In SC1, my favorite ship was the Arilou Lalee'lay Skiff. I liked it because it was easy to pilot, easy to target enemies, and had ample trolling potential. I loved to park next to a planet and use it as a "planetary shield". My friends would HATE that. "Stop camping the planet!" I also liked the Skiff because it reminded me of the ships in a Space War port, one of the precursors to SC. http://www.old-games.com/down
No invites have been sent. We're trying to keep the number very very low since we will be spending a lot of time with the first group of founders.
I hope I get selected because I'm looking forward to playing all of you in SuperMelee. If I don't get an invite, I'll know you Stardock'ers are scared of losing. :P

Maybe they were like me. I started the survey at work, got to the DX request, and then had to redo it at home. In hindsight, I should have submitted my DX data for my low-end home PC, my mid-range work PC, and my work ultrabook in addition to my high-end desktop because I could foresee myself playing local multiplayer on these systems against friends and family.

I was slotted in the morning to come in and play SC2/UQM SuperMelee. What I didn't realize, though, was how much of a fan my co-worker was for local multi-player games. Not only did we spend the hour playing SuperMelee, he went back to it later on in the evening and showed it to his friends. I got
It's just the aliens and lore. Ship abilities and such are based on what is best for the game without any other considerations.
This makes me very happy. I am definitely looking forward to getting a new set of ships with a mix of old and new concepts!

How far does the concept of not using the races from SC1 and SC2 extend? I'm fine with having a whole new set of aliens, but I'm worried that it will mean that ship concepts and abilities from the original games will have to be avoided. Ex: "We can't add a ship that reincarnates if the owner button-mashes because that was already done in SC2." Will SD add a ship that steals crew members, launches fighters/marines?, has inertia-less drives, etc?
Click-to-move at any point would present a large disconnect between the player and his ship, as if he's moving pieces around on a game board. This is not true to the Star Control spirit. Direct ship control is real, in-your-face, connection to the cold steel of your ship and helps you identify as the captain INSIDE the ship, as opposed to a floating embodiment high above.
I understand that you feel it would give the pla
I think everyone agrees this should be a PC-first release. That includes PC menus, PC control system... not like Rebel Galaxy that just came out, which is obviously supposed to be played with a controller.
I am okay with a controller menu system and an arcade-ish combat display. That's what we had for SC1 and 2. I was more concerned about other types of limitations. "That didn't work well for console users, so
I expressly avoided rediculous 'pc vs console' hyperbole and instead concentrated on real technical differences that make a difference to devs like how patching on Steam is free but costs $10-15k on consoles. That's a very very big shift in how you deploy patches especially since Stardock is very good about doing very frequent patches to fix bugs and add free content. Thats just one of many concerns I have about how the console ve
I think the charm of the SC2 was the artwork style of the cartoony looking characters.
It's kind of funny that SC1's and 2's "retro" graphics are in style these days. I showed a friend Super Melee, and he said that it looked great. He compared it to Luftrausers.

I loved playing Melee / SuperMelee with friends. Back before the Internet, we had to play while sharing a keyboard. It was a great bonding experience. Fast forward to today... One of my co-workers is doing an Extra Life 24-hour game-a-thon for the Children's Miracle Network this Saturday. Because I was one of the first people to donate, I get to choose what he plays for an hour. I'm going to introduce him to SuperMelee. We're going to be playing SC2 for

It will support Internet multiplayer and will likely be the first component released to Founders (2016).
This. This right here is why I'd do anything to get into the Founders Program. The part of the game that I want the most is coming out first. What about local multiplayer? Will I be able

I will not buy this game if it does not have the authentic Star Control top-down 2D Super Melee combat with ships that have completely unique weapons and abilities. I played Super Melee more than I played the TBS game in SC1 or the RPG in SC2 and SC3. Don't make this a MoO3. Keep the core gameplay that defined the series.

When WoM came out, Stardock promised early WoM buyers two free expansions. Does FE count as both expansions? I understand that FE went above and beyond a normal expansion and that Stardock has 2 years of development to recover from. If Stardock needs to change their stance, that's fine. I just want to know now so that I don't get my hopes up. https://forums.elementalgame.com/399482</a

I play small maps because I do not like to have to micro-manage the build queue in multiple cities. I only want to play a map where I have 3-4 cities and I'm able to cover all the surrounding area in my influence. Elemental has a poor build queue system. 1. You can only add items to your build queue if you have the money up front. 2. If you want to grow your city in a certain shape (to encompass a resource node, for example), you have to place your build

What's the best way to bring them to your team's attention? Shall I post the XML changes required to patch said bugs? Posting about issues in the support forum is the best way. But I just read your faq so i'll check out the bugs.
Thank you.
