brian’s other posts you would have known that he is using other people’s models. He stated it already. As far as getting the creators permission, the mod hasn't been released yet. So it’s a little premature to be waving a finger. I’m sure Brian will get all the necessary permission before it is released
Umm u can't just take a model (i recognize it) and convert it for use in a game without the creator's permission... *waves finger* naughty naughty illegalness! I direct you to the image below...
hmmmm... ok... well more to the point i suppose, i'm trying to create a planetary sheild improvement for the game, something that will say double the sheild defense of orbiting planets, is there any way to specify JUST sheild defense? and of course make it sepcific to orbiting ships ONLY when they're defending the planet...?
Headline title says it all, what exactly does Starship Quality Bonus do??
more eye candy of course Better planetary invasion, perhaps even spread over multiple turns, taking sections of the planet at a time... And not using a planets population as soldiers, seperate them. Perhaps adding ground forces as buildable items. Planetary bombardment. Different races colonizing different quality planets... i.e. thalan for, i dunno, methan atmosphere wor
I haven't read through the entire post here, so forgive me if this is a repeat, but when i went to upgrade a class of ships just now, instead of costing me 30,000bc as the upgrade screen said it would, it only cost me 1700ish. Looks like the calculation is messed up... Tho i can't say i didn't mind the cheap upgrade of 29 ships .
in a word, YES it's always worth it. It's a simple calculation, lets say u have a class 8 planet ripe for colonization. if you have a 20% PQ bonus, that means: (8 * 0.2) + 8 = 9.6 (10). Meaning that planet will now have 10 tiles to work with instead of 8, that's 2 more factories. The larger the planet, the more tiles you get. Take a size 16 planet, (16 * 0.2) + 16 = 19.2 (19), meaning you have 3 extra tiles. TILES ARE WORTH THEIR WEIGHT IN GOLD. Some peopel will say, but hey! you could ha
If you're playing the game right, NLC's advantage for neutral civs can be nurfed by a booming economy and 1 or 2 mined tech resources. Evil, on the other hand, offers you free starbase upgrades, (hells yea, everyone's a battle station now ) and killer extra weapons. I always hear people complaining of bankruptcy and never having enough money in this game, and it flaberghasts me... I mean am i
Did anyone from SD get the email i sent? Look up a few posts I've also noticed the New Game > Load Game > all ship jewelry dissapears upon upgrade bug, in case you guys were interested.
