Other Questions... Why is it if your stock is all bought say 60/40 why is it that player B can still purchase player A's stock for the share price to make it 50/50 but, player A can not purchase their own stock for share value to make it 70/30? Not to mention why is it when player B purchases said stock (which would be in player A's pocket) Player A doesn't get the cash value of the stock, after all

At the moment I semi regularly use patents as Scientific. (Ie. I replace a steel mill at HQ3-4, get teleportation, nanotech and maybe slant drilling or carbon scrubbing and then recycle the patent lab.) I think one way to make patents more viable is to have colony lab modules reduce the price of patents (by no less than 10% per module) rather than the time to obtain them. As it is the extra time cost of building the patent lab away from your HQ cancels out the bonus somewhat. Time to obtain a

I now have the best time, after improving on Kingmorgan's method for the best time on next_version. Replay should be up on the server.

Good regular's always found as close as they can to their construction resources so they can upgrade ASAP and race to HQ3 and above as quickly as possible. Metall mines & steel mills or quarries should always be a player's first construction projects. Upgrading to the highest HQ levels first unlocks additional claims and gives you the ability to control and exploit the resource market at your whim. Being the first to produce the most profitable resource of the time allows you to p

Using aluminium for fuel imo is bad because there is almost no basis for it in real life physics. I'd like OTC to continue to be soft fiction based. I think cutting the market volatility of harvestable resources (water, alu, sili, iron, carbon and power) in half will go a long way in buffing scavenger, which does not realistically have an extra intermediate resource to sell off for a lot of cash. Additionally harvestable resources can be easily mass produced anyway, which

I assume that it should be an easy task to make the 4 digit random seed 5+ digits. why not make it 32 digits, unless there is a big overarching reason not to, which I don't currently see.

Scientifics do well when they are adjacent to a lot of resources. Expansives can easily switch their buildings around to produce what is most profitable. Scavengers propser when they have the high carbon tiles. Robotics can easily speed through upgrades and with very little debt. When geothermals are sparse, carbon and silicon are bound to become expensive because windmills and solar panels require these in order to be built. It is bett

A lot of the time new players don't communicate and aren't looking for advice. I think the times are rare when you can actually help someone enjoy the game and play it better. I think the game is too sophisticated for a lot of the new players and I don't think that is a mistake of the game if it is true. Though Zultar's tutorial series (when he finishes them) may be a great help when the game leads the new players to them because it makes most new player's inherent lazines

If any of you know orbital mechanics or feel that Offworld Trading Company is in any way related, I think you will appreciate what SpaceX has achieved today. Today, SpaceX launched its Falcon 9 2-stage rocket and brought the 1st stage back to land at cape canaveral. Before today no rocket that delivered its payload to orbit hass ever successfully retrieved its booster stage. What this means is that space travel that is 10-100x cheaper than it is right now is an ever faster approaching

At the end of the match my opponent leaves and immediately starts another automatch and somehow i get to observe it in a very glitchy manner. bug occurs at around 12:19 I don't mind observing an automatch being an actual feature but not with the bugs.

personally i'm fine with gang sniping of too fast upgrading players who don't have 5 of their own stock. I agree that scav needs a buff, atm scav falls behind always unless they have some really good carbon. I think your 1v1 free goonsquad suggestion is a good one. Perhaps everyone should always get 1 free goonsquad.

with the way in which the stock system works and gameplaay runs out, it is no longer greatly beneficial to pay off debt. also, paying debt has a 4x boosting effect not 5x because the 1x value of the cash used to cancel debt disappears.

I was thinking perhaps by standard you could get mouseover information about your opponent's total net consumption + productionby like we now do with the colony.

I don't think more starting stocks will fix it for 8p FFAs because I've played 6 FFAs today, each with about 6 to 8 players. In most of them underdogs bought into big players and allowed 3rd parties to jump in and finish the kill on an otherwise strong player. In another I was racing vs someone else (so we both ended up with 5 stocks in each other, starting at 10 stocks of ourselves owned) and a third party with the ability to buy either me or my target had the ability to decide the f

scientific is very easy to play when adjacent to steel and water, and people generally don't try to kill them first when they're in this kind of a superb spot which they need to be. And they're not a colony type, they're a company type.
